Coney Island Wiener Stand

A Fort Wayne Original...It'd been 25 years since I had been back to Coney Island... Still the exact same joint - No frills, cheap, good eats with friendly service. When in Fort Wayne, Coney Island is a must stop.

This was recommended to me by a friend and I wasn't really expecting that much from it but I was surprised by the food. I enjoyed the hot dog and the staff was friendly. The price is decent and the food was prepared quickly.Only thing I would do next time is to eat in but unfortunately, I was in a rush so I got my food to go.

Service was amazing! We went around 5:30 and there was no wait time and plenty of parking. The nostalgia of the place is something to experience. My husband and I got both of our bellies full for $20 plus tip. Can't beat those prices! Don't go to this place expecting any frills or lots of menu options, or you will be disappointed. Food was made fresh, and was something to experience!

Wow, this place is just awesome. I guess that explains why they have been around 100+ years. They have a menu and plan that works . Staff is kind, efficient and knowledgeable. Did I mention food is cheap? Our entire meal for 2 people was $13.72. That included hot dogs, drinks & a piece of pie! Take time to chat with staff and learn the history of the business and building. IRS just fascinating.

For a Texan this place hits the spot. This is a must visit place for a new family tradition...

I love Coney Island. The food isn't gourmet, it's comfort and nostalgia. Best Coney Dog I've ever had!

I'm going to upgrade my rating to five stars because Coney Island is an icon type destination and they do what they intend to do well.The small restaurant has a charm that has been there for decades. The place stays clean as the support staff seems to jump on cleaning the tables quickly. The number of patrons in the restaurant turns quickly so does the need to clean.On this occasion the young man that was serving us did an excellent job at making us feel welcome. He was very efficient and polite. He did a great job at checking back in us frequently.The coney dogs are one of a kind. The freshly steamed bun seems to melt in your mouth. The dog was steamed so that it was hot to the core but not plumped up like it was grilled. The onions were finely chopped without being strong. The coney dog sauce was thin and has a mild beef/cinnamon type taste. It doesn't overpower the dog...just blends well with the mustard and total package.We topped off our visit with a slice of blueberry pie - absolutely delicious. The crust was light and flaky...with a bit of a strong shortening taste. The blueberry filling tasted fresh and sweet. No tartness to the berries. This just made an excellent topper to the coney dog taste!

Ive been going there for years since I was 20yrs old and I'm 62 and still go when I get the chance !

Coney Island is in My Blood Line - Only job I ever knew that my father had. I started working there at age 13, left at age 20 to start my Insurance Career. My Dad, Brother, Uncles and Cousins have all worked here over past 60 years.

This is a go to if you are in Fort Wayne, there are pies and burgers and hotdogs. Service is always great with nice fast staff. The ambiance is great with original stuff. Overall this is an amazing place, must try.
