I have been going to HHPC for a little over 11 years ever since they played on Friday nights with a small group of friends and only their families watching. Since then, it has grown to be an awesome and unique venue for both spectators and the Charities that they support. HHPC is an awesome place for you to tailgate and bring your family and friends. It is $40 at the gate and that's for the carload - all of which the proceeds go directly to the charity of that night. If you have not checked this place out, be sure to do so!

This was a totally fun way to hang out with friends! Tailgating at the Polo Match was a fun reason to get together and hang out.We brought our own food so I can't comment on their offerings, not sure they even have offerings as everyone around us also brought food and beverages.Friday night polo matches are fundraising events. It's a different charity each week, they get the gate ($20 per car) and this one also had a live auction after the match was over. There is some parking along the field and then more within a short walking distance. There is a grandstand on the west side of the field but when we got there at 5:10 it was already restricted. So we parked on the East side of the field, it was slightly harder to hear but we participated in the National Anthem anyway, keeping pace and tune with those around us because we couldn't hear the speakers on the Grandstand well. The restroom situation is port-a-johns on the East side of the field, I don't know if they have "real" bathrooms on the West side (buildings are all on that side) it's a huge field and it was too much to walk it.If you're going with a group at least one car should commit to getting there at 5:00. Bring all your tailgating gear (tent, tables, coolers) and enjoy the match!

Hickory Hall Polo Club offers an opportunity to hang out with friends and family while eating, drinking and watching polo! Another bonus? $20 a carload gets you in to the field and the money goes towards a different charity every week! Bring food, drinks, chairs, a table and tent and set up tailgate style. Some people bring big blankets too! You can dress however you'd like. Some people keep is casual but others opt to put on a dress and hat (think derby style). My brother-in-laws parents own and operate HHPC and they do a wonderful job. Events run from June-October on most Friday evenings and some Saturday's. Some evenings they even have a plane fly over the field during halftime and it drops candy for the kids! We love coming out when the weather is nice and we just want to relax while watching a sport you don't see a whole lot. It's truly a hidden gem! Some charities will set up a big tent by the deck with private auction items so don't hesitate to check it out when you're there. Highly recommend you put this on your list of places to go this summer! It's also a perfect event for social distancing given the current pandemic. Follow their Facebook or IG page for more info.

I am so stinkin delighted by my experience attending a Saturday polo match at Hickory Hall. I am a horse fan so I was already pumped about seeing the riders and ponies in action. My already high expectations were exceeded!I brought a car-full of friends (and yes- just $20 for your carload no matter how many people you're cramming into the backseat) and we went in an entourage with a few other friends in similarly packed trucks. We pulled in and parked on the side of the field (first come, first serve). Everyone backs in and tailgates right at the sidelines. Atmosphere is very festive; lots of adult drinks and picnic tables full of snacks. My friend brought her Labradoodle and he made all kinds of new friends. There are porta-potties available but I don't think there are restrooms accessible during the match. The announcer was full of spunk and kept me giggling through the lulls of the match. There were fundraising events to look at during intermission. The players would ride by during breaks and chat up the audience. The cherry on top was the AIRPLANE that bombed CANDY on the field after the match. I had no idea things like this happened on any old Saturday. What other crazy fun things are happening that I don't know about? My niece was thrilled and grabbed up some candy from her mobile pinata. To summarize- this is an awesome way to spend a few hours; for adults and children alike! Bring a huge entourage and try an afternoon at the Hickory Hall Polo Club!

Located on the northeast outskirts of one of the Northwest's mightiest cities, Indianapolis' Hickory Hill Polo Club provides luxurious facilities and an elegant experience for athletes and spectators alike. The main road, lined with stately maple and oak trees, rolls past lush grounds, punctuated with various species of exotic flowers and foliage. From April 15th to June 1st, spectators are welcome to attend practices and conditioning, and the season kicks off with games and scrimmages on June 1st, literally running all the way through October. In an attempt to maintain an authentic connection with the ancient sport, game times and park hours are posted on a century-old sign in front of the polo field and are updated weekly. Any inconvenience caused by the lack of internet scheduling is easily mended by the panoramic magnificence of the drive to and from the field. I hope you all enjoy the grounds and games just as much as I have!

I attended Hickory Hall with my family for a Culver Equestrian Fundraiser. The venue and vibe was perfection for the entire family. I can tell it is a very well run organization. I will be sure to return as soon as I can!

if you aren't rich you pretty much get looked down on by the owners. my girlfriend is a groom/works for one of the players here and we definitely get treated differently than the spectators. the person she works for is a stand up dude however, just not the establishment

By far one of the most unique and fun random activities to experience in Indianapolis. For $20, all of which is donated to the chosen charity of the game, you take a car load of kids/family/friends and all the snacks food and beverages )alcohol too!) you want and go watch polo! Want to feel like you're in the movie Pretty Woman? You can dress up or dress way casual- everything goes! The Chapman family has made this hidden gem a really fun experience! There's even a guy who flies over the field in a private plane at halftime and drops candy on the field that has little parachutes attached for the kids!!! If you love instagramming, there's no better place than Hickory Hall!
