While I love this particular mural on the Gomez BBQ and the 18th St Brewery, I have to give it only 4 stars instead of the 5 possibles. This is simply due to the fact that now there is a fence around it obstructing the view. To make matters worse, there are open umbrellas blocking your view even more. With that said, it is now impossible to take a decent picture of this mural. A shame really because this mural is gorgeous.

I had not heard of muck rock until she came to indy in 2019 and painted a number of great pieces around the city. This gem is located on 10th street and on the side of Gomez bbq, it's an awesome combination of colors! I've always had a like of skulls (emo kid for life) and this is a combo of the Gomez bbq and 18th street brewery logos. (Both awesome places in themselves) Check out this art if you can, there are some other great pieces around 10th street as well as around the city! I think each piece of muck rocks art is unique and different.

There is a lot going on here. This is another mural done by world renowned artist Jules Muck, aka MuckRock during here 2019 residency in Indy. She has a lot of murals around the City that you can view. The mural was said to be inspired by the logos of the nearby new businesses, Gomez BBQ (two crossed logs with three streams of ascending smoke ending with stars) and 18th Street Brewery (a skull), and portrays two types of fire, controlled and uncontrolled. depicts a scull with lightning bolts coming out of its eye sockets and burning log fire with 3 stars center on it. It is a wild mural. It is located on the side of Gomez Barbecue overlooking a small parking lot. So, parking and getting out to get a closer look at this mural is simple and easy, if that is what you want to do.As with most all murals that I have reviewed, this is probably not a very long stop. I was there less than 3 minutes. You may want to consider planning out additional stops at many of the other wonderful murals in the area, like KISS Kittens, to maximize your time and trip.

With two new businesses ready to open in the space that was formerly Love Handle, it seemed appropriate that artist Jules MuckRock Muck added a mural that combined the two logos into an art installation on the west wall of the building.Gomez BBQ which has a shop in the City Market has a campfire as their logo.18th Street Brewery is based in Gary/Merrillville and has skulls in their logo. Both businesses are coming to the location in fall 2019 (last I checked) and the mural ties into both. The left side of the mural has a grinning skull with lightning bolts shooting from the eye sockets. The right side has a blazing log fire. The artist's signature "Muck Rock" is emblazoned on the forehead of the skull.Fortunately, there is a parking lot on the west side of the building that allows a sight line for the mural from the street. The main parking for the businesses will be in the lot on the south side of the building and or using the free street parking along 10th.Review #2936
