Our homeschool group meets at this park often, and it's a big hit between the kids and the parents. Beyond having fun, interesting play equipment, there is also more than plenty of seating for parents and caretakers. There are half a dozen tables for picnicking or getting some work done, right beside the playground. Then there are also plenty of nice bench seating built in throughout the play equipment. It makes it nice for those who need to be close by for little ones or just a comfortable spot in the shade. There are also some nice walking trails and a creek bed to investigate. We have yet to check out the pool, but it does look fun. Overall, this is a really nice little park for families and groups.

This park on the east end of Danville's downtown is a great addition to the town's appeal. There is an aquatic center and basketball courts on the west end. There are baseball fields and an old school wooden playground with lots of places to climb and hide in the middle. The east end of the park has a shelter with its own playground and there is an amphitheater and hiking trails through the woods. The park seems to be very functional, but is definitely showing signs of aging. I hope the town can invest in maintaining the existing gem they already have. Review #727

This is one of my favorite parks in the area! It is huge with several different areas. The main playground is wooden and looks like a castle. There are tons of slides, swings, and places to run and hide on. I would say it's more suitable for school age kids, but there are some things the little ones can do. One of my favorite parts about the park is that there are SO many places to sit inside and outside the play area. There are so many benches and picnic tables that it can handle it even on the busiest days. There are a lot of paved trails that are great for walking or biking. There is a creek that actually seems really clean. Some of the trails go along it and there are bridges too. The location is awesome -- right next to a nice pool with slides. There are football fields, baseball diamonds, basketball courts, big grassy areas, and a small amphitheater. I know in the winter they put up a bunch of Christmas lights and you can drive through it. I think they also have fireworks and some other activities that go on. The only reason it's not 5 stars are the bathrooms. It's a small walk from the main play area and they are not very clean. But hey, parks never really have the nicest bathrooms.

Large outdoor park with walking trails and playground castle type structure for kids. Also includes big outdoor amphitheater picnic area that is under remodel construction and near completion. Basketball, Tennis, and Volley ball courts plus baseball diamonds and other fields for sports are also on site. There is an adjacent outdoor water park and several shelters with grills for picnics. During the holidays the trail is set up with lights for Danville Winterland fundraiser drive-through but is open and free to walk during the day. Several walking bridges at the park cross over White Lick Creek including a good sized wooden swinging cable suspension bridge. (Think Raiders of the Lost Ark). The swinging bridge alone makes this park worth a visit.

Not a bad park. It is a nice place to bring your dog for a walk, and they have a decent play area for kids. Their shelters could certainly use some major cleanup though. People have busted out the glass on the shelters, and over the years the shelters have been neglected when it comes to proper care. Overall it's not a bad park, but there are certainly a few things that could easily be made better for the public to safely enjoy.

Went to swim at this location. I've been to the park but never the pool. Pool isn't very big but for the price it was decent. $5 entry fee per person. It has a splash pad, kids area, lazy river, two slides, and deep end with diving board. No food allowed down in the pool area but they have a concession. Concession area is decently priced as well with good combos. Pizza was not worth it in my opinion but the pretzel definitely was. Not a lot of seating in the pool area so get there early.
