Commodore

The Commodore is such a low key Fountain Square gem. This fountain square Speakeasy is hidden away in the fountain square theater building.The drinks are high level and the service is hipster cool. The old fashions are wonderful and they're open late with snacks from Imbibes kitchen.

My family and I were looking for plans for a Saturday night & I immediately thought of Commodore. I've heard great things about it and have been trying to make it a mission to hit all of the speakeasy's in the city and this one was my first stop haha. It really has the traditional feel of a speakeasy because we sincerely couldn't find it at first haha. When we finally did, I loved everything about it. The lighting was dim and there were couches which created a cozy atmosphere. There were also a high tops if you're into that. I absolutely loved the art work & the attention to detail. The receipts are delivered in a book, how cute is that?! We were greeted & seated immediately. The only thing I didn't really care for is that after we received the menus no one came to our table for the drink orders and didn't explain that we had to order at the bar BUT the bartender was very impressive which made up for it. Have you ever seen someone shake a drink cobbler & swirl a drink at the same time?!?! Haha I didn't catch her name but she did an amazing job on our drinks as well. I had the Espressotini and it was top 3 for me! One of the best in the city, seriously! It was smooth and I could taste the espresso but it wasn't over powering. Loved it! Actually, everyone enjoyed their drinks. I can't wait to go back & try more.

Commodore is one of those "secret" gems that never disappoints. The dim lighting and rotating themes always make for a fun and immersive experience. On my last visit, the spooky theme was in full effect, complete with smoky vapor swirling around, and the drinks and ambience matched the vibe perfectly.Tyler, along with all the bartenders, is a true master of the trade. They consistently deliver exceptional cocktails with precision and creativity. After years of coming here, I can confidently say I've never had a bad experience. Whether you're in the mood for something classic or experimental, Commodore is always a prime spot to indulge in a great night out.

Cool speakeasy. Small but comfy. The night we went it it was really cold inside for some reason. Cocktails are priced for area but are small. So don't know that it is a go-to spot for us.

Very cool spot! Awesome vibe, dark, great drinks, great service! It was an adventure to find it. There is no shame, walk around, check a few doors, you'll find it eventually!

What a quaint spot! I attended a charity gala with a few friends last weekend and one of the suggested for a night cap to be had at commodore! I will say, the espresso martini is SMALL but mighty! Quite frankly one of the best I've ever had! I love the very low lighting and choice of seating. This speakeasy will now be added to my personal list of suggestions when I have friends in town.

So adore getting to bring out of town guest to this niche spot in Fountain Square, as it was one of the first places that I got to experience! Consistently delicious and well crafted cocktails on the menu in addition to knowledgeable and friendly bar staff. Shoutout to Tyler and Brooke for pleasing crowds on all nights of the week. An extra special thanks to Brooke for keeping up with our personal request this past Saturday night. The French 75 was not on the menu, but you made it beautifully thay it very well should be. Displeased with the ambience and service. It was moody and secretive indeed, but more-so in a sketchy way, especially when the bartender closed out our tab and wrote the tip on the receipt themselves. We were looking forward to jazz and a "luxe"/"classy" atmosphere like some websites promised, we were let down, especially with EDM/pop music playing.

Well-known speakeasy in the center of Fountain Square, Commodore is a dark, swanky pre-game or post-event meet-up spot. Rather small space with usually only one or two bartenders present so pick your hours wisely. My friends love the espressotini, though I have never had a bad drink from here. One of my favorite unique drinks is the Beets Me, a light cocktail (not a tart drink). If you come here and order a beer you might get an eye roll or two Perfect for your friends from out of town who are stopping in for a night in the downtown area! Worth the hunt!!

Loved the atmosphere, it was a good setting for conversation. Drinks were delicious, loved the espresso martini.
