Homemade Ice Cream & Bakery Café

What a fantastic visit! The food was so good. The team at Homemade answered my questions and then made recommendations for my meal. The food was delicious and seeing the team at Homemade in action was truly impressive. Dishes were cleared, drinks were refilled, and everyone was smiling and enjoying their time. My friend who met me there was also impressed and mentioned what a great place it was.I want to give a special shout-out to Jessica, Jill, Yoselyn, and Claire. I appreciate your time and genuine care, which made my meal so great.

Homemade is part bakery that makes fabulous pies, cakes and other baked goods. They also make wonderful soups and sandwiches. My experience has been different depending on the day of the week that I go. My first visit, on a Sunday, they were crazy crowded, there was a long line to order and it was hard to find a table. So, I came back a during the week and the restaurant was peaceful, the clerks were happy and eager to wait on us. They checked on us and made sure we had everything we needed. I tried the soup/sandwich combo. My food came out quickly and there was even a surprise on my plate. I had the Lobster Bisque soup which was velvety fabulous. The French Dip had fresh chewy bread and moist roast beef and the au jus was perfect. They also included a sweet croissant that was an unexpected treat. Oh man , what a great lunch. Their ice cream is very good but the pie is out of this world. I highly recommend the rhubarb, which is definitely made with fresh rhubarb. It's a perfect blend of tart and sweet with crystallized sugar on top. The dining room is comfortable with a mix of booths and tables. Their covered patio overlooks a small pond and has additional seating. For the best experience, go during the week. The pies and cakes were all fresh on my Tuesday visit. And the mid-week staff is phenomenal. They do a robust carry out business and you can buy cakes to go. They do have a kids menu. I'm giving the week day crew 5 stars.

Purchased several cookies from this establishment and they were pretty good! The staff was friendly and there was plenty of room inside.

Great ambience, fresh made cakes and friendly folks! Bought a chocolate cake last minute and it was awesome. Second cake I called and ordered. 24 hours later...boom! Freaking delicious!

Don't let this place fool you. They have sandwiches, salads, and lots of desserts. I really thought I was walking into a place that just had ice cream and desserts.I had the Caprese sandwich on gluten-free bread. I was surprised it was a half a sandwich. Pricey for a half sandwich. I would give it three out of 10. The three mainly came from the gluten-free bread. It was very good. Overall the sandwich did not have much taste.The service was excellent. It would be a nine out of 10. Let's get to the dessert-Cupcake was dry, but had a very pleasant taste. The ice cream was definitely a win. You walk in all the divine desserts will have you trying to decide which one to get. They all look fantastic! For those nice days there is outdoor seating, which was nice.

We went to eat next door and didn't have an awesome time but you know what, Homemade to the rescue! Really, we should have just had dinner here but live and learn.Not being from Carmel, we were a little confused what the deal was with this place...was it like Village Inn, a sandwhich shop or dessert place? A little of both. They have a beautiful selection of desserts and ice cream but also have soups and sandwiches. Even though we were there for dessert, I had a taste of the lobster bisque and that was the only bad thing about this place. Straight up butter soup, no likey.But the staff? Super helpful and walked us through the menu! We got a few samples of ice cream before we settled on dessert to have there. Banana pudding has my heart so I had that and could only finish half of it. It was absolutely divine, I would seriously come back just for that!

The first time I came here, I was very impressed. You walk in and then the first thing you see are the yummy desserts. You can then go up and order. Everyone is always friendly, the ambiance is very relaxing on the interior and when the weather is nice, you can also sit outside as well. Very yummy food and desserts.

It's pricy, but I think you very much get what you pay for here. The pastries and ice cream are high quality and delicious. The caramel Dutch apple pie with cinnamon ice cream is my favorite dessert in town. The inside is cozy and they have a lovely covered patio if you prefer to dine outside. If you get carryout slices of pie, they come in triangle-shaped containers that keep your pie from falling apart.

Great dessert and good food. A great brunch or lunch place or a stop over for a quick bite. Be careful as it's a place that can quickly add pounds to your body if watching weight. But it's delicious. Didn't eat there so not sure how service is in the place. Didn't try their coffee drinks. Desserts are awesome.

Lots of dessert options! The service is always adequate. We enjoy coming just for dessert and to sit by their fire and chat. There aren't many places that offer as many dessert options in a comfortable dine in setting!
