There's something about neighborhood parks - quiet, easily accessible and not too crowded. I got out on a good weather day today and enjoyed a good 1 hour walk around the different trails. There's a football field with small bleachers and a variety of different plants, flowers and pathways to appeal to senses of all abilities. And I was so impressed with the set up. There's small bridges dotting the park and a kids play area. There's a couple entrance points so it isn't confusing if you don't get through one. There was limited foliage with the time being December nevertheless it was a breath of fresh air getting out!

This park is nestled into a neighborhood and offers a new playground, huge grassy field, and rugby/football field. There are a few mini bridges that go over a stream and it's nice to have this much open space to explore. It makes for the perfect walk. The playground seemed really fun and the only thing that confused us was the life-size wind chimes, which I'm sure the neighbors don't love - haha!

This was a nice little park. Not a ton of activity and be aware that there is no public restroom. There was a single portolet to use, but I just can't bring myself to use them. My daughter enjoyed some parts, but as a toddler it was a bit too big for her

Freedom Trail is a park that focuses on having a playground that is inclusive for all children. You will find lots of unique pieces of equipment that are accessible to children of all physical conditions. The plant life in the area was selected so that the "plants, flowers and pathways of this garden" would encourage you to "look, listen, smell and touch!".The park has been maintained well and has ample parking. However, the park has a lot of underdeveloped property including the lack of restrooms and running water. The area near the football and soccer fields is not accessible easily by anyone who has physical challenges since you can't drive down to that area of the park and must either negotiate the hill or walk along a gravel path. It makes the park seem like a work in progress beyond the playground.Review #763

I can't believe this park wasn't even listed on Yelp, let alone reviewed until now. Freedom Trail Park is great! It is unique because it's one of the only parks in the area that was built specifically for children of all abilities, including those on the autism spectrum. For instance: * The swings area has two special seat-type swings with drop-down harnesses for those that can't sit without assistance (think of those harnesses that are on roller coasters -- you know the ones). * One of the two play structures has ramps that go all the way up to the top, for people in wheelchairs or who need walking assistance.* There's an area that's very sensory integrated, with a huge musical chime that tolls when you play with it. There's also a "sensory garden" with tall, soft brush that kids can touch or hide in. In the same area are teepees made out of wire and plants (another great quiet hiding/resting area). * Off to the side is a sand table, which is just the right height for someone in a wheelchair to play in. The sand is super soft and clean! It's great to see a park and playground that is so inclusionary, with fun things for everyone to do.

This is a nice little park tucked back in the heart of Westfield. They have a great play area(ADA accessible) and a huge open field for sports surrounded by a gravel walking trail. A couple of things that were so great was the lack of options for kids under 3-4. There are some pretty high spots on the playground, and all the slides are pretty steep. The other thing was the lack of shade, there's a shade canopy with a couple benches under it and a picnic table under a tree, but that's it. I know those are minor details, but it's my perspective as a dad of a 2 year old. We'll definitely come back in a couple years when she can go down the slide on her own.
