Great shows.Insanely expensive drinks.I had a double 'can you make me something good?' And a popcorn. $21. I got off easy! The people sitting behind me, who I eavesdropped on, got a bottle of water and a glass of wine. $19 dollars! So obviously I highly recommend the 'can you make me something good' double and the popcorn. Or, smuggle booze in, in plastic trial size containers. Or drink after the show & white knuckle it all the way thru. Maybe the attorney general needs to look into them for price gouging, idk.

The venue itself is beautiful, I've seen countless shows here. I really don't like their cashless system at all. I wasn't given ant notice about it and that complicated my experience a little bit. That system isn't common enough to feel simple or understandable in my opinion.

I have seen a lot of shows at the Egyptian Room over the years. For music shows, it's a general admission standing room only set up. For comedy shows, seats are brought in. Either way, is a large open space designed to fit a large number of people. The decor does indeed have an Egyptian theme, bizarre as that may sound. I'm sure there is a reason for this, but I'd be lying if I said I knew what it was or was willing to research the answer. Let's go ahead and get the bad things about this venue out of the way. This is a Ticketmaster/Live Nation venue. Therefore, if you buy tickets online, you are going to pay exorbitant service fees. You don't have to be happy with it, but at this point you have to live with it. Similarly, every other aspect possible will be overpriced, from drinks to the paltry selection of food. The restrooms nearest the Egyptian room are too small and become filthy very quickly on the show night. No one seems to make an effort to clean them during events at all. And because it is standing room only, if you are short, your sight lines are not going to be good. But there are quite a few good things to cover here. Quite simply, the venue gets a lot of good acts. The biggest acts obviously are too big to play here, but a lot of folks can draw and draw well in this venue. It is also in a pretty cool area of downtown Indianapolis. There are some good restaurants within walking distance, and parking is generally not a huge problem. Not a favorite venue of mine, but a place I nonetheless frequent because it brings so many acts I enjoy to the area.

Cool spot for concerts that are more intimate. We saw The Revivalists here and it was great! Tons of space because it's standing room only. Ample bars inside the room and throughout the Old National Centre. They have two side VIP sections with table service but the tickets are pretty pricey. I'm 5'4" and we were toward the back half and I still had a great view.

Out of the three theatres in the Old National Centre, this is my favorite venue for general admission shows. It's big, but still feels homey once the band and crowds are there. You have the option to buy more expensive / VIP tickets and sit on the side of the crowd for a better view of the stage. The sound is good; the venue and lighting is pretty. The only downfall: the bathrooms. The Murat and the Egyptian share the same bathrooms at times when both venues have shows going on, so (especially for women), the bathroom lines get incredibly long and that's time you could possibly lose of seeing the band playing. Other than that, it's a good venue, but definitely nothing amazing. It's where the bigger acts come (no current Taylor Swift or Justin Bieber. Think Walk the Moon, Imagine Dragons, etc.)

Do not attend an event in this venue if it involves seating rather than general admission standing. Seats are tiny. I have attended dozens of events in other venues and was shocked at the provided seating. Attended Dave Mason concert on March 5, 2020.

The Egyptian Room at the MURAT (refuse to call it the current corporately sponsored name) is basically a huge room, ideally designed for general admission shows where you buy a ticket and people stand or whatever. I think the capacity is a bit under 1k or so so this is a good mid-sized venue for bands who are too big to do a show at The Vogue but can't fill the Murat Theater or Conseco/Deer Creek. Depending on the event, they may or may not have seats set up. Last time I was here, there were seats for general admission and bleachers as well. Ticket prices are usually fairly affordable. Yes, the concessions are outrageous, but you're a captive audience. What do you expect?Throughout the year companies may hold their own private events at the Egyptian Room.

A beautiful space. I attended the Pulse/Orlando vigil and thought it was just so pretty. It's a small and more intimate venue but easily fits a large crowd. The vigil had 300 or so in attendance and there was still space. Walking up to the room and near the bathrooms there are great lounges and lots of bar stations.

I went to the Miss Maggie Rogers concert on 4/06/19. The concert could not have been better, however the security guard was incredibly rude to us. Before the show, he gave me false information about the time that the fast lane would be let in the doors. After the show, a bunch of dedicated fans were waiting for Maggie and he manipulated us and told us Miss Rogers was not coming and didn't care about her fans.
