Chicago Supermarket Fish & Chicken

I live close by so needless to say I come here often and if it's not me coming it's one of my family members and every single time we come the food is ALWAYS fresh and hot..

Not pretty, but fresh house-made dishes. Kids love it, too.It is not pretty, but technically it is a supermarket. The quality of the produce is good and so are the prices.My kids love the hand-breaded chicken strips and french fries meal. The chicken is moist and the fries are crispy. The flavors are very good, too. The chicken strip meal does come with a lot of hot sauces and a lemon pepper spice blend, so if you don't want those, be sure to let them know before they bag it. My husband & I get the Lamb Plate. It is sooo good! We also tried the chicken. It was good, but we prefer the lamb. It is chopped lamb in a creamy yogurt sauce spooned over saffron rice, with a side salad of tomatoes and shredded lettuce. You can eat them separately or together, either is delicious, I prefer it mixed.I like to add extra tomato, shredded lettuce, and chopped onions when I get home. It has enough, but the prices of produce are good, so why not?They make amazing fruit shakes, too. My kids go crazy for them. We had trouble deciding which we liked more because both were so tasty.TLDR: PROS:1) THE FOOD 2) the produce3) the fruit smoothies4) the valueCONS:1) unattractive building2) all food is take-out

Saw this place open not far from hubby's job and finally had an opportunity to try it. Humble location, there's not too much to the decor, but hey that's ok, right?! Just long as the food's good. Anyhoo....the gentleman at the front was very nice and polite. Let me know of different specials that were going on and I decided to order the 10 piece chicken tender dinner (for the kiddos, not all for me); which comes with the traditional fries, coleslaw and bread. I also ordered quite a few of their desserts; (what?? they were 2 for $3 and I have quite the sweet tooth); which included a slice German chocolate cake; a turtle cheesecake slice and a slice of their chess pie (for Hubbs, I don't really like chesss pie)The German chocolate cake was good; not dry at all. Children really liked it also. The cheesecake was really rich, not as creamy as I would personally like it, but not bad. And my husband loves the chess pie. He said it was the best he's tasted. But let me back up for a second. When I went back to get my food (10 min wait, not bad at all on a Sunday after church), there was a huge aluminum pan waiting for me. I'm like, "how much food is in there?!". It was quite a bit of food. The portions were nice and the chicken, even though the prices were big, they were nice and juicy....not very flavorful. Maybe a little more seasoning in the flour would have helped, but not terrible. The fries were a bit moist from the steam of the chicken; not terrible but I like crispy fries. So all in all, it was nice for a quick meal to feed the kiddos and a nice alternative to Jordan's; but nothing too exciting. I would go back for the hospitality.

I have had their fish (whiting), wings and fry combo. It absolutely hits the spot. There wings are fried all the way through, the seasoning is balanced. The fries are incredible! Quick, easy meal when you're short on time and still want to have a 'home cooked' vs fast food meal. The prices are great. Good value for the money. I'm trying their gyro for the first time! Can't wait!

I will NEVER go here again..... I went for the first time it was great . Food was fresh. I went back two days later and the food was horrible. I ordered a Super Philly with Chicken and no veggies ... It had onions and peppers and no meat .... I called to make them aware and they told me to bring it back ... Needless to say I didn't take it bake I tossed it in the trash and was out of $13.34 and I WILL NOT BE GOING HERE AGAIN

I had a pretty good experience here. The food was decent especially the chicken. I would definitely go again. The only thing is the prices are different from the picture (only $1 extra.) Also as a small warning the accent can surprise you when they pick up but it is fine they listen well and don't rush you off the phone like most places.

tl;dr: My food exceeded my expectations. I will go back when I want more garbage food. ---Do you ever go on a quest for garbage food? Do you ever pronounce garbage like people do Target... There are a billion steak/shrimp/lemonade joints around these days. I went to Donnie's because I thought they had a drive-thru and I didn't want to be bothered with getting presentable. They do not have a drive-thru.Ordered my ridiculous meal, then was informed it was cash only at the moment. Had just enough on me. Nice guys working there, offered me a soda, said it'd be 10 minutes.My food was bagged and ready in less than 10. They confirmed each item as they handed them through the bullet-proof turret.100% accuracy. They even put the lemon pepper seasoning on like I asked.

My food tasted like chemicals . I definitely feel comfortable eating it after that experience

This place used to be great while the real donny was running the place. He had everything in order. If u wanted a gyro you already knew the sauce would be there now ever since they got some new management and a horrible cashier little girl this place is horrible. I order my usual a chicken sandwich with cheese on the sandwich and fries. You would thing it didn't count too much of a difference but wait the cashier forgit to put cheese on my fries so guess what she says ? Its 1.50 for a cup a cheese 1.50 do you hear me? The sodas they sell is 1.00 so do you see the problem here if you go there you will be pissed i promise..

Good customer service not tSpic and span but not horrible either staff was fast and caring I will be back
