Forewarning: I was a bystander, so I didn't participate in the actual 5K. I have been to two other "color runs" in the past few years. Honestly, I didn't know these types of 5Ks were still in existence as they were created many years ago. That being said, it seemed like a lot of fun watching the participants and getting to hand out sunnies and color packs. Would I pay to go to this 5K after watching the participants go thru the race and the after party? Probably not, but it definitely seemed like a lot of fun from the smiles and joy coming from the participants. Usually when 5Ks are over, there is some sort of food to eat. It would've been nice for the runners/joggers/walkers to have something to munch on other than sugary drinks but at least they had that option. My biggest concern was that the grassy area for the pre workout and post run party was not accessible at all and there were several strollers and wheelchairs that I saw struggling to get through the muddy grass. Make sure it's accessible for everyone and this event would be good to go. Nice job, Color Vibe!

Today our family participated in the Color Vibe 5K. It was our first 5K ever! I was a little nervous taking my 3 boys especially my 9 year old who has Cerebral Palsy and needs a wheelchair for long distances. All 4 of us had a blast and the course at the Indiana State Fairgrounds was very easy to maneuver with a wheelchair. We checked in on the day before the race and received our bibs and color packets. Check in was quick and easy. Today we arrived and I was pleasantly surprised with all of the booths that they had there. Tum-E Yummies was the sponsor and they had coolers filled with their juices that were free to enjoy. They also had a photo center set up with a backdrop and props. I love that I was able to be in the before and after pictures as I'm usually the photographer. They also offered bottles of water, tattoos, hair glitter, face paint and wet wipes to all of the participants which shows generosity and kindness! My boys enjoyed the Zumba before the event and dance party after. We can't wait to do another one!
