I was in town for four day. I ate here three times. This place is incredible. Loved the bacon&jalapeño Rangoon. The tacos are amazing but the best was the lunch special. The nah no and pho are perfect together. Staff is super friendly. Nice casual dining experience will be back next time I am in town.

Finally got my pho fix while visiting for a business trip. I ordered the pho with different cuts of meats and a street taco. Pho- 4/5. I can't say it was the best bowl of pho I've ever had but I can say it was good. The broth was flavorful but I just didn't taste that deep rich beef bone broth. I would consider the side to be small-medium bowl. Came with plenty of meats as well. Priced is average. I would recommend giving it a try. Street taco - 5/5. Now this was the star of the night! I might have to say it's the best taco I've had. Tender and juicy. Meat was well seasoned and the sauce all worked very well together. Highly recommend giving this a try. Thai ice coffee- 5/5. If you like that strong Vietnamese coffee taste. I think you will like this drink. Overall good dinning, I would come back to explore the menu and maybe try other items from the menu. Now heading back home!

I used their app to order ahead so I could pick this up on my drive home from work. Really easy to order ahead, everything was ready when I arrived, and the chicken ban mi sandwich was so good! Really fresh flavors (maybe that's the lemongrass, I have no idea what magic is included), and I also got the shrimp spring roll to have later. Both well packaged to take home. They have a dining area too, not big but great if you're in the area and want to try some amazing food. I've never been a big fan of pho, that's just personal taste, so I'm so glad to have other options like the banh mi on the menu!!

My last visit here was pretty good. Staff is always friendly and attentive. We had a big group and I was really surprised at how well the server handled the orders. He did not miss anything. I ordered the meatball pho. It came out steaming and perfect. I always ask for the noodles on the side. and I was sure they would ignore the request like most places, especially since we had a big group. The soup was flavored just right, I didn't really need hoisin or sriracha. They have a new chili sauce that is super spicy and really good. I'll have to pick up a bottle next time I'm there.Price is good and they have a variety of vietnamese favorites. Looking forward to try others.

My wife and I came in for the lunch special they offer: a banh mi sandwich and pho for $9.95, which in my opinion was a steal. When I entered, the store looked super clean, and well presented. They weren't super busy, so we were able to order at the counter quickly. The food came out quick, and it looked very fresh. It was also plated very cleanly, which was a plus. My pork banh mi sandwich had the perfect amount of meat to veggies to sauce, and was one of the better banh mi sandwiches I'd had. It was my first time having pho, and decided to go for the chicken pho, instead of the beef that normally comes with the lunch special. I wasn't necessarily blown away by it, but no complaints about it. I tried my wife's beef pho, and it was not my favorite- but she enjoyed it and had no complaints about it. Overall, great experience, great value for the cost, and will definitely return.

I first discovered this restaurant during a Yelp event over 6 years ago and immediately fell in love. The attention to detail, depth of flavors, freshness in everything from herbs to locally sourced bread made specifically for Chao, etc. The owner's passion for serving high-quality authentic food was admirable. Sadly, it breaks my foodie heart to see this restaurant go downhill so rapidly. I tend to avoid eating in because the service has never been great since the event, to go or when eating there. This has gotten progressively worse. The young staff does not seem to care and my family and I have never seen restaurant-level kindness towards customers or even a drive to provide a great experience.I kept coming back for the food (and delicious dipping sauces) until tonight. I placed a to-go order, $60 worth, and once preparing to eat, I notice the pho ingredients are...interesting. There's random ingredients not included in pho under my bean sprouts. I paid for extra jalapeños and got very little thin slices. The lime leaves were wet, soggy, and black. The pho meat, which was brisket that I ordered rare (an option on the website) was incredibly dry and tough, similar to jerky, and gray in color. The spring rolls had several black leaves. The worst part was raw pork egg rolls. My husband was on his last bite when I took my first bite. I quickly asked him to stop, noticing the raw meat. I held it under the light, seeing red and pink meat, like it was straight out of the raw meat section of the grocery. I took a couple pictures and called the restaurant. I remained calm, asked for a manager, and what sounded like another kid heard me explain. I asked if I could email him the picture, he said yes, then when opening it laughed and said, "Haha yeah, definitely looks raw to me." He then backtracked and said they try to cure their meat, they cook it once then re-cook to order, how he was unsure about telling me if it was safe but doesn't blame me for not feeling safe about eating it. I appreciate him reimbursing these but my husband eating his roll and me eating some is still scary. Per WedMD, "Rare pork is undercooked. Both uncooked or raw pork and undercooked pork are unsafe to eat. Meat sometimes has bacteria and parasites that can make you sick. Thorough cooking kills any germs that might be present. The most common germ linked to pork is the parasite Trichinella spiralis. Meat from wild meat-eating animals like bears or domestic meat- and plant-eating animals like pigs can be infected with the larvae from this worm."No thanks Chao, never again. How sad. Step up or shut down, please.

Every time we come to Chao we are blown away by the flavor and freshness of each dish. We have tried almost everything on the menu and have never been disappointed! We can't get away from ordering the Chao fries and spring rolls. Even the wings are perfect. Carlos, the owner, is the most kind, friendly person and makes everyone feel right at home. He is a master with meat. He also ferments many of the veggies and makes all of his own sauces. Don't forget to treat yourself to dessert! Carlos makes his own delicious ice cream and yogurt!

I wish I had remembered to take a photo of my wonderful meal!! I got the vegetarian Bún and a Viet coffee. I love the jicama!! My friend got the same dish and we both spent quite a bit of time raving about it. The chef came out and talked to us about how he got started and he explained a few of the dishes and how he perfected them. I was happy to hear the vegetarian dishes are truly vegetarian. The rest of the staff were very attentive and always making sure we had enough to drink. It's a great location with easy access from the interstate. Parking in that strip mall is never a problem. When you arrive, you order at the counter and the food is brought to your table. Service was quick. The food was excellent and very fresh. Everything is made on site, including the hot sauce. Excellent service and food!Update! I was gifted a bubble waffle by the chef. What a treat!!! It was amazing. The coconut ice cream was probably the best ice cream I have ever had. My friend described it as a clean flavor. It was absolutely delicious. My friend and I split the waffle and we each had a scoop of ice cream with berries. It was a big portion (all the portions for everything I've had are a very good size) but it was not heavy. It was the perfect end to our meal. I would give this place 10 stars, if I could!

Came in for the $10 lunch special of a banh mi and pho. I chose the beef pho and pork banh mi. Both are AMAZING. Great flavor and great portion sizes for the price. I also had the Vietnamese iced coffee, which was very good. Additionally, the girls working in here are SO nice and welcoming!I'm glad I only work 10 minutes away because I will definitely be coming in for the lunch special (and to try other things) here soon!
