Holy Smoke Heavenly Bbq

I had really high hopes for this place because of past reviews!So I went for lunch one day. I had the pulled pork sandwich with mac and cheese (it comes with a drink) for about $8. So really not bad price for a full meal! However, here's the thing. I was the only person there when I was waiting for my food and I heard a microwave go off. I immediately thought to myself "oh no!" and my expectations decreased. I got my food and I went on my way.The sandwich was in one of those small to-go containers. And the sauce was all on the bottom, so my bun was completely soggy. Idc that it was messy because bbq is messy... but it was so soggy. My meat was microwaved... and the Mac and cheese was okay.I know other places probably microwave food too... but it was disappointing. And therefore, I don't think I'll be back.

Oh my goodness! How heavenly this little gem is! I had a hankering for BBQ and honestly I haven't had any stellar BBQ in Indy since moving here back in 2012, so when I saw the great reviews online I thought why not! I got an order of BBQ wings, a full order of rib tips, mac n cheese, baked beans and greens. And by I, I mean my Wife and I.The ribs were so tender they fell off the bone only to melt in your mouth. The BBQ sauce was so flavorful; it was sticky and sweet but also had a nice spice mix to balance everything out. The smoked wings weren't the best as they were just a tad bit dry. You know how dry chicken wings seem translucent and jerky like on the bone, yeah. But the sauce was A1! (not the steak sauce, just an adjective for a delicious sauce) The sides however were absolutely delicious! They come in these small styrofoam containers that I wish were larger. The mac n cheese tasted a little boxy but not in a bad way because they seemed to have docked up the flavor profile. The greens were tender and expertly seasoned. The baked beans were sweet and went great with the mac n cheese. Service was wonderful! It seems to be a new family restaurant with Ma at the register and Grandma in the back with her sisters cooking up a storm! They were the sweetest and had no issue answering all of our questions about the food. They also have a food truck so if you're ever around downtown you may run into them!

There's nothing nice I have to say about the taste of my food. It just wasn't good at all. My macaroni was loaded with black pepper and had a sour taste that I couldn't make out. The greens were bland, very bland. My pulled chicken didn't look anything like the pulled chicken I've seen in all of my 30 years. The sauce was thick, almost like when sauce sits out on the stove for too long. None of it tasted fresh. Probably a couple days old, minimum. Attaching pictures for reference. Needless to say, most of my food went in the trash. I'm also leaving a pic of how much food I actually trashed.

Where do I begin , there smoked wings are to die for there really delicious on top of that they have everything on there menu from Turkey tips all the way down to pig feet. There desserts are REALLY good the peach cobbler is home made along with there other desserts everything is made from scratch. The owners are really nice they make sure everything you order is cook to order which I appreciate.

I saw the good reviews and thought great I'll try out a pit master in the making's bbq. Boy was I wrong. I ordered a 1/2 slab or ribs and 5 wings. The sauce is good, and after eating the meat I can see why the meat is drenched in it. I really dont think these ribs or wings were smoked. Taste like they were baked in the oven. No smoke ring, no Smokey taste. Just meat and sauce. Very disappointing for how much this meal was. Maybe they should take a trip down south and learn how to really smoke meat it's not hard, just time consuming.

Fire ass bbq! I go for lunch and get the pulled pork sandwich (bun on the side). There's so much meat you could make two sandwiches with it! Juicy and amazing tasting. I've tried three sides: greens, Mac and cheese, and the cole slaw. All super yummy. The gentleman who always takes my order is sweet and fast. I would recommend to everyone.

Always good. I'm a picky eater. They always get it right. We order from here a lot. We even moved across town. They got it hands down.

I was looking for a local restaurant that could deliver Ribs and Rib Tips.We ordered a slab of ribs and 2 ribs tips and it was deliciousand there was too much food for three people to finish at one setting. The barbecue sauce was smoky and not too sweet.We will be placing more orders in the future and this was a great dinner for a Saturday evening!Thanks,Dave Williams

I do enjoy their food. So much so, that last Friday we ordered carry out for our dinner. However, I will not be back right now. They are still allowing people to line up inside the small area. In light of COVID-19 I feel like they should only let one person in at a time. It would be as simple as requiring call in orders only and assigning a number. They could hold the customer number up in the window and then allow them to enter to pay and pick up their food. It is just too dangerous to be jammed packed inside that little area right now!

LOVE the food! The Tips are always falling off the bone. Tender, Just the way I like them!! The greens are seasoned and a must have side dish. Oh, and don't forget the peach cobbler for dessert! I wish it were bigger so we could dine in. It's essentially a carry out location. Good eats!
