The good stuff first . The rooms,Lobby and restaurant area are all really nice and newly remodeled. The location is great but also the source of my lower score. Because it is a downtown location with rooms on the street it tends to be noisy. I highly suggest the highest floor possible. I was on the 2nd floor with my windows overlooking the sidewalk. I could hear people walking by and talking until later at night. The other nice thing is the atrium. Great outdoor furniture and secluded from the busy city center. It's a great spot to bring your dog as it also has pet clean up stations and trees with lots of nice birds to watch too. Now for the bad part. Since there is no private parking lot you have to park next door in a city garage. It's very low at 6'-10" so if you have an over height truck forget it. My standard Ford F150 fits but even it was a little uncomfortable feeling. Also with longer vehicle navigation inside the garage is a bit tight and the spaces are narrow. But even worse is that as a hotel guest you have to park on the upper floors then ride the elevator down to access the hotel through an outside entrance. Then get on a different elevator to go to the hotel lobby. I didn't see any carts to make carrying luggage easier so I just made 3 trips up and down the elevators each time. Maybe they have carts but I didn't see them. And of course you have to pay a daily fee to the garage and use a key card to get in and out.So really the parking is the worst part for me but I don't know what else they could do at this location.

First of all the Bloomington area is amazing and this hotels' location is in the heart of the city with easy access to all the sites dining IU campus and more. Second the rate for this hotel is very reasonable. Third one might expect a college town or similarly an airport location hotel to have some wear and tear. That all being said we had expected a slightly nicer room than the king premium we stayed in. Upon arriving the room was very hot which is not uncommon but the old a/c unit undoubtably on its last 6 to 12 month of service like- took a long time to cool things off. Our corner room and bath seemed very small for premium king but HGI rooms are often much smaller. The bath room fan sounded like a Harley motorcycle, and there was mold on the tub and bugs crawling out from a hole beneath the tub (see pics). One elevator being out of service did not help matters. Overall parking was easy, the staff very friendly, and the hotel location again could not be better for enjoying the area. A decent stay but you may want to try the graduate hotel nearby or the newer home2suites.

I will start with the positive... it is centrally located. Other then that it is sooooo 2 star! At check in I'm not sure if he had a heartbeat? I mean he was nice but really could care less about anything! The rooms are tired and borderline clean. I would suggest in advance to request more towels. You barely have 1 set. The temperature is either sweat your a** off or freezer your a** off. There is a restaurant attached- the staff there is nice but the food is frozen deep fried/ warmed up crap! The WORST part is the shower in the morning is COLD! I let it run for ever too! I'm still pissed off about this!! Especially after I froze my a** off all night! I will never and I mean never stay there again!

This place got a glow up! I often stay here when I'm in town because of the location near the square. I wasn't able to check in but the front desk folks were super helpful & accommodating: they helped store my bag, gave me the wifi code and let me post up in the lobby to take work calls until my room was ready. When I got up to the room, I was pleasantly surprised by the new look & feel! It looks way better & much more modern now. I did expect it to be cleaner than it was (e.g. dirty floors in the elevator). Paid parking is a shared structure with the Mercury Apartments so sometimes you have to go way up on higher floors.

Stayed here for one night this past week. My room was clean and about what I expect from a Hilton Garden Inn. The downside to this property is the restaurant where we had breakfast. It is long over due for remodeling. It is dark and just dark. We did have drinks at the bar. The bartender was friendly. This property would be great if they completely redid the restaurant and bar area.

You must wear your face masks, and also this is a social distancing hotel. So far, so great! I'm here for about a week, so I decided to stay at Hilton. So far, I love the hotel and the employees. The room is clean, have a coffee maker, but I don't drink coffee. Many residents near by and a nice comfy bed. They have snacks and drinks at the check out desk. You can pay for your snacks immediately, or it can be billed to your room. Great hotel, and I'm happy that I chose here.

I arrived late and left early, so I can't rate the amenities. Can say it was clean. Room was good size. Was quiet stay. Disappointed that the restaurant is closed on Sundays.

Stayed here one night visiting IU for my younger sisters college orientation. We had arrived at the hotel around 11:30 p.m., and had to stand in front of the door for 20 minutes trying to call someone to let me in so I can check in for the night. After we finally checked in, our room was fine, but the fridge had previous old take out containers full of moldy food that I guess they forgot to clean out before our check in. Overall, definitely is fine to sleep in for a night, but nothing special.

10/21/23 Paid $700 for one night and we tried checking in at 4:00 and there was a lobby full of unhappy guest, including ourselves because we were all told our rooms were not ready, well after given check in times. Once our room was ready the elevator was broken and we had to take the steps. Once on our floor the hallways were completely lined with dirty linens and towels which we had to step over. The hotel was a complete disaster. Mind blown. We overpaid and were taken advantage of. Never again.
