Hinkle's Hamburgers - New Ownership

Onion rings are good. That's why a 2 star. Breaded tenderloin was awful. Don't bother. Not the thinned out I remember. The breading was soggy and under cooked. Sad.

Service was poor. Fries sat in the warmer and got old. Counter person was inattentive.

No frills kinda spot. Quick, easy, and greasy (in a good way)! Has an original kind of feel to it, and I think better than any other fast food burger place around town. Great milkshake too!

The real deal. No Big Mac here. You get a real burger with real fries cooked and served by real people. This is the way drive ins used to be.

Amazing every time. Fast food made by family with love and served fresh and hot. no brainer for locals and a must for tourists. All worth it.

Haven't been to Bloomington in 15 years & currently here for a night for a wedding. Wanted a good burger & Hinkle's came up in my search. I'm so glad I decided to eat here. The service is exactly what you love & expect in southern Indiana: extremely friendly, personable, nice - these guys made me want to move back to the state they were so lovely! I've missed this kind of hospitality dearly. Not to mention the food was out of this world. It was exactly what I wanted in a burger. I'm in Indiana until after thanksgiving & might take another trip down to Bloomington just for Hinkle's. It really reminded me how much I love & miss my home state: great food in a tiny spot off the beaten path & amazingly friendly folks behind the counter! I will be back!

Love this place. I'm not old enough to remember what old school burgers tasted like, but I imagine it was something like this. This place makes you feel like you have stepped back in time. Not only are the burgers fantastic, they also make some of the best onion rings in town. I also had the BLT, cause I just had a feeling... it was fantastic! Highly recommend Hinkle's to anyone looking for a great local spot in B-town. This place is a gem.

The food is wonderful and the owner is an amazing man who knows how to offer great customer service and generous hospitality. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for a quick good quality classic burger. I'm 74, started eating Hinklle's, when I, had to stand on a wooden crate, to play the pin ball machine, waiting with Dad, for our order... There is, just no taste as good, as a Hinkle's burger !! None ! New owner, is doing great!! Carries on the tradition !! I'm 1200 miles away, and that's a problem...But, when I come home, that's the first stop !!

Usually I love this place. When visiting from Florida it was first on our list. Sadly it missed the mark. Even my daughter in from Oklahoma was disappointed. I had no idea it was under new ownership. The quality of meat used was horrible. Leon ( the original owner) used real grounded steak. This was cheap ground beef. I won't be returning or recommending. Neither will my daughter.
