Having frequented Guggman Haus' original west side location several times, I can say it's a solid spot with great beer and a unique vibe. However, it's never quite been my go-to destination. The layout felt a bit spread out, which made connecting with bartenders or striking up conversations with strangers a bit challenging -- something I enjoy in a bar setting. That said, it's not a bad spot by any means, just one I personally find less intimate.Recently, I visited their new location in Sobro, and wow -- what a difference! I had a fantastic experience that completely changed my perception of Guggman Haus. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and exactly what I look for in a bar. Sam, our bartender, was phenomenal. He was attentive without being overbearing, picking up on when someone needed something or had a question, and he delivered service with genuine care. I had a great conversation with him, which added so much to my visit. To top it off, I even met one of the brewer/owners' parents, who were incredibly sweet and welcoming. That kind of personal touch really sets a place apart. The beer? Outstanding. I'm not always a big fan of sours, but the two I tried were incredible -- Guggman Haus clearly knows what they're doing with their brewing process. I also really respect that the owners prioritize quality over quantity, discarding batches that don't meet their high standards and carefully avoiding cross-contamination between beer styles. That level of craftsmanship shows in every sip.The food was just as impressive. I tried the caprese sandwich, which you can order with capicolo meat -- an excellent addition. The rest of the menu sounded equally delicious, and I'm already looking forward to trying more dishes on my next visit.Overall, Guggman Haus' new Sobro location is a huge win in my book. It combines everything I love in a bar: great service, an inviting atmosphere, quality beer, and delicious food. I'll definitely be back for more!

I'm a big fan of Guggman Haus Brewery and their terrific vibe that continues at this 46th and College taproom that previously hosted Scarlet Lane. This is in the building that also houses Root & Bone. This is a family friendly setting with high-top bar seating and tables inside and during warm weather an outside seating area that is pet friendly. As you should expect, this features Guggman Haus brews along with a fairly simple yet appealing food menu. For brews, you can get pints, half-pints, and cans to go. There's a pretty wide selection ranging from my preference of darker brews and stouts to IPAs, sours, and others. You'll also see a nice selection of German-influenced brews as one of the co-owners spent time in Germany. I'm a fan of the Biergarten Days Munich Dunkel and Wilbur's Prize Pilsner. While the racing influence is a bit less here (the Guggman headquarters is located in the historic Boyle Racing building), it's still present and it always makes me smile. The food menu includes snacks, shareables, light sandwiches (with chips), and they do have Coke products. There's no iced tea (a bummer for me), though they do have lemonade and juice boxes for kids. Guggman employees are friendly without exception. This location is relatively small and they are first-come, first-serve (no reservations). There's an ordering station at the bar. I was bummed when Scarlet Lane had to leave this spot and I'm quite pleased that Guggman has taken it over and they seem to be doing steady business. Parking is relatively simple, though does require a bit of extra effort for wheelchair users like myself as it's either street parking, a lot across the street, or the small lot around the building. Because I require wheelchair access, I tend to go to the lot across the street to make sure I have enough room. This really is a cool little corner with Guggman Haus, Root & Bone, and Gallery Pastry Shop. This is also accessible via the Red Line.

Best beers in the city. Riverside is a solid choice, and their milkshake IPAs are always amazing. (Just wish they were year round!) service is always fast and friendly. Bar staff is generally the same few people, which makes me feel the founders must treat workers well too. I wish there was a better baby changing table in the bathroom, but other than that I'm so happy Guggman opened in the neighborhood.

Really missed the bar that used to be here, but this is much better. They make great beer here and I have been a Big fan of the taproom downtown. They really took a leap opening the first location in a somewhat depressed area with light manufacturing around. But the beer is so good, they overcame a became and became a beacon of the near northwest area of downtown. Same beer here and they have Trivia on tuesdays!!! Show up early because I here it gets crazy crowded. The coffee stout is extremely good and worth a try.

Very happy to have Guggman Haus within walking distance of us. The space remains largely unchanged and it was busy on a Sunday night. We each had a beer and I love that they have great sours! I was even happier to see they already have the kitchen up and running. We got the pretzel which comes with a cheese sauce and sweet mustard. Delicious! We each got the buffalo chicken panini which is very much like a very saucy dip and a slice of cheese. It was incredibly cheesy and became a little messy due to this. Wish it was a bit less runny but delicious nonetheless. Big enough that I have half for leftovers.

We have needed a spot just like Guggman in the area for awhile. First, there is great beer. Their IPA selection is one of the best (special shoutout to the 46th hazy). The food selection is great and the staff is super friendly. This is a great place to post up with friends and play some games.

Cute place with a few tables outside for a patio. Very small venue but makes use of every space. They have a lot of brews and stouts and a few ciders from Ash & Elm. Tonight there was a food truck outside and it wasn't a delicious addition to the cider. The bartender was super friendly and let us try the ciders and gave his recommendation. I would definitely be back.

Our knitting group has been going to the original West side location for several years now - I was happy to see that now there is a second location in Broad Ripple in the former Scarlet Lane spot. The space is smaller, but the beer menu is comparable. I did not order any food this time, but I will certainly check out the options next time.Parking is available on 46th street or there is a small parking lot behind the building.

Endlich!!!! The stars have finally aligned and Guggman is in our neighborhood. This place is small, but mighty. The best Hefe in town is now closer than ever. The vibes are what you expect, busy and cozy! The food is small kitchen at its best. The panini offerings are on point. I do wish they had fries, but you can't go wrong with a pretzel! They do allow children, which is on brand for their family and I respect that. It can get full quick so get here when you normally like to go for a drink to feel out the room. I recommend walking or biking! Prost!
