Courthouse Cafe

The Courthouse Cafe is for sale, but still serving meals. Inside, the cafe is cute and clean. We stopped for a late lunch and we're the only guests. Our server was pleasant and ready to take our order. She brought out waters. There was not a long wait for food. The menu is a typical Midwest menu offering tenderloins, hamburgers, BLTs, etc. But prices were unbelievably low. I ordered the fried cod dinner, which came with soup and fries. The potato soup was homemade, but had bits of flour throughout that made it taste chalky. The fish was awful - tasted mushy and strongly fishy. I couldn't eat it. My husband had the tenderloin which tasted like cardboard. We didn't complain. The cafe obviously is having some issues. I won't return, but hope someone buys the place and turns it around.

Me and my family walked in and it was very quiet, barely anyone was there. We sat down and ordered. It took them about 50 minutes for them to bring out the food, (Remember that the place only had 1 customer) When we got it, my mom found a hair in her food, and I found one in my BLT Sandwich. After we paid and went home, my boyfriend got sick as well as me. I wouldn't recommend coming here unless you're desperate.

A friend and I wanted a hot meal on a very cold day after antiquing, so we stopped in here. The food was good (liver with onions, turkey melt, potato soup) but the service was poor.

We like to give new small business town places a try. But maybe they don't like out of town people. The waitress, hostess lady never smiled or said a kind word to us. After waiting 45 minutes for our sandwich we paid for our over salted soup and left. The server yelled to us "Wait your food is ready!" Then why didn't she give it to us? Don't go there. If you think it's a nice place to eat before court, you"ll miss your case. There was only one other table and she did feed them. Stay away.
