The "Whitestown Library" (aka Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library - Whitestown) is small but great. It just opened in April 2024, after response from the community for a library in this part of Boone County. There is a designated children's area that is its own room at the back of the library. In the children's department, there are toys to play with, coloring pages set out on the tables to draw on, lots of books and movies for kids, and a few computers to play on. There was also a scavenger hunt that took my kid all over the children's area, looking for clues. The seating is modern and fun (there were some seats that looked like mounds of grass!) The librarians were super helpful and polite. In the main part of the library, there's a cozy nook off to the side with a simulated fireplace and comfy chairs to curl up in. Next to this spot, you can walk outside onto the patio, where there are chairs and tables, and farther beyond these there's a path. There's a makerspace / makerstudio in the library, too, but when I visited, it wasn't open. I think you need to make an appointment to visit, because of all of the tools that are available. Apparently, it has a 3D printer, laser cutter, sewing machines, embroidery machines, a vinyl cutter and lots more. Borrowing privileges at Whitestown Library extend also to the Zionsville Library (aka Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library - Zionsville).

The newly opened branch of the Hussey-Mayfield Public Library in Whitestown is lovely and upscale with many amenities. There are dedicated Adult, Teen and Children's rooms filled with books. The children's area has a play room filled with toys and colorful chairs. There is an awesome Maker's Studio with a 3-D printer, laser engraver, robotics kits and advanced sewing machines. The library has lots of nooks and crannies with comfortable chairs and even a fire place for reading. There are study rooms, a conference room and a large community room that can be reserved. The community room has a kitchenette and is wired for media. One of the unique rooms is the recording studio. The room is contains mics and recording capabilities. A nice patio is just outside the back for reading outside. The staff is friendly and knowledgable. They offer programs throughout the month. The library is part of the Evergreen system. The parking lot is fairly small and was filled during our visit.

As a resident of whitestown, I have been anxiously awaiting this opening! There were many people that volunteered for this day that greeted us, gave us tours, have booths set up with freebies and information about difference sections and events happening at the new library. There are a lot of events on the schedule. An area called the makers studio, has 3D Printers and sewing machines. The kids area has thoughtfully planned out puzzles and interactive toys for the kids. I have never seen a recording studio in a library and think it is a very cool touch. There are trails behind the library and they are gonna plan events for the kids back there. The library is beautiful inside and is going to definitely be loved by this community. I can't wait to go back to check out books and begin using these cool areas in the library.

Been eagerly anticipating this new branch to open. Was able to visit on grand opening day and it was a full house! They truly cater to the community where you can find something for anyone. Books, activities, nursing room, conference room, performance room, media room, crafts room, quiet room... you name it! Would join their email list so you can keep up with their many classes, events, and charity drives they offer. Was so easy to check out books with the electronic kiosks. What a great place to cultivate a learning mind and addition to the area!
