House With the Lions Antiques

House with the Lions antique shop is on the Square in Covington across from the Courthouse and one of the nicest antique stores I've visited in Indiana. I was excited to see primitives and fine antiques throughout the shop. The antiques are well displayed and the shop is pristine. They carry everything from furniture to tools, with some items museum quality. The clerk was welcoming and friendly, but let us wonder at our own pace. She answered a few questions I had about the antiques and shop. Prices were reasonable for the quality. I recommend a visit. Plan about an hour or less. There is free street parking.

It's rare that I come to Covington and don't stop in to House With the Lions. The owners are very friendly and helpful if you're looking for something in particular or have questions. They usually have candy out for you to enjoy while you shop, which is such a little thing to note, but it's a fun tidbit I've noticed. The great thing about HW TL is how much they have. The place is as packed as possible while still having good, clear walkways. You can find everything from books to toys to beds to suitcases and more. There are taxidermy mounted heads, and old postcards and vintage dining sets. The basement is one of my favorite places to peruse. It's a little creepy looking at first glance, but worth the venture! Downstairs you'll find items like various chairs, window panes, shutters, old school desks, mantels and tools. It's fun to see what treasures you'll find! If you're into antiques and near Covington, this is great spot to check out. And even if you're not into antiques, HWTL is a nice spot to peruse and kill some time.

Stopped in and found one of the nicest shops we've ever been to for antiques. The owner was quite friendly and the store had a great variety and fairly priced. Can't wait to stop again when we have a bit more time. Also everything is neat and clean.

This is a great store!! So many antiques!!! I especially loved the basement which gave me tons of DIY ideas!!!!

My husband and I love to stop in Covington on our way to visit family across the Indiana line. This shop is well arranged, has beautiful furniture, pottery, kitchen clocks, picture frames. It is always fun to walk through and then speak with the knowledgeable and helpful owner. She takes great pride in what she sells and can be trusted to give accurate and truthful information. We have purchased many smaller items over the years. Don't forget to stop across the street at the ice cream and lunch shop that sells house made Dilly Bars for $1.10.
