This is the food truck for foodies. How many places in Indianapolis can you get authentic arepas? Probably less than half a dozen. And how many will be just steps outside your office? If you're lucky, the answer is 1. This one.A big meaty arepa for under $10? Yes please.

I have a family member who is from Venezuela and she makes handmade arepas and empanadas for family functions. These are just as good as hers and are stuffed full of meat. I cant wait to try their empanadas one day. My only complaint is they dont come to the west side of town and are rarely downtown which is primarily where I am. I would stop for these any chance I could. I recommend them to everyone I know. Dont snooze on this food truck. Its delicious hand made food fast!!!

Incredible. We are still thinking about the shredded beef empanadas 24 hours later. Beyond the empanadas, there's the extremely friendly staff, tempting arepas and smart pricing... What a delightful find to see Venezuelan good truck at Daniel's Vineyard when we pulled up to salsa night in McCordsville. The shredded beef empanada was so good that I walked away trying to plan a birthday party that would include this food truck. The beef was beautifully seasoned and the cornmeal outer layer was soft and generously sized. They're based out of the north side of Indy but I hope to see them around downtown more.

I had an arepa with shredded beef, plantains and black beans. It was delicious and the truck was a great addition to the food offerings at the Broad Ripple Art Fair. The meat was flavorful and nicely seasoned, and the beans and plantains went nicely with it. The corn wrap was fresh and tasty as well. The only tricky thing was that they didn't have any utensils, so it was a little tricky to eat. I get that this is supposed to be food you can pick up and eat like a sandwich, but the beans made a run for it, and I ended up shamelessly eating beans and shredded beef with my fingers. I stayed far away from the art while doing this. Some might be put off by the $8 price per arepa, but I found the portion large enough for a light lunch. Putting the prices on the sign might be helpful though, as I overheard a few customers with sticker shock when told the total of the items they ordered.

So 2 weekends ago I went to Gencon, and on the last day I decided to get a hearty breakfast at El Venezolano. Tried arepas for the first time ever (I know, what kind of life have I been living?), and it was such an amazing foodgasm that once I got back to Chicago I decided to get some arepas just to recall this experience.I realized then that not all arepas were made the same. This unassuming food truck in Indiana had far. superior. arepas. than the ones in Chicago. So here I am, sitting dejectedly in a nice air-conditioned space, sulking about the more expensive and inferior arepas I just ate, reminiscing about El Venezolano like an ex that got away. Slim chance I'll be in Indiana anytime again soon, but I don't know, I just might drive 3 hours down for some arepas... Anyway, if you're in Indianapolis, don't miss it. It's pretty life-changing.

While attending an event on the north side/Carmel, I noticed a lone food truck had set up on the south end of the market place. It was my first time trying El Venezolano and I was pleased. I don't eat at food trucks often since they tend to have a limited menu compared to brick and mortar restaurants, but the description of the Arepas that were being offered convinced me to give one a try.I went with the Pollo (Seasoned Shredded Chicken) Arepa which comes with a condiment size cup of sauce. The arepa is a gluton-free corn cake (about as thick as a pancake) that is folded like a taco and STUFFED with the meat of choice. The sauce, a creamy mint colored option added some moisture, though I wasn't aware of the change in flavor compared to the rest of the entree.Plenty to eat; plenty of large pieces of white chicken breast, a mild seasoning and the sauce was enough to be filling. It might have been nice to have some sides offered, but I didn't see any.I think if I see them again, I will try one of the beef options that I see are recommended on other reviews.Review #2656

After a few somewhat disappointing days at the GenCon food trucks, I was eager for a win. El Venezolano was exactly the win I'd been hoping for. While I was craving Indian on the final day of the con, the line for Dhaba Indy was just too much for me to bear, given the time I had before my final event of the con. But, El Vene caught my eye earlier in the week, and I hadn't managed to make it there as I (futilely) went in search of a stromboli. As such, I knew exactly where I was going to go.And man, it was worth the wait. I ended up ordering an arepa with chicken and cotija cheese, as well as an order of tequenos: a delectable Venezualan take on cheese sticks. In both cases, the flavors were outrageously good, with just a touch of heat and the cooling creaminess of the cheese. I will absolutely be heading back to El Vene the next time that I'm in Indy; they're now one of the two spots I'll *always* go to, if given the chance. Give these guys a run!

Extremely fresh and delicious, there's nothing like this here in Indianapolis. You really need to go check this place out! You must try the pabellón ! It was very unique and very flavorful, it is nothing like anything I have ever tried before and I have traveled quite a bit! Whenever you get a chance you need to go here, or follow them on Instagram
