New menu! Updated prices! Same delicious food!!! Service is always amazing and the food is top notch!! It's a must and leaves you feeling full the rest of the day!! Must try is the Black Forest pancakes, share them as they are filling!!! Love the croissant with egg and crispy bacon.

I spotted this place driving down Highway 36 a couple of weeks ago and added it to my list. I was surprised how large the place is when I walked though the doors. There is a huge dining room with at least 25 tables and a dozen booths. I got there about 11:15 am and there was a steady stream of customers coming inside plus a lot of people calling in to-go orders on the phone. I ordered the Fish Sandwich special off the chalk board which came with a choice of soup or salad. I chose their Chicken Pasta Soup. The pasta was macaroni which sure fits in a spoon nicely and makes for easier eating. The soup tasted great and was very filling as every spoonful contained lots of ingredients. The fish sandwich consisted of a full size fillet and the large plate was filled with potato chips. I thoroughly enjoyed the fish sandwich. My server brought out my bowl of soup before I was ready as I was checking my blood sugar real quick. And the rest of the food came out before getting a third of the way through the bowl of soup which I especially liked, otherwise if I had finished the bowl, I might have been too full to enjoy the sandwich. Although my service was fast they seemed to be short staffed at the cashier desk. One woman was pulling triple duty in being the hostess seating people, doing the cashier duties, and taking orders over the phone but she was getting the job done. Upon paying my bill with her later, I learned one person didn't come in today. My only disappointment was they only had a cinnamon roll for dessert. Parking was a non-issue because of the very large shared lot. The restroom was clean and stocked. This is a nice local business well worthy of my repeat business.

It was 11am and i needed breakfast food. the craving hit me during a work meeting via zoom so i hopped on yelp to see what was nearby. to my surprise a hot cakes emporium was right down the street. i called hot cakes emporium and placed my order over the phone. an order of french toast and some well done turkey sausage please. unfortunately they don't have turkey sausage only bacon and i added a side of hashbrowns. i was told 10-15 mins for my food. when i arrived 15 mins later i walked inside masked up and there was another person waiting. it looked like some meals were bagged up ready to go. i let the cashier know my name when she arrived and paid. the bag was tied so i had to wait until i got in the car to check for accuracy.the order of french toast was plenty! i would say the hashbrowns could have been crispier and my sausage wasn't well done like requested. flavor wise the french toast was delicious especially once i added the provided butter and syrup, it was thick and soaked everything up. i actually ended up cooking my hashbrowns a bit longer at home and seasoning them-- this is okay to me as a lot of places don't heavily season potatoes and allow guests to do so. as long as that's consistent when i return no complaints . the sausage tasted fine as well. employees wore masks as well as customers. it was a few people seated inside eating and most certainly has a diner quiet aura. i'll def be adding this place to my go to for quick breakfast grabs! there's plenty of parking in a shared lot: and a ramp if you use a chair for mobility to get inside

We had been here 2 years ago and was not impressed, but Emmy's Pancakes and Cafe was closed so we just tried this again. Long line to get in, but we were seated quickly #1. Then service was great and attentive #2. Tammy's second day and she was very cheerful as well as frazzled. Food came out hot on warm plates #3. Kitchen staff was large and seemed organized. Not so much for expeditor. She was actually piling plates onto tray. In other words plates of food set upon by other plates of food. GROSS!! But, my steak was good and tender and hubs skillet meal was enjoyed! Big portions! Pancakes were delicious. Big and fluffy. So not a bad experience overall!! My photos show that I started eating. Just to show you that I really ATE the food!! ENJOY!!

They do a good job of accomplishing what they set out to do - be a solid breakfast spot that serves up the basics. You won't find too much on the menu that's different from any other breakfast spot - but they do it well and they do it fast. The pancakes are quite good. Sometimes places make them too dry. These ones were nice and fluffy.They have a counter for single diners which is where I sat. Seems like the counter primarily serves as a space for the waitstaff to write up guest checks, fold silverware, and other chores. It was a little annoying sharing my eating space with the workers but nothing to get upset about.

The food was fine and once we were eventually seated, the wait times on our order wasn't very long considering it was a Sunday brunch and the place was packed.I expected there to be a wait because of the time we chose to come here. However, it's like the place has no management paying attention. They did close some tables down near the entrance because of the backlog of people standing in a crowd at the entrance. We managed to get through the pack and get our name on the list for people waiting tables. There was a 15 to 20 minute wait and we knew there would be something similar on a Sunday if we tried someplace else, so since we had our vaccines and it has been 2 weeks and we had our masks on, we waited. There was no line. Just random people. Some were waiting to get on the list, while others were waiting for their name to be called and others were trying to pay their bills all at the same spot. You would think they could have some plan in order. Someone on their staff could be taking names of guests at one of the empty tables near the entrance and they could have taped lines on the floor for that group. They could also take cell phone numbers to call people when their table was ready. The folks could wait in their cars and free up the cluster of people blocking the entrance which would open more tables since they were closed because of the close proximity to the pack standing there.They could also have the waitresses take the bills to a register and someone could ring up the orders while the customers waited at their tables. Less people crowding the checkout/checkin/waitlist pack.When finished I went to pay my bill and stood off to the right of the cashier and someone walked up right infront of the cashier and handed his card and receipt ahead of me. He was huge, so I didn't want to start something I couldn't finish, so I waited. When I was directly in front of the cashier behind the big guy, by the time he tucked his wallet in his pocket and turned around, someone came up from the dining side and without even looking at me, the cashier took the "cutter's" card and bill. I finally got right in front of the cashier and forced my card as the person behind the cutter tried to ignore my position. Hey manager...you have a mess at your front door and are no where in sight. Add to that that some customers were just roaming around without masks. I don't know what the local rules are here, but being a decent human being should still matter and covering your face and waiting your turn should still matter. Without some management to 'manage', it was just chaos and a place I'm not likely to return unless I know some changes are made for the better. There are just too many places that have similar quality brunch offerings to put up with this mess. It's a shame because our waitress was doing a good job not only covering her tables, but having to cover for a no show (or someone on staff who left early.) It took a long time for her to circle back to refill my coffee, but she heard me say please bring my check and she did that fairly promptly. I think if we would have gone on a different day or at a later time, it may not have been as hectic as it was during our visit.They have a wide selection of food to choose from, but the weird checkin and checkout didn't make a good first OR last impression.Review #3902

Food is always excellent! I even had to wait a few minutes because it was too hot to eat. The young man who waited on us (his name is George) was outstanding! Very attentive to anything we needed. In fact, he anticipated what I would need before I even asked.

Food is good service is ok it could be better but I give it a 3 stars rating so it is ok

Kids like the black forest pancakes. Portion is too big even when its split by two kids. Another kid likes his farm breakfast. Spouse likes the traditional american breakfast. I always enjoy the Mexican skillet (for a long time). We have enough leftover for breakfast tomorrow and maybe the day after. If we were to order the black forest pancakes again, we will ask for the topping to come on the side.Service is great. This is a great neighborhood gem. My in laws always frequent here for brunch when they visit us from out of town.

This place is absolutely the best place around! The food is great! The customer service is unmatched! The prices are amazing! With the cost of everything these days this is the place to go!! Ask for Schila, she is the best will will take great care of you!!!
