I attended an Indy Rainbow Chamber After Hours event at Gallery Forty-Two. The building dates to 1830 and has been loving restored. There are new owners who are just getting into the art and event space business, their passion for the building and potential for the space shone through when we were talking to them. Bill gave us a tour of all 4 floors, explaining some of the art on display and detailing his plans for the spaces not yet finished. Gallery Forty-Two is going to be the perfect venue for weddings, its so close to Monument Circle it provides the perfect backdrop for weddings pictures downtown. There are lots of details and textures such as exposed brick and original doors that make for amazing photo ops inside also. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. This makes me want to renew my vows so I have a reason to book an event here. They do events on 2nd Fridays (instead of 1st Fridays to avoid competing with so many other downtown events) from 6-9pm. Go check out this stunning piece of downtown history, and enjoy the art at the same time!

High end gallery some very interesting pieces. If you want to look around or are looking for something for you our a gift. Art is of course very subjective ... what one person loves .. another might dislike but I saw a lot here that I thought was interesting.

This is my favorite gallery! It's a high-end art gallery with pieces in the tens of thousands of dollars. The owners are wonderful; I've had the pleasure of talking to Nick a few times. Even though I am definitely not a potential customer (I work in nonprofits and definitely could not afford anything lol), Nick takes the time to give the backgrounds on the artists, their styles, and discussion of the pieces. They have a lot of wonderful art!

What a fantastic space. The artwork is just incredible, and offers such a feast for the eyes! I attended a social reception at Gallery Forty-Two and from the moment we stepped inside it was like being immersed in a sensory wonderland. As an event venue, it had plenty of comfortable yet elegant areas for easy conversation and mingling, and the staff was just a delight. What a wonderful rebirth for this historic downtown landmark. If you're looking for an extra special place to host your next event you will definitely want to check them out!

We had our wedding here and it was a great time. The space is beautiful and it was ideal for our smallish wedding (about 80 guests). The layout of the building made the space very interesting, I liked that guests could be seated on both the first and second floors. The bar is huge and vintage and very nice looking, it is on the second floor and very convenient for guests. The owners have a lot of cool things that help make this place look amazing like different lighting, ambient lights, a personalized projected monogram, a built in sound system with a wireless microphone, and so much more convenient little things. We couldn't have picked a better place!

Words can't describe how much I love this place ! This beautiful and sophisticated venue is forever etched in my heart. I got married last month at Galley Forty-Two and couldn't be happier with our decision to book there. The place looks great since it usually functions as an art gallery; so, it definitely did not need a lot of decorations. Curt, one of the partners, was beyond amazing to work with. He was so patient and generous the entire time. He listened to what we wanted and made sure that he delivered! He is extremely professional, laid back, and just a joy to work with. Gallery Forty-two not only books weddings but also events for many other occasions. If you're looking for a place that doesn't require many decorations and has a responsive team, this is your place!!

I came to Gallery Forty-Two for an event. I was quite impressed. The Gallery is a perfect place to host a small to medium formal gathering. The art selection is beautiful (expensive) and a welcome break from uncomfortable small talk and schmoozing.

Kinda seemed like someones pricate collection rather than a legitimate art gallery. Very commercial-forward display. Seems more about the hustle than the art. The majority of the pieces and the spiel from them the tour guide were all from and about 1 artist. Clearly the mediocre sculpt the whole place revolves around is a better capitalist than artist. It is a form of performance art to watch the Emperor's sales team sell the story about his clothing though! Can't wait to make fun of what this cult does next!!!

My wife and I had our wedding here and we were sincerely humbled by the helpful service of Curt and Nick through the whole process. They were so accommodating to our needs and requests and truly went the extra mile in service. I'll give you one example - the morning of our wedding my wife forgot to get orange juice for mimosas to drink in the bridal suite. Nick simply heard us say "Shoot, we forgot orange juice" and he left the building and bought it on his own and brought it upstairs for us. The best way I can describe working with this venue is that it feels like your close friends or family members happen to own an art gallery they are letting you use for your special event.
