This place is a scam, I ordered 5 baleadas, I paíd $35(includes tip) they all looked like this, it looks like like someone wiped their butt with it, rolled it up and put in tim foiled and called it food. As a Honduran I am disappointed. Go to La Ceiba on Rockville, 10 times better than this trash

El Pollo frito una delicia, las tajadas DEBEN de freirlas mas o cortarlas mas delgadas. Las BALEADAS regular no muy buenas. Como todo restaurante Latino ( en su mayoria) mucho desorden y no muy limpio. The fried chicken is delicious, the banana slices MUST be fried more or cut thinner. The BALEADA are not very good. Like every Latino restaurant (mostly) a lot of mess and not very clean.

If you want to try some incredible and authentic food, this is the place! I lived in Honduras for a year and just fell in love with the food. When I found Honduras Express years ago I was over the moon! I have no idea why it's taken me so long to review them. My go to's every single time is the baleada sencilla (the most delicious thick and chewy tortilla with beans, cheese and mantequilla (a buttery type of sour cream)) and tajaditas (fried plantains with cabbage, pickled onions, sauce and fried chicken). They are both flavor explosions. So delicious! You can also get your baleada with eggs and avocado. I just prefer mine plain. The tajaditas come with other types of meat as well, but that fried chicken is amazing! They also have licuados (fruit juices) that are very good. The only bad thing is the wait time for food. I once went on a Saturday and waited 2 hours for food. If it wasn't for that they would have 5 stars all the way from me.

Not your traditional establishment for pupusas but it has the nostalgic feel of when Indy was first developing its first few Latin stores and restaurants. It IS a super small storefront with a couple of tables off to one side and a wall of drinks, snacks, and small goods they sell. But don't get discouraged by the lack of space, menues, or extravagant amenities. The pupusas are cheesy, gooey, and never too greasy. When I'm feeling greedy I'll also order the platano with cream and cheese. Yet I still must try the Honduran specialty which is their Baleadas, but I'm too busy eating pupusas! Anytime you're off of Washington St. stroll on by, you won't be disappointed! Honduras Express is a very straight to the point kind of shop, gotta love it.

A pretty much undiscovered gem! Man, have I been giving out a lot of 5 star reviews lately, but this place deserves it.We had had Honduran food once before, at La Cieba. I gave the place 3 stars out of pity (also since I was the first reviewer) but it was no bueno. This place took everything we didn't like about La Ceiba and turned it on its head! To start off this place was spotlessly clean (unlike La Ceiba) and the service was good (unlike La Ceiba). They don't give you a menu; it's on the wall. It's one of those picture-menus..some of the items aren't even named! You can pretty much just point and say "I want that" and you'll be good. At least 2 of the staff who were there spoke good English. Our waiter helped explain the menu and the owner/chef lady came around to ask how everything was. We ordered a variety of things so that we could share and try various stuff:-Baleada. I think this is Honduras's national dish? We had this at La Ceiba and thought it was gross, but here it was AWESOME! They put avocado, beans, cheese, eggs and chorizo, and some sort of sauce in it. We wished we had bought more than one! -Catrachitas. Sort of like a tostada. Beans, avocado, cheese, and red peppers that we think were pickled. These were epic. The peppers were SO GOOD. The cheese and beans work so well together. This dish has just the right amount of salt and all of the flavors go so well together. Oh my goodness. Could have eaten tons of these. Also, I'm not typically an avocado fan, but at this restaurant I thought avocado worked well in all the dishes it was in!-Pupusas. We've had these at multiple Salvadoran restaurants before and liked them so we ordered this as our "safe" option in case the other items were a La Ceiba repeat. Ironically it was the least exciting of the dishes we ordered. Still super good! However, I think it needed beans or something else inside as it was just cheese. They were cooked to perfection though. They come with curtido (slaw) and a spicy sauce. To top it all off it was super cheap! In addition to the above my dad got a banana soda and it was still only like $22 for 3 people. Will definitely be back. This is one of 3 Honduran restaurants I know of in Indianapolis. 2/3 through! One was a miss, but this one was a total hit! I'm surprised it only has 3 reviews. I'm glad we didn't decide to give up on this cuisine after 1 try because it's really unique and flavorful!

Let's start with the bad: Not in the best side of town and would have never gone if it wasn't for my sister in law who is from Honduras. There's no menus. There is some pics on the wall, but not of everything they serv. not very nice pictures and no prices on them. We waited a good 1/2 hour for our food if not longer. Im not sure if thy were short handed that day but our sever was cashier and cook. Maybe that's why they took forever. The good: Lucky for me I had someone to guide me on what to order lol. I think I would have walked out if it wasn't for her. To drink I had an Horchata. Nothing like Mexican Horchata this had a nutty taste it's good, but sooooo sweet. Food I had the chicken with Tajadas (fried green bananas.) Some house dressing and a slaw accompanied the chicken breast which was bone in. The taste was good fried perfectly. It was juicy in the inside and crunchy outside. My Sisterinlaw had Seared steak with refried beans and tajadas. She also ordered baleadas which is a flour tortilla with beans sour cream cheese and eggs. The tortilla is good. Just not my thing. We tried popusas (waited again another 1/2 hour) which is a dough stuffed with cheese pork rinds and beans then flattened and fried. These were better than I've had in other places, but smaller. They weren't that greasy. Anyway it was a nice experience that took up most of the morning and part of my afternoon. As I mentioned before my sister in law is Honduran and I've tried some of her cooking, this place seems authentic I wouldn't know it but my sister in law does and she confirmed it is authentic. With that being said, I encourage others to try it. It's always nice to try a new cuisine. As far as I know there's not a lot of Honduran food here in Indy. Do come with plenty of time. They seem to have a lot of phone in orders. Sorry there's no pics to load my cell died.

Let me just admit up front that I have never eaten Honduran food before, not even anything remotely in that category. But as I was driving home, I spot this hole in the wall restaurant and thought to myself that I must check this out. ..So today I stopped there fir some carry out . It is a small strip mall restaurant with some groceries also available for purchase. There are pictures of available dinners on the wall and a list of things to pick from at the register. The lady there was very friendly and switched from Spanish to English for me. Since I have no clue about this type of food, I just picked small cheap items of the menu to get a taste. I do know I purchased an enchilada, because I thought I knew what that was, but nothing in my order resembles what I would consider an enchilada... jokes on me....So now I have various yummy items and no clue what is what, so good luck trying to figure out what my favorites are actually called. Long story short, it's good, whatever it was.

With all that follows, I want to make it clear that I will try this place again when I'm in the area. I think I may have ordered the wrong thing, because I was not impressed. I was looking for a nearby, highly rated, hole in the wall while in this area. When I noticed this place very excited to give it a try. Reviews were great and pictures of the food looked fabulous. The menu on the wall, which is the only one they offered to me, did not have prices on it. Just pictures of the food with names. Rather than choose based on a picture, I noticed another patron with a large bowl of soup, which looked great, so I decided to order it. The soup had large pieces of beef, potato, carrots and tomatoes. There was nothing wrong with the soup, but it was not particularly flavorful. In fact, it was pretty bland. I also ordered the melon drink, which had a smoothie-like texture, but was not as cold as a smoothie. It was pretty good, but not really ideal to my particular taste preference. The surprise of the day was the price. It was $18.50 without any tip. For some reason, that really turned me off to the place. It seemed like a $10-$12 meal to me, at most. As I mentioned, there were no prices on the menu. Lesson learned on that. Ask for a price before you order.
