Handle Bar

Since the Original Lord Jon restraint closed and the Handle bar started making them... it has been my go to place! I always get the large taco salad (I do miss when they used to put the sour cream on in and not give packets.. it tastes different) ... cold beer ... quick service .... And an occasional old timer giving stories on stories in an octave above drowning out your thoughts ... lol see ya soo!

The tacos are 95% as good as the original Lord John's tacos.Prices are reduced on Tuesdays!

An awesome little local "hole in the wall" bar. They have the best tacos! The shells are deep fried and absolutely amazing. For those that are local, they are the old Lord Jon Tacos recipe. Very excited to have found this little gem. They also have carry out if you don't feel like eating in.

The Handle Bar is a real slice of Kokomo's North End. When you sit at the bar, you'll notice a couple of indicators: They sell knives - buck and jack... cause you never know when you're gonna need one. There's a digital calendar that states you must be born on "X" day of "Y" year to be served alcohol. The display is set to show the current time and date, so technically this means someone could be born on the bar and served before the umbilical chord is cut (see also: They sell knives... above).I went for the tacos and I was not disappointed. I liked the place and they have Stella on tap, however I went there for the tacos. I found the tacos to be average. They are cheap and the service was good, but I doubt I would go back.

I would have to say I've heard about these tacos since I have moved to Kokomo. And I have to say they was like eating fried cornbread with non seasoned meat!!! Nasty! The people was not friendly and since I'm a southern gal that was a big disappointment. I would not recommend these tacos to no one. Complete waste of time.

Came here with my gf after I've heard many stories even in different towns how they have the best tacos. We ordered tacos and mozzarella sticks. Inside looks kind of dirty with awkward overly bright lighting and a shady feel. When we got our tacos they were greasy and disappointingly bland. No taste whatsoever. The mozzarella sticks were the same way. It's like they deep fried the flavor out of them or something. We couldn't even stuff them down our throats and felt horrible for the rest of the week. I'm guessing everyone that says the tacos are amazing are completely wasted when they order.

We picked up Tacos and they were very delicious. Service and price was great. Nice spot in Kokomo.

The unique taco shell makes these my favorite tacos in all of Kokomo. The place doesn't look like much and is a tad cold during the winter months but if you looking for great tacos & an ice cold beer this is the place. The staff has always been friendly & courteous no matter how busy they are.
