I was lucky enough to attend a practice round day of the BMW Championships hosted at Crooked Stick, and now I know why this course is world-renowned. Too bad it's private and thus only open to members. It's a Pete Dye course, so from a player/spectator perspective, it's a golfer's paradise. I was astounded by the size of the course and beauty of it - hole #18 is quite a looker, as is the recognizable #6 with the red covered bridge. The BMW Championship was well executed despite the wacky weather that week. I was able to park in a field a few miles away and ride a shuttle to the course and quickly caught one back when I was ready to leave. The course was breathtaking in the crisp white and black BMW colors, but what else do you expect when BMW is the title sponsor?Crossing my fingers the tournament returns in 2020 so we can experience it again.

This golf club created by Pete Dye is one of best courses in the world! I have been fortunate enough to attend multiple practice rounds as well as tournament play of the BMW Championships hosted in recent years. The course was always in great shape - bunkers raked, greens cut evenly, divots filled, etc. This is a very private course, and you need to be with a member to play. Fortunately, they have a prestigious caddie program that offers members a chance to play quickly, and vast community involvement for kids to learn lifelong skills. The members are overall very inviting, and the staff is very helpful - not only in the pro shop, but in the whole (beautiful) clubhouse itself. If you have any chance to play, I highly recommend!

Crooked Stick Golf Club is one of the best courses in the state of Indiana. The course is private, so you need to be with a member to play. I was fortunate enough to play there on Sunday, May 6th 2012. I played with two members thanks to a relationship I have built with Mr. Tony Pancake. You won't meet a nicer guy. The course was in great shape, the greens were fast, and the rough was thick. They are hosting the 2012 BMW Championship here, which is a stop on the FedEx Cup. The best players in the game will be in the Circle City this fall. The clubhouse is great too. The range and putting greens are also nice. I think what topped it off was the ranger wearing a tie. You don't see that every day. Oh, and the suggestion box on 18 is nice! Great course that I hope to play again in the future.
