Great Day for what may be the last round of the year! Great Course!

We booked a tee time a little after 1pm on a Saturday afternoon in September. When my boyfriend had gone in to pay for our tee time he mentioned how the guy at the front desk was a bit rude which rubbed him the wrong way. They were extremely backed up, we teed up 15 minutes after our original tee time and the round of 18 took close to 5 and a half hours! On the turn I came inside to use the restroom and I asked the guy at the front where it was because I had not been to this course before. He rolled his eyes and then pointed in the direction of the bathroom, didn't say a thing. I realized this was the same rude/grumpy guy that my boyfriend had dealt with earlier that day. Randomly we had some friends playing four holes behind us. Because of my experience with this guy as well as my boyfriends, I asked them what they thought of the check in experience and paying for their round of golf. He said that the guy was so rude to him he would not be coming back to this course. He has played here several times and enjoyed the course, but because of how rude the guy was at the front he won't be coming back. Unless the manager addresses the situation with their staff, needless to say we won't be coming back either.

Leg 3 of the July 4th 54 hole golf bender...nice 27 hole municipal that has held its length well for the 45 years it has been around. Very much enjoy playing here and will return.Pretty well maintained for a municipal with greens that I find roll faster than anything else I've played in the area. Fairways are fair and mostly tree lined. Never really any doubt as to where you are supposed to hit the ball on this course...few blind shots or similar. 6400 from the whites and feels every bit if it. No GPS or similar so bring an app or be prepared to look for yardage markers (very large stakes are at 150).Pace of play is really the only concern here...sometimes can be extremely slow. Fortunately very quick for a Saturday this year. Beautiful weather for first week of July never hurts.

We arrived to the course around 2:20 and teed off around 2:35. We played a normal round, albeit a little slow because we let a few twosomes pass up so we didn't hold up traffic. At 6:30, we teed off on 18, and a woman from the pro shop came out and yelled at us to bring the carts in. We asked her if we could finish, and she yelled at us more and accused us of playing extra holes. We explained we didn't play extra holes, we had only been out there for about 4 hours (including a 30 minute break to eat after 9) and that we had let people pass through and were not informed of any pace of play rules. She said she didn't care and that we had played extra holes and blocked us from continuing to play. We took the carts in, without finishing, and noticed that she was already in her car ready to leave. It leaves a horrible taste in your mouth when you get kicked off a course so the woman working can leave before we can finish, even though we paid for a full 18 holes. We will definitely be taking our business elsewhere, and advising our friends to do the same.

employees were very rude to my group for being slow even though the course was extremely backed up.

If it would let me give a negative i would. Clearly mismanaged. Takes 6 hours plus to play a round because they over book and move your tee times without asking. The management is rude and degrades those golfers of lower skills to other golfers. There are 6 other courses nearby. Do yourself a favor and go to one of those.

Very well-maintained wonderful old school golf course open to the public. 27 holes have very large greens which are surprisingly fast for a public course. Heavily wooded not a lot of water but very interesting design on quite a few of the holes. Be prepared for lots of long par fours. Great prices low-key staff just a wonderful place to play

Great public course with amazing greens! Make sure to try out the West 9 at some point because it's always in great shape too

A great place to spend a walk in the park while playing nine holes of golf. Course is usually in good shape, priced right, and while the Pro shop is minimal, the staff is always friendly and willing to accommodate the no tee times "walk on"

STAY AWAY FROM FOX PRAIRIE GOLF COURSE... UNRULY patrons AND manager. This past weekend, I and two others booked a tee time at Fox Prairie golf course. As we were playing, the pair behind us were getting close so we let them by. We then continued to play the next couple holes keeping an appropriate pace behind the pair. Suddenly, we were yelled at from the tee box behind us to "hurry up" and "stop jumping holes." They then came up to us still yelling very aggressively about us jumping holes. We tried to explain to them that we let the people in front of them by and were now closely following them but they did not listen. Things continued to escalate as they wouldn't let us explain. Specifically, I was called a "fa**ot" for "not getting out of my golf cart." I made it clear to them that I was not trying to get into a physical altercation on a golf course and drove away.I then called the pro shop to alert them that I felt unsafe on the golf course and something had to be done. Of course when they showed up (understandably so) it turned into a "he said she said" situation. However the truly sad part was, the manager was very little help and told us to "continue to play" and that "no further contact" between the groups were to be made. I told him I did not feel comfortable with that for safety reasons and he then started rudely raising his voice saying "there's nothing else he can do."At this point, I gathered my things and left the course. I completely understand, from his point of view, that when an argument happens that he's not around for, it's hard to tell who the aggressors were. But there is a way to handle things and a way not to. At the very least, he should've understood that SOMEBODY in the altercation was threatening physical harm and that more action needed to be taken. Not to mention, he should have kept his composure towards his customers.I have been golfing for over 15 years and have never even come close to having an altercation... I definitely will not be back and HIGHLY recommend staying away from this course.
