I have been hoping to come here since I first saw their northside locations. When they opened this location, I was super excited, but I just had the opportunity to get in. Ambiance is okay, it's a little bright. It's well appointed and clean. They share a door with the adjacent ice cream shop and it looks like you can order the ice cream at the table, as we were given a menu.I would probably give this 3.5 stars if I could.Service is only "okay." I mean, everyone was friendly enough, but service was slow and very disconnected. We sat for several minutes after being sat without being further acknowledged. Someone finally came over after I made awkward eye contact when scanning the restaurant to see if we had a server. We felt pushed to order everything at once, but we weren't ready to get entrees, so we ordered drinks, soup, and apps. Our drink glasses sat empty for quite a while at one point. My Hot & Sour Soup came and, after reading the reviews and looking at the amazing pictures, I was SO disappointed. It looked delightful, but it was bland. I got it "medium" spicy and I seriously wondered if they watered it down to make it less spicy. It. Was. Flavorless. The mixed veggie pakoras arrived and they are SO delicious. Crispy. Flavorful. So amazing. The samosas were average, nothing exceptional. Naan was perfect. Fluffy in the middle. Crisp on the edges. Garlicky. Entrees were delicious and portions were generous. Rice was fluffy and cooked perfectly. I'm glad that we didn't order the entrees when we ordered the appetizers because they still came out when were enjoying the soup and apps. They are known for their Biryani and I really hoped to try one, but I'll have to wait for next time.I highly recommend going to this restaurant, but be prepared to have awkward service.

Hyderabad House is a new Indian restaurant in Greenwood. We had lunch here on a Monday, a little after 1 pm. We were the only patrons during the entire time we were there. That was fine with me. Our waiter was a very nice, polite young man and the service he gave us was great. There was contemporary Indian music playing in the restaurant - some people might have thought it was a bit too loud, but we enjoyed it. I ordered butter chicken for myself and shrimp vindaloo for my husband. The waiter asked us what spice level we wanted and I requested mild. My husband asked for spicy, and that is what he got. We also got two orders of butter naan. The entrees came with basmati rice on the side. The butter chicken was OUTSTANDING. The spice level was perfect. The basmati rice was very much to my liking - fluffy, separate grains of rice without spices in it (the food had enough spice in it). The naan bread was freshly-baked and delicious. This is probably the best Indian food I've ever had in Indiana. My husband had to take breaks as he was eating his vindaloo because it really was hot, but that was how he wanted it. He asked me to try it but I passed because I don't like much spice and I'm not crazy about vindaloo no matter what the spice level. He said it was excellent vindaloo and he ate it all. When it came time to pay the check I asked for some to-go boxes and a mango lassi to go. The waiter was very kind and accommodating and I got my lassi and my food boxed up to take home. The mango lassi was thick and very flavorful and delicious, a perfect ending to the meal. I was glad of the convenience of being able to pay the check by scanning a QR code on my phone. The bill was about what I expected, roughly $60 with tip.We may not be able to eat here all time, but now and again, when splurging a little, this will definitely be one of our go-to places.

This new south side location of HYDERABAD HOUSE is a wonderful addition to the great choices of worldly tastes in the Greenwood area. The restaurant is in a beautiful new building with its sister "sweet shoppe" KWALITY adjoining it.The menu is a vast array of traditional Indian cuisine. It is difficult to choose what dish to sample. Definitely, try several items.I started with the Indian Hot and Sour Chicken soup. This hearty bowl could be a meal in itself. It is a concoction of fresh vegetables and chicken in an amazing broth. THIS IS BY FAR IS THE VERY BEST SOUP I HAVE EVER TASTED. The flavor is superb with each spoonful tempting you take another. I would suggest you order your NAAN with the soup for dipping in the broth. And yes, do not have a meal without the Naan. I chose the GARLIC NAAN from the wide variety of naan offered. It is four huge pieces of crispy heaven. It complemented the meal very well. I chose the BUTTER CHICKEN MASALA as my entree. It comes out in a large bowl with an accompanying bowl of rice. Again, one of the best flavored masala I have ever had in the city. The service is excellent and they are happy to describe the different choices available on the menu. They offer a wide variety of Indian beers and wines and bourbon. One must end the meal with a few steps to the restaurant's sweet shoppe adjacent for some ice cream, shakes citrus dessert cakes. I had a new favorite flavor of FIG & WALNUT ICE CREAM. They are happy to let you sample the many unique flavors they offer before you chose. It's always wise to take one or two of the amazing delicious dessert cakes home.YELPERS, You owe yourself the pleasure of HYDERABAD HOUSE.

