Celeste Belly Dance

Disclosure: The belly dance sessions offered by Celeste are 6 weeks long. I went to a final class as an observer, and I attended the first class of a session. I do not have a perspective on the entire six-week session as I am not planning to return for subsequent classes.Cost: $60 for 6 1-hour classes (Monday nights)Celeste is a lovely person and is extremely knowledgeable about belly dance. (And judging by the videos on her website, also a phenomenal performer!) She did say, at the beginning, that this would be the class with the most discussion since it was the first one in the series. However, we moved for only about 10 minutes of the 55-minute class; the rest of the time she was explaining movements and we were standing still. I am naturally pretty clumsy, and cannot learn dance moves without actually doing them; so the discussion, although informative, was not terribly helpful for me. I do not pretend to be any kind of expert on dance, but I do know that when I take a fitness class I want to break a sweat! The class I watched (prior to taking this one) was the final class of the previous session, and there was still quite a bit of explaining of movements and techniques. Overall, seems like a good choice for some, but not quite strenuous enough for a time-crunched, impatient oaf like me :)(also of note: there appears to be a no-refund policy on preregistered classes/classes not attended)
