Downtown Diner

This is a very good place to eat breakfast or lunch. Lunch specials each day. Service is friendly and fast. I enjoy breakfast for lunch. Burgers are good and you can add an egg. Very busy at lunch. Everything was cooked perfectly. Old style restaurant that is very clean and welcoming. Abbi is such a professional waitress. Always checks back at the table and brings refills just when you need one. Such a great place.

Who decided to crush Captain Crunch and make double dipped french toast?! The Downtown Diner did! My son ordered this and I gave it a shot. Wow I'm going to try to learn how to make this at home. It's so great. This creativity would be why I love family owned diners. I am a complete gravy snob. I am from the school that you should only have white gravy with sausage in the morning. If I walk in a place and see brown gravy, I won't even try it. I believe brown gravy is for meat at lunch or dinner. So if you desire to visit the Mecca of white gravy like I do... This is your place! Soft biscuits, flavorful gravy but not greasy....perfection. Great breakfast stop! I also love people watching. Everyone seem to know everyone else's name, there were tables of regulars and everybody said goodbye to one little child who was visiting with a grandparent. Such a great vibe

Service is quick. Servers are helpful and friendly and the food is good. And the customers are great!

Food is good, great "diner" options. They sell out of their daily specials if you show up too late in the day. The place is typically packed.

Haven't been here in a while and just a bit disappointed. It smells like it's time to change the fry oil . Not appetizing. My husband just went to the mens room and it's backed up .I ordered well done hash browns which were well done enough but tasted like fish yuck . The first bacon I received was incinerated in the middle . The replacement was only over cooked in the middle and undercooked at the edges . What a disappointment.

I eat here often. It's always busy. Staff always friendly. Coffee never empty. Today there was a mistake with my order. They fixed it immediately. And above and beyond. They sent me a whole new plate. Most places just replace whatever was in error. Top notch. Thank u!

One of my favorite local go too,s. Affordable, simple, decent always. Usually pretty crowded with locals. A very Frankfort place lol. Not much to look at but don't be afraid it's a nice place

Date of visit: 05/13/2024The service was excellent, and the coffee good. What ruined our dining experience here was that the scrambled eggs were overdone, flabby, and chopped to bits with the cook's spatula. (We know how to cut eggs ourselves; we are adults.) The pancakes were raw in the middle -- maybe the batter was too thick, but they arrived to the table cold and crumbly. We were really disappointed after having heard how good this dinner was.

Great food, great service and the prices were very reasonable. I was passing thru Frankfort on my was to Kokomo me and my grandson had a great breakfast of Biscuits and gravy!

Great homemade food! You must have pie, especially lemon merengue. Good coffee and iced tea. Awesome biscuits, don't even need butter. I'm so happy we chose this place! They even handed out carnations for Mother's Day. Great service, the food came out fast. Busy but not too loud, good ambiance. Highly recommend!