This restaurant was recommended by a family member so we decided to check them out. The customer service was good, but had to ask for glasses and more water bottles because there were four of us. Order: Gobi Manchurian Chicken 65 - South Indian style so a bit creamy Malai kofta - gravy was decentPaneer butter masalaVeg dump biryani We asked for the food to be spicy and it wasn't spicy or flavorful. Each dish was lacking spices and taste in some way. The biryani was very spicy. We left very disappointed and didn't finish all the food. I would not go back but wish them all the best!

I was excited to see a new Indian place when I got to Kroger yesterday. I mentioned it in to my husband for dinner and we decided to get carryout because it was almost 9:00 pm and they close at 10:00 pm on weeknights. Their menu is extensive and I really wanted to try something different like the dosa but I would like to dine in and be able to ask questions about the unfamiliar dishes. We stuck with our usual order of butter chicken, navratan veg korma, veg samosas, and garlic naan. We ordered both dishes medium. When we pulled up, we saw an ice cream shop connected to the restaurant, so we stopped in to try it out while waiting for our order. They had a lot of options but I didn't really care for the ones I tired. Maybe next time I will try more. We got home with our food and couldn't wait to dive in. The butter chicken looked good although it was breast meat and kinda dry (it's usually tandoori thigh meat) and the veg korma was more paneer than vegetables which I don't personally care for. Both dishes lacked spice and flavor and were mild at best. We both agreed we'd give it a 6/10. We wouldn't go out of our way to try it again but it wasn't terrible. The bill was $42 and the portion sizes were pretty small for the price. Overall we were kinda disappointed. I read a lot of reviews of their other locations before ordering and the food we got was pretty much in line with those reviews. I had hoped this location was going to be better than those but I have to agree with them.

This is the 3 Rd restaurant that they have opened around central Indiana and they have maintained their taste throughout all their restaurants. However, I don't know if the first one, which was super small is still open or not. They have lots of vegetarian options and some.vegan options too. They are family friendly and business casual too. They have an attached ice cream parlor where you can pick up ice cream and indian snacks too. Their customer service is great. They check on you and explain the menu as well. The only downfall is that when you ask for a mild option, we felt the salt was a little overpowering. But otherwise the taste is delicious. They have parking in front of them and they are located in this type of strip mall where other restaurants are located too. This is a definite visit.

We decided to meet friends here for a late lunch as we had tried Kwality ice cream store next door several times and still had not visited the Indian restaurant next door yet. We were got a friendly greeting at the door and were seated promptly. They had a very wide variety of menu items available and a few other items that are only available from Friday to Sunday as that is their busiest days. I started with the hot and sour soup that was vegetarian and followed it freshly baked garlic naan that was amazing. I think I could eat their naan every day. They soup was hot and so fresh. I would for sure order it again. Water is served bottled at the table but they also offered soft drinks, beer, and wine. The wine goes extremely well with the entree I selected. I got the paneer butter masala with tofu. The serving was easily enough for two people and came with a side of basmati rice. The flavors were amazing. You could place an order for the amount of spices that you wanted to order. I got medium and that was perfect. After looking at the ice cream and dessert menu next door while eating I just had to go next door and get dessert. They offered many exotic flavors and some regular flavors. I had to sample several flavors and settled on rose petals which was light and tasty. You should really give both places a try and you won't be disappointed. Parking is plentiful on a weekday. Not sure about the weekend but think there would still be a lot of spaces.

Good quality food but cleanliness of the dining area and ambience is missing. Didn't like that the servers were standing around watching the dining area and that they serve bottled water at room temperature.

We had the vindaloo curry, two different types of naan, the veg samosa and a chicken tikka biryani and it was hands down the best authentic Indian food I've had in so long! The service was quick, friendly and the food was fresh and hot!
