My wife and I had dinner at Hard Truth just prior to a show at the Nashville Music Center. Side note: NMC is the best indoor venue in Indiana right now for small-to-medium sized shows. But I digress. This is a terrific place for a dinner, or if you have more time, you can tour the facility, see how their booze is made, and enjoy time on the patio having a few drinks. It was frigid, and we were on a tight timeline, so there was none of that. Dinner, show, home. The dining room is spacious, and they had plenty of servers. However, it was quite busy, and we had to wait about 20 minutes for a table. We told the server we were going to the show, and she suggested we go ahead and order quickly and she'd make sure we were able to get our food, eat and be out on time. My wife ordered the fish and chips, and I wanted to be different, so I ordered the fish and chips with an extra piece of fish. The photo in my review is mine - and there was plenty of fish. I could have had the normal order and would have been happy. Fish was great. As were the fries. She brought malt vinegar without us even needing to ask. She was, by the way, terrific and I wish I could remember her name for the review. Helpful, nice, and very very attentive and prompt. There were plenty of appetizers and desserts we wanted to try, but we were slaves to the show and simply didn't have time to make it happen. On our next trip we'll plan better so we can fully enjoy the menu. All in all, a great choice for dinner in Nashville.

Well my wife and I headed to this place for our annual,Christmas dinner date. We were so excited to head to Brown County Indiana. We try to always go to some place we don't normally go to make it a memorable event. When we arrived through the gate we were excited as the drive in was through a tree lined drive with holiday decorations and lights welcoming us. We decided to start in the tasting/bar area. I sampled 3 seasonal spirits, which were all good. They also had seasonal specials. Which we didn't purchase. We had dinner reservations in a bit so we intended to purchase a seasonal drink there. The person serving as the bar tender/taste attendant was very distant and not very warming with any talk or recommendations, and only responded when asked his preference. He gave us the flight, walked away, as was disinterested in our thoughts or if we enjoyed the selections....he needs a course in customer service and sales. We proceeded to the restaurant, again on the same premises, just in the next building. We asked about the seasonal drinks, assuming they would also be available here....NOPE. Does that make sense? our server was nice enough and made some recommendations. We ordered the pretzel and beer cheese as an appetizer. It was ok, it for $15 it should have been home made and not a frozen item. At least it seemed to be a frozen variety. My wife had the bourbon glazed salmon with roasted Brussels sprouts, salmon was good but the Brussels sprouts were way over cooked and were burnt. I had the bourbon burger which was very good, and tasty. Fries were ok, but wanted the mashed potatoes, but they were $4 as a replacement. I know prices have increased but this seemed like a steep up charge for simply replacing fries with masked potatoes. We would probably not go back. Which is a shame. We had notions of taking family here who are much more the bourbon experts, whom i have given the peanut butter whiskey and they loved. But that can be purchased in many local liquor stores. This would not be a destination spot I would see taking them as it's just so-so. In the economy we are all navigating through these days customer service and logic can go a long way.....why not erve the seasonal drinks in your restaurant too? That makes zero sense.

I've been to Hard Truth twice since posting the original set of photos. My second visit was to take the ATV tasting tour through the woods. On both occasions, I found the food to be average to above-average. My smash burger was very good - no complaints. The tour guides during the ATV excursion were outstanding, and the servers in the restaurant have all been very good as well. The overall site is huge and expansive, and they've really established themselves as a local distillery that offers a wide range of experiences. It's also very close to the Indiana University campus in Bloomington, I'm sure we'll be back many more times.

We did the "Get Lost" ATV tour as part of our anniversary trip to Nashville, and it was such a fun experience! While the price was a bit steep at $70 per person for a 60-90 minute tour, it was worth it. Lucky for us, no one else booked our time slot, so it turned into a private tour. Our guide, Kelsey, was fantastic--knowledgeable, friendly, and just all-around great time. By the end, we were following each other on Instagram! The grounds are stunning, especially in the fall when the scenery is at its peak. During the tour, we got to sample a variety of drinks: a shot of moonshine, a shot of whiskey, half a Quaff On beer, a gin cocktail, and their take on Fireball. Definitely felt like we got our money's worth! Afterward, we headed to the Hard Truth restaurant to enjoy a meal and sober up before driving home.Overall, highly recommend this experience! Kelsey mentioned they also offer other tours throughout the year, including a boat tour--sounds like a perfect excuse to come back next summer!

Great drinks, great ambience (super crowded on weekends, for good reason). The live music is super fun during the summer but the restaurant is fun year round. Pro tip: if you order the maple bourbon chicken sandwich, bring wet wipes for your hands!

I was here with a group. The tour was the distillery tour and tasting. They take you from the grain, to the 140 proof white lightening, to the final product. I am not a drinker, but their main whiskey was pretty good...sort of sweet.I the restaurant area, they offer a decent menu. Our server, Hannah, was very friendly and knowledgeable of some of the specialty drink options. I had the Spicy Bacon Burger. Juicy, spicy and really tasty. The venue also has abundant outdoor seating...being 30 degrees, we passed on that option. They also have an amphitheater for warmer weather music. This will likely be a warm weather return visit. An added bonus, it is 2 minutes from downtown Nashville, Indiana and all the shops. It all made for a very nice trip. For all you Bourbon folks, this is a must see.

Old fashioned master class with Sherri was a lot of fun! Highly recommended. How bad can it be when it ends with an Old Fashioned?!

We stopped in while visiting my father in law in Nashville. It was fairly busy, but we were able to get a nice table outside on the balcony. Our service was spectacular! She went out of her way to make sure everything was perfect! The food was delicious and the drinks were just strong enough!

Every time we come here it is so busy so we just go sit at the bar since there is no wait for it and always have quality service. I asked the server if they had fall inspired cocktails and they did but you had to get at the downstairs bar but could still bring back to your seat. The fall cocktails are so good I def recommend. The pulled pork nachos are always our go to and soooo amazing. They had the place decorated for fall like a pumpkin patch and a live band! Such an amazing atmosphere

The wait staff was attentive and thorough. We did not have a reservation so we waited about 45 minutes for a table. Ambiance is the old factory look. I ordered the meat loaf with tomato gravy with green beans and mashed Yukon gold potatoes. The tomato gravy was spicy and not to my liking. My husband had the pulled pork sandwich with fries. His was good. Overall, a decent experience.
