Castleton Manor Apartments

It takes several weeks and multiple times requesting for any kind of work to get done, and this is unfortunately experience from things that have been broken since before we moved in: a broken lock on the outside storage room, MOLD in the shower (never has been fixed in the month we've been here), among other things. When we complained about the weed smell stuck in the walls and carpet, they acted like the blame is on the neighbor's weed smoke wafting in, which, to be fair, happens daily, right through the central air vents. Our second night here, our cars' insides were rifled through, and management was barely sympathetic. Everything above the ground is painted over, so good luck adjusting vents, also it looks bad. We thought this was worth the high cost. We can't wait to leave. And they don't allow you to sell your contract to someone else.

This has been the worst place I have lived. To start off when I did the initial walk through it was a disaster. The unit had not been prepped before. A good portion of the floorboards were chewed up by the previous tenants dog. The painting company had left paint all over the bathtub. The microwave was missing the turn table. The dishwasher looked like it had never been cleaned. The refrigerator was missing all of the shelves. A big hole right behind the patio that was "going to be filled within a week". The stairs and upstairs creek with ever little movement. One of the toilet sheets had been chewed up by the previous dog and maintenance seemed shocked I wanted it replaced. There was something living in the attic above me. As far as the neighborhood it was just as bad. While living there I had my car hit in the parking lot while parked in front. Also the neighbor kids had egged my car. The people living next me regularly got into screaming matches and the house/ my place would smell like weed. Maintenance is a joke as it takes them forever to "fix" makeshift something to work. And manage will tell you anything to move in. It was the worst 15 months while living there.

This is literally the worst place I have ever lived! When we moved in, the leasing manager, Amara, who showed us around was awesome. 6 months later and management has changed a couple times already.The new manager, Ashley Call, is rude and very unhelpful. Our water heater burst at 4am on Saturday night/Sunday morning, and it is currently 4:40pm on Monday and we still don't have hot water! This is an emergency request so you would think it would be treated as such. I definitely plan to move out when my lease ends and would never recommend this place to anyone. I am in property management at a luxury community downtown Indianapolis, and I couldn't imagine treating any of my residents the way the that I've been treated while living at Castleton Manor. If you live here, just plan on never having your work orders taken care of even if your rent is paid on time, every month.

Only move here if you don't care if things get fixed! I've been waiting for over a year for repairs. I've written the regional manager and still nothing. Can't wait until this long lease is over!! Although I love the floor plans it's not worth the misery!!

HEAD MY WARNING!My girlfriend and I, decided to start the process of moving into Castleton Manor. They called us the MORNING we were supposed to move in, saying they found ROACHES in the Unit. They provided us with two options from there, a full refund of deposit, or we could still move in and they would treat them. Obviously we chose the refund and found a more affordable/Professional place. Please don't move here. The most unprofessional experience ever. PS: they pushed our move-in date back 3 times, so I assume they knew about this issue way sooner.

Moved in February 2022 and immediately notified office that building washer is broken. I called and emailed to follow up on when it would be fixed. It is now February 2023 my lease ends in March and the washer has still not been fixed. A notice was put on our building stating other residents would be using our washer... which means this is not an isolated event. Why would they put this notice if they had been advised that the washer is broken? Well because management is incompetent. Trash bins usually overflow with trash. They use the same PIN for multiple buildings. They rarely answer the the phone. I reported that a apt door across the hall from us had been busted open a week ago and they have not addressed that either. I WARN YOU DO NOT RENT HERE. Zero stars if possible.

the leasing office will not answer your calls or call you back if you leave a message. They'll scalp you with hidden fees they tack onto your rent and maintenance won't come when you call. My fridge has been broken since I moved in. Our building washing machine? broken for 2 months. Don't waste your time or your money especially since your neighbors will keep you up all hours bumpin their shit in the parking lot so loud your windows and furniture vibrate on the second floor. worst apartment I've ever had the misfortune of living in. And the women at the office are condescending and rude when the truth is they don't know what they're doing and are dumber than the dog you paid an extra $200 to live with.

Lived there from 2015 to 2021 and then bought a house. First of all the matinence is a joke. Never got carpet cleaned !! Not even for lease renewal . The microwave blew up and exploded and they came in 2 week and only replaced the door. No compensation for damage or not having a microwave. A spot of water only comes up in the toliet, so you will always be scrubbing. Matience enter when they are not supposed to and never leave notes. My nanny came showed them messing with my personal things. I asked for blind replacement, never got it , so when I moved, they want to charge me for the cheap broken ones. Never painted. The apartment was not walked through before I moved in. I was told they would get to these things. Never did . Not worth it . Now that Im a homeowner, they are sending me charges for shit they should have done before I moved in. Making up charges. Dont live there !!

Wow...just wow...called last week to confirm our move in date and they had no idea who my leasing agent was and was confused who we were. They call back on our move in day to confirm its July 28th as we're packing ip the uhaul...no its today July 25. She gets confused and says we're okay to move in. Says the lease and keys are on the counter (we lived 3hrs away). Get to the apartment...straight up trashed. My girlfriend was crying. There is no possible way the agent walked around that apartment. Want to know how I know? The huge dead bullfrog on the living room floor, the holes on the carpet and ceilings, missing knob on stove, drywall mud on the hardwood floors, exposed wires in closet. Flat out redicilious! You want me to pay $1,075 for that? You can consider my holding check cancelled and that lease will NOT be signed. Try and fight it. This place is a SLUM!

This is one of the worst places to live. The staff in the front office will do absolutely nothing you ask them to, and are not flexible. Anthony, who works in the front office, is awful. He gives off a great vibe as though he's really listening to your concerns and has solutions, but there's never any follow through. We complained multiple times about maintenance not fixing the heat and the fences having fallen over and laying in the patio for 5 months, neighbors constantly being rude and not leaving any parking spaces because they had multiple vehicles, and flooding in the apartment from the sewage being backed up and each time, non of our needs were met. The heat was off for the entire day and it was below 45 outside and I had to call in twice and go up to the office myself to finally get someone to come and fix it. They charge random fines for everything as well, they'll probably charge us for the stains in the carpet that were left after the maintenance fixed the flooding from the bathroom due to the sewage being messed up after excessive rainfall. Now they have fees on keeping up your patio neat even though they wooden fences fall over after even light gust of wind. This is the worst renting experience I have ever had with the worst staff ever. Save yourself the headache and never move here.
