Love Dons. Their fresh cut meats are more flavorful than local grocers. Price reasonable and service is great.

I was in search for a Meat Shop on a Saturday to pick up some lamb chops for Mother's Day dinner. Upon searching local I discovered Don's Butcher Shop. I was greeted with a warm welcome and the butchers behind the glass asked what I was looking for. The showed me the different lamb chop options they had and even offered to cut it up since there was a bone. They wrapped it up for me and I went to check out. The lady at the register was so nice and helpful. The shop itself was very neat and organized. I will definitely make this my main butcher shop for my meats in the future

My husband gets steaks here. They're always great and good prices. He tells me the staff is very friendly. Would recommend if you're looking for fresh meat on the south side.

Absolutely love this butcher shop! Decent prices and really good quality. They usually have flank steak in stock which is somewhat difficult to find at grocery stores. I also love making beef jerky and found that if you call them during the week that they will cut as much as you want for pickup. Consistent thickness is key and they do a good job for a minimal up charge. They also sell potatoes for baking, some sauces/spices but the main attraction is their meat case! Everything from chicken breasts to pork chops to damn near every cut of beef they have has been good. Can't say enough about this placeThey do charge a fee to use a credit card, but debit cards and cash are the same price. Not a big deal, just something to note.

Called to ask about getting some fresh side cut and the lady was EXTREMELY rude...told me that they don't have a meat slicer. Really? You're a butcher shop with NO MEAT SLICER?? LMAO! (Truth be told it's probably the same product that sells to Kroger or Walmart and that's why they don't need a slicer.) Then she went on to explain how (Don, presumably) works long hours and doesn't have time "He works at 5am and sometimes doesn't get home until 2pm!" with an indignant tone (as far as I know that's a normal full 8 hour day? Awwww) like it's our fault he has to work? We get it....you want to give the bare minimum, while charging premium prices. I spoke with "Don" around 2 years ago maybe...after they first opened and he was really rude also. Woof.

Sunday I went to Don's butcher shop to get the dogs some bones since they've been so good. While I was there the guy told me they had some chopped up chicken for dogs. He said they started making it because people were telling them they should make some dog treats. So I bought 2 containers thinking it would be good to boil and purée to put Suzies meds in.Today I boiled the chopped chicken, After cooking about 20min I was stirring it and found pieces of plastic in it, not just one small piece but a lot.Now I don't want the stew meat I bought there and glad I checked the bones before giving them to the dogs.I'll never buy anything from here again that's for sure... not a good first impression!! The pictures aren't even all I found, I just stopped looking and threw it out.I'm concerned about the dogs that had eaten this stuff.

Don's Butcher shop is the only place I'll get my steaks from. They have the TAMAHAWK steak! It's huge and picture perfect for grilling. They only let 7 people at a time into the store and their face mask policy is awesome. It's so clean and everyone is so nice. The quality of meat is on point. I would never shop anywhere else. They also have all the staples; hamburger, pork chops, filet mignon, Amish chicken, etc. There's a small pantry area with steak sauce, seasoning's, and potatoes. Don's was recommended to me by a friend who does grilling competitions and says he'll only use their brisket. I can see why all the meat loving guys like Don's. Their cuts of meat are far superior to your Kroger and Meijer variety and priced about the same. If you follow them on Facebook you might be able to catch the flash sales they have in the family area like $1.99 hamburger or .99 chicken. Love Don's! I'm definitely a lifer customer.

Best butcher shop in Indianapolis. We enjoy going there and picking out our favorite meats and other goodies. Staff are so helpful and friendly.

A wonderful place to shop!!! The customer service is 5 star, hard to find that anymore. The products are fresh & delicious. It is very clean! Had brat burgers tonight. Delicious wonderful seasoning. The bacon brisket burgers are so good! Check it out.

Top quality meat, so much better than what you can get at the grocery. The prices are very reasonable and the staff are helpful.
