Driving down State Road in a blizzard and I am hungry. I see guy standing on the deck of a bbq restaurant. I figure if this guy is standing in a blizzard to get some bbq - I gotta get in there.I pull a u-turn and head back to the restaurant parking lot. Fighting the blizzard to get inside - I can see now that it isn't a guy - it's a dummy - well one of us was a dummy. I went into this cavernous joint and was met by half-a-dozen pink steel pigs. I knew I was in the right place.I ordered rib tip dinner and was pleasantly surprised. Those were the meatest rib tips I ever had. They were think and smoky and soon the blizzard melted away. I was hooked. Their hot sauce isn't hot - it's nothing special. This meat was way to perfect to mess with much sauce anyway. The cole slaw was creamy and amazing. The mac-n-cheese was perfect. I sat alone in this cavern of smoke-tastic delight - listening to classic rock that was eerily projected against one wall and eating the best rib-tips on the planet. I don't get out that often - but I am going to start looking for reasons to go to Westville IL.

This place was awesome. I had the ribs - perfectly smoked, fall off the bone tender, nicely packaged (for carry out). The sides were ample, and delicious. My wife makes what I consider the best coleslaw ever. This was better. My sister-in-law makes what I consider the best southern green beans. This was better. This place is highly recommended for barbecue lovers and barbecue purists. I can't wait to return.

This is. A nice little bbq spot. I don't normally like bbq but my husband wanted to go. I got the pulled pork and it was delicious. The owner came out and greeted us and the food came quickly. The employees were all very polite. Great local eatery.

This is an initial post after I just asked Yelp to add Dave's restaurant. We've known him for years, because my wife went to high school with him. He started his barbecue out of a food truck, and his gradually grown to a very nice sitdown restaurant the size of a banquet hall. Double barrel smoker parked out in the lot. We sampled his brisket today and all the sides are made on site. He has a nice pool table and is planning on adding another one to be able to have competitions once a week. He also has a liquor license for those who prefer these beverages. As I mentioned the suggestion initial post after I asked yelp to add his site so I don't have as many pictures as might normally do a new Restaurant justice, but hopefully more will be coming by future clientele. I'll also note that he came to Westville from Shelbyville, IN largely due to having a lot of cousins in the area, so a good number of his on-site staff are indeed his family!!

Seemed like they used to much liquid smoke. I ordered half chicken and it was way to done and left over. Mac and cheese tasted like it was boxed. Sauces was very good though
