I waited and waited to order some sweets but the cashier took everyone's order but mine even though I told her I was there before them! I was the only one who wasn't Indian so maybe that's why? I was made to feel very uncomfortable to the point that I put the things I had grabbed back and left. Horrible experience and no sense of customer service! I do not recommend going to this market if you're not familiar with the people in there.

A few nights ago I was browsing GrubHub looking for something different than our usual go-to restaurants. I've seen this place on there several times so I finally decided to give it a try. I'm not vegan but I eat that way quite often in an effort to reduce meat consumption and because I just have more energy when I do. They have plenty of vegan options and as far as I could tell without looking at every single menu option, it appears their entire menu is at least vegetarian. I ordered Baingan Bharta and Gobi Manchurian. Both had really great flavors (hence, the four-star rating) but were way too spicy. I'm no stranger to spicy food but this was too spicy for my taste. Any spicier and I don't think I could have eaten it. Also, the Gobi Manchurian could have stood to be less soggy. It's a deep fried cauliflower dish and one expects some crunch to it but what we got were soggy balls of veggies. I am almost always willing to give every place a second try and will give this one as well.

Desi Bazaar is grocery mart for Indian produce situated in Greenwood. This place has lot of open parking slots and they have fair amount of Indian food products. They also have a restaurant setup with some decent menu items. Apart from produces they also offer Indian variety of sweets which is a big plus and you can also order to go food from here. Its concient as it's easily accessible.

My fiancé and I recently found this gem. He being Indian, we were frequently going to Patel brothers. This place is so much closer to our house! They have a great selection of items at very reasonable prices. We started looking forward to this place because of their amazing fresh samosas! They also have a small eating area in the back (like 3 tables). We decided to have lunch there today and were pleasantly surprised at not only how cheap it was, but also delicious! We wanted to eat cheap today. I was going to get the samosa chat and he the parathas, but the guy suggested the thaali. Only 4.99/person! We got two of those and a samosa chat and it was only $13 for such an abundance of food. My only complaint was that the food could have been hotter in temperature, but the price and taste made up for that.

My mom and I came here after deciding to try out some new traditional Indiana recipes for dinner. Selection of foods is great! Fresh produce and meals from the kitchen available to purchase. We bought tons of samosas and ate on them for a couple days and even bought a package of frozen ones for later. They were the best I've had! Staff was friendly and helpful.

Another Indian store in the Greenwood area. Conveniently located right next to Mumbai Grill. Another popular Indian Restaurant famous for their Chicken Seekh Kebabs. Anyway this review is about Desi Bazaar. They have got a plethora of Indian spices, snacks, vegetables and a lot more. This place also has a seated kitchen where they serve hot paratha( aloo, mooli, etc.). They do curries and daals too. Good thing is they have a lot of variety, the not so good thing is that not everything on the menu is available at all times. DoorDash delivers from them so you can actually order good and easy on the pocket Indian food from your home but at a cost of $5.99 delivery fee which I don't mind when I am ordering bulk. The seated dining is a bit unconventional I would say. When you walk in you can't really see where is the seating area but then you take a right and end of the right corner of the store and behind the big Cabinet and voila you have reached where the food magic happens. They serve hot piping food which means every thing is actually fresh. I absolutely love their parathas( stuffed flat breads). I have binged eaten parathas, chole bhature( chick pea currey and unsweetened and unsalted elephant ears/deep fried flat bread) , and wait for it rasmalai. Yes so rasmalai is a traditional milk based Indian dessert, yes they serve Indian Desserts too for those who indulge( Tip- Try white Rasgulla). For a small Mom n Pop shop they got a ton of variety. The food is good but the presentation is meh. Since it's not a traditional restaurant, they also haven't done much on the seating arrangement or the decor so not really a hangout place. The reason why it's only a for me because they could learn a bit of table side etiquette of being nice to their customers. Their service could use some updo and sometimes the lady at the cash register is super rude to you. Her discretion really. Have ordered from here a lot of times so I would say this place will meet your grocery needs and you can enjoy good food too minus the service if you have the time.

Assuming you are in greenwood or indy metro, this is the only place that I have found worth going for Indian junk food.It is really traditional. You either like that or you don't. As a fan, I will explain what I consider to be the advantages. 1) This place, as Indian grocery stores generally are, is very small. Many people find it cramped, but I find it convenient and easy to navigate. 2) They squeezed in a few little booths where you can hang out and nosh. Not typical in grocery stores.3) They have a ton of in-house prepared treats, the likes of which you would usually have to pick up at the state fair**If the state fair were Indian. Carbs, deep frying, breads, potatoes, candy coated things; things you probably shouldn't eat, but that taste like pure, unadulterated happiness... such that you tend to forget every calorie you ever counted, or scolding you ever got from your mother. Your insides are smiling. Life is good. They serve the best samosa chat here that I've ever had and you have to ask them to hold the yogurt if you are vegan. I am so hungry just thinking about this place.

This is both an Indian grocery and cafe. I found this gem on a road trip, and have bookmarked this spot for future reference and hope to make it a regular stop. The food was great in the cafe, and tasted authentic. I was expecting to find something more like a formal restaurant and buffet on my trip, and was extremely happy when I found this place instead. They gave very generous portions, and gave me a bit of everything, like I would have had at a vegetarian Indian buffet. I found this place to be inexpensive and also picked up a few groceries while I was here. I was very happy finding this place, and came back on my return trip for Indian Chai tea. Everything I had was delicious and my expectations were surpassed by what I expected to find in my travels.
