So far, we hit four of the Devour Indy featured restaurants! Devour is a special time of year that area restaurants offer special menus with fixed meal prices that allow patrons to try new venues. Devour also gets us out of the house during the cold winter, end-of-January season. We visited parts of the city that we haven't been to in a while. Devour Indy has a great website with all of the participating restaurants listed and their menus. I studied the offerings and developed a plan to visit a few new places and several favorites. For many of the best venues, you have to make reservations early as they book quickly. I will have to spend some extra time at the gym, but it was worth it!

Always a good deal and a great way to check out new spots or return to your favorite locations. The weather was not bad this year and we almost decided to eat outside for a late lunch!

You might have previously heard this called Devour Downtown. Personally, that's when this two-week-long foodie event peaked. During the Devour Downtown, guests were able to enjoy restaurants specifically downtown. Now, it's been changed to Devour Indy. Yes, that means that many, many, many restaurants open their doors and have a specific three-course meal, all over Indianapolis. And honestly, it's overwhelming. Usually lots of options is great, but not when it's in such a short amount of time. The change has discouraged me from trying new restaurants that are in specific pockets/regions of the metro area (i.e. Midtown Chowdown, the north side, the south side). When it was broken down by region, I would go more frequently and as a result, I'd spend more $$ and support more local businesses because they were spread out over the year, not just in one two-week period. It allowed and encouraged people to try more and spend more money. Now, Devour Indy participating restaurants are hardly ever busy (at least the ones that I've been to). I guess that can be a good thing, but it's not the best for the restaurants. If this were to go back to being broken down by regions/areas of the metro area, I believe more people would try more restaurants, support more local businesses, explore more, and as a result, spend more money. Here's to hoping that it gets switched back in the near future! (This review has been primarily negative, but still, it's a good event. Just wish it was how it used to be...and I believe that many people feel the same way.)

I am always excited when Devour Indy season rolls around! It's a perfect opportunity to try a new place that you have had bookmarked, enjoy some truly mouthwatering, amazingly delicious food. It also gives my husband a reason for date nights and we can also enjoy a discount at some of our favorite hot spots and get us to try new dishes, too. One such place is Season's 52. Zac and I have been going here ever since we met, but with a changing seasonal menu it's a new experience time and time again. This last time Zac tried the grass-fed beef & black bean chili, signature burger, and key lime pie dessert shooter; I had the chicken noodle soup, wood-grilled boneless rainbow trout and carrot cake shooter. Service was very friendly and attentive, food was perfectly cooked, and the best part, just $20 a person.

This is a great way to eat at that restaurant you always wanted to try but could never afford. Fixed price menus are offered and you can generally snag a three-course meal for about $30 per person. Pros:- high quality food, lower price- tons of participating restaurants- some places offer certain dishes only during Devour or they preview new dishes- most places offer their menus onlineCons:- Restaurants fill up fast, so make reservations early or expect to wait- Service is sometimes compromised because restaurants are so busy- Portions are sometimes smaller than expected, but there is still plenty to eat

I think this is a good idea and I could not agree more with the folks that think it would be better by focusing on different parts of town but the biggest problem currently, it starts in 3 days and not a single restaurant has their menu posted. How are you supposed to make plans when you have no idea what is on the menu?

I love this twice a year Indianapolis event! It is the perfect opportunity to try restaurants you may not regularly be able to afford or that perfect excuse to try that place you've been meaning to try.

We love Devour Indy and have taken advantage of it every year to try out pricey restaurants at lower prices. This year, however, at Terra Gauche, we were charged the full price for the rodizio experience instead of a discounted price about $14 cheaper per person. I indicated in the reservation comments that we were coming for Devour Indy, but after the meal we were presented a bill for the full price. They said we had the wrong meal card, but offered offered to check with the manager about discounting the bill. Since we enjoyed the meal, we paid the extra $45. I wouldn't be writing this review except for the fact, I had a friend with 4 other family members go to the restaurant last night on my recommendation and they, too, were presented with the full price bill and bwere told they had been given the wrong card when they were seated indicating they were Devour customers. As this is the same excuse they gave us; I feel like this restaurant is luring customers in under the guise of Devour Indy's lower prices and then charging full price, in hopes the customers won't discover the discrepancy in billing or won't want to create a scene disputing the bill. What at scam on the part of Terre Gauche.
