Decided to head to Danville and have dinner at Frank's Place tonight. Amazingly I had never been previously.Parking was easy enough if you can get a spot on the square which we did.Great atmosphere. You can easily hear your dining partners for some great conversation, which was nice. Complimentary bread and oil is provided. The bread was fresh and warm out of the oven.I stayed simple (as I usually do when trying a new to me place) and had the spaghetti and meatballs. I substituted the minestrone soup instead of salad.The soup came in a small cup and was OK.The meatballs were OK as well, but not outstanding. I didn't think they were particularly seasoned/flavorful. (I also like meatballs with a little bit of a sear on them, which these did not have - but that's just a personal preference).The marinara was flavorful but not overpowering and the pasta was cooked perfectly.My dining partner had the Fettuccine Carbonara, which looked great. She said the sauce was very creamy and flavorful and loaded with thin sliced ham.She also had the dessert special which was a bourbon, yellow cake with white ganache frosting. She said it was very good. Portion size was just right and not too much after an Italian meal.Service was excellent and very attentive without being too much.I'm not sure how I had not been to Frank's Place before but I suspect I will be going back soon.

Visited this location with some family over the summer. Overall, the experience was just ok, nothing special. Starting with the positives, the staff were incredibly nice, accommodating, and patient with our party of eight. They were quick to get us anything we needed, and checked in multiple times. We had two young children with us, and this was a great place to bring them. The location is really nice, and the restaurant itself is clean and well cared for. The food however, was a let down. It wasn't the worst, but definitely not the best in terms of Italian. There were some weird choices, such as drowning salad in shredded cheese (not even good cheese). The food lacked flavor (the gnocchi in tomato sauce), and some of the portions were small (the salmon & asparagus), especially for the price. Overall, this restaurant was ok. We might give it another shot in the future, to see if other dishes are better.

I had high hopes for a new Italian food location. Unfortunately it didn't live up to our hopes. Common theme, flavor and seasoning deficient. Service was ok, waitress didn't have any idea what the bar served in whiskey or bourbon. Timing was ok, definitely didn't have to wait long. I ordered minestrone which I believe is always a weather vain on how the main courses would be and it was true to form. Little flavor and seasoning deficient. I had the veal Marsala which was good but not exceptional, too much Marsala used. My wife had their version of ZD and found the sauce lacking flavor and not a reason to have it again. Overall a C- but the framework is there for this restaurant to be a secret to find

I arrived at 12 noon on a Friday and was seated immediately. They were about half full in the dining room but it didn't seem like they were that busy. I found a parking place almost directly in front of the restaurant on the street. I did like glass topped tables.Even though it is a pizza place, they have a lot more to offer than just pizza, calzones, and salads. I thought about the Minestrone soup but I ended up ordering the Meat Lasagna. It was a pretty big portion and came with a pre buttered roll. The lasagna was excellent! It was loaded with meat, not overwhelmed with cheese and included a generous amount of marinara sauce.Service was great. Fast, prompt, and accurate. The restroom was clean and stocked. There is a wheelchair ramp from the sidewalk up to the level of the front door but the door might be a tad stiff for some people.

During the summer Danville Indiana does a First Friday cruise in on the square. We were there for the cruise in and decided to go to Frank's Place. We have been to this restaurant before but it had been many many years ago. From past visits I remembered that I liked the bruschetta so that is what I ordered. It was $10 for 6 pieces of toasted French bread with a mix of tomatoes olive oil and basil. It also come with feta cheese but I asked for it on the side cause my husband can't have dairy. I really enjoyed it. My husband ordered a small deluxe pizza with no cheese. It had a ton of toppings on it. They give every table complementary bread and olive oil dip. It was very tasty. The olive oil was flavorful but I have no clue what it was seasoned with. We were a group of five and walked in at 5:00 pm and were seated immediately. By the time we left the restaurant was packed and there we people waiting to be seated. I can see us returning next month when we are back for the cruise in.

Amazing. Was really excited to try Frank's Place and it did not disappoint. Food was incredible. Our server Caitlin was fantastic. You get a lot of food with your meal. Started with the Caprese antipasti followed by the Torellini Salsa Avorio which was so good. It came with a salad to start which was very tasty. Will be back!

Glass table was a nice touch. Pizza was fanomonal. Service was great for it being a weekend. Large portions of food. Salad seemed super fresh. Very nice for it being my 1st time there. Carot cake was a smidgen dry but for the price wasn't disappointed
