Danny's Mexican Ice Cream

Anyone that knows me, knows I love me some Mexican ice cream. I have been trying to make it here for months. I just dread driving in that Avon traffic. You will find this gem in a small strip mall. Being that it is in a strip mall, there is a decent sized lot available, that it shares with the other businesses, to park.I visited here during their "down season". They are much busier and has a lot more offerings, such as elote, and Cheetos dishes, in the summer. There are a few tables set up outside to sit and enjoy your treat, but I am sure that spot is not very popular in the Winter months (when I visited). I sat in the shop's decent sized dining area. It is very clean and colorful and had Latin music playing throughout the shop. The woman working the shop during my visit was very friendly and helpful. You gave me suggestions and offered samples of the scooped ice cream. She was awesome.The shop offers bottled Mexican drinks, homemade scooped ice cream, popsicles, and special ice cream treats. After a long deliberation, I decided to go with the strawberries and cream. It was one of the best that I had. It had oatmeal, cream, strawberries, and whipped cream. I will admit, that I took the woman's suggestion and tried some samples of the ice cream. The freezer was full of a variety of flavors. They have traditional and exotic/hard to find flavors. They were all good, but the one that stood out to me was the corn ice cream. MMMMmmmmm! It was so amazing, I had to get a quart of it to take home (and not to share either). This is a nice little shop that offers some really good frozen treats. Danny hit a home run with this joint. Even though they have a lot more to offer in the Summer, it is still a good place to visit during the colder months. I highly recommend checking this place out.

This was such a yummy ice cream spot! The flavors were just a great combination! I enjoyed the yummy churro sundae! The textures were amazing! Also, the portions to the price were really really nice! The customer service was very kind and patient explaining different ice cream flavors. Free parking lot in front of shop!

I've been to Dannys, probably over 25 times. And every time it's five star. What keeps me coming back? Homemade ice cream at a very reasonable price! Try the churro sundae! Homemade sundae with homemade churro! Does it seriously get any better than that? They warm the churro up and in two flavors of your choice they cut it up and put it throughout the Sunday. You get the option of caramel or chocolate drizzle. I've tried both, but the caramel drizzle is my favorite. If they have their Coconut ice cream. It goes very well with this! Today they did not have the coconut ice cream so I went with The coffee ice cream. It was delicious. I've tried several flavors and none have ever disappointed. But my all-time favorite is the coconut. When they have it, it's a hot item and goes quickly.They are always super friendly and give great suggestions. They always ask if you want to sample anything. There's always one or two flavors. I've never tasted so I sample those. There's nothing special about the inside of the shop. It's small ice cream shop with a few tables. In the warmer weather, there are a couple tables outside. You may also get a pint or quart of ice cream to take home. Check them out I promise you will not be disappointed. Unless you don't like ice cream!

Whenever I'm looking for a pick me up that is delicious, local and hits the spot on a hot summer day! Danny's ice cream always has something that satisfies my sweet tooth!I've been going here for a few years and everyone is always friendly and they help me make up my mind ! If you are in Avon visit this local gem!

They have the best ice cream for a really good price. The people are very helpful and super friendly. 1000% recommend! Will be back.

Finally stopped here after reading reviews for over a year. This is a great ice cream shop. It is not fancy. It has multiple flavors that are produced in house. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. My wife has gluten sensitivity and we were able to find the flavors that had no wheat in the mix. I went for the top prize, the banana split. It was too much and I should have gone for a double dip cone, but it WAS delicious.We have hit some touristy ice cream shops when traveling out of state. They charge way more for their ice cream. Danny's is quality at a fair price with delicious traditional selections plus the addition of some unusual flavors including "corn". Samples are cheerfully offered. This is not a fancy place, it is in a strip mall in Avon just west of an O'Reilly Auto Parts store. The handcrafted ice creams are worth the visit.

We love Danny's ice cream! The owner is the sweetest and it's such a fun atmosphere. They have different flavors (queso; tequila?!) & yummy classics. Best ice cream in Hendricks county!

Nice place to come grab an ice cream no matter what time of year. Especially when you have one of those sweet tooth days good service and very helpful and will allow you to sample a flavor you never tried before. Yes I'll be back
