Gwendolyn Lee Cakery

Of course I had to stop in once they were voted Indy's Best Bakery on Fox59 news. It's a small little shop in downtown Beech Grove, but with big flavor. We got a 4-pack of cupcakes this time but all the cakes on display looked amazing! The owner took our order and was super friendly. We got all the Halloween-themed cupcakes to be seasonal. The cherry chip cupcake was my favorite but they were all delicious!

As the sister and sister-n-law of these wonderful people I can honestly say there is no other place I'd go for my baked needs. Liz is an awesome baker and fabulous decorator. She has made some of the most beautiful, colorful, and meaningful cakes. The shop is very welcoming and friendly and everyone is treated like family.

We have had some cupcakes and now a cake from Gwendolyn Lee. The cake was in the shape of a pot of spaghetti and meatballs for our God Sons 19th Birthday. The cake itself was beautiful. This cake inside was moist and delicious. Our God Son happened to pick one of my favorite cake flavors without knowing ALMOND. I love almond extract in cakes and buttercream but some places can be heavy handed. This was the perfect amount. Beautiful cake and he was so happy. I think his Mom was even happier then he was and excited about the cake. We got hot chocolate bombs from our friends for christmas. I they were really good too.

First time going in while walking around Beech Grove. This place is so precious and the cupcakes are delicious!! Perfect amount of icing and offer great flavors! Super adorable and would be a great location for bridal or baby showers.

Always fresh and delicious! Her buttercream is to die for! I love stopping in and seeing what new flavors she has created. Love the coconut cupcakes.

My boyfriend tried ordering a cake for my birthday and was told unless it was for a large party we couldn't pick what we wanted and that the owner makes what she makes. I've been wanting to try this place and I will never order from here going forward.

Wasn't a fan. We got 4 cupcakes--confetti, chocolate chip, chocolate, and coconut rum. The coconut rum tasted like suntan lotion--they had used fake extract instead of the real thing. Yuk. The other 3 cupcakes were just ok--both the cake and frosting were pretty bland. Don't think we'll be back.

Absolutely AMAZING work. They have amazing cakes/cupcakes with unique flavors. I got my graduation cake from them and was absolutely BLOWN away with the end result. They created a beautiful cake for me and I am beyond happy that I chose them for my special occasion!

I was absolutely in love with the cookies I got from here!! I had just looked up a good place for custom cookies and this bakery popped up so I thought I would try it and I couldn't have been happier :)) They made the cutest "baby on board" themed cookies for a baby shower I had to host. They were very responsive and easy to work with. Will definitely use again for future bakery needs!!

Great service. Delicious cupcakes. Very cute little shop. Extremely professional and kind staff.
