What a wonderful experience! And with a new symphony conductor, this year should be its best yet for the carmel symphony!

I recently had the chance to check out the Carmel Symphony Orchestra during their annual holiday extravaganza that included special performances, the Indianapolis Ballet Conservatory, and a choir from Second Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis. The Carmel Symphony Orchestra is an 80-member fully professional Resident Orchestra of The Palladium at The Center for the Performing Arts. It was started in 1976 and Maestro David Commanday was just this week named their new conductor. It's scheduled to go through the 2024-2025 season minimally. The orchestra also holds the Young Artists Competition. The concert itself was exceptional. The orchestra sounded amazing and, of course, the Palladium is an excellent venue with tremendous acoustics and sound quality. The guest performances were beautifully coordinated, as well. The Carmel Symphony Orchestra is a non-profit organization and their various concerts reach about 50,000 people annually. In 2010, the symphony performed on Michael Feinstein's release "We Dreamed These Days" and has performed with quite a few greats throughout its existence and especially since establishing its relationship with the Center for the Performing Arts.

Beautiful-sounding orchestra in a beautiful building. I attended a socially distant classical concert here and enjoyed the show. The conductor gave a moving speech about how grateful she and the orchestra are to be able to perform again. Audiences are spread out and masks are required. The orchestra members are masked and distant--the full orchestra is not present, they alternate performances.

Wonderful seats! Great opportunity to see beautiful voices sing your favorite Christmas carols. Thanks for a wonderful time! Maybe the only thing I would improve on is letting those use restrooms even if they have an outside drink. I would also say that if there is a waiting area for those who are meeting people, it should be larger and have seating especially with the older clientele the symphony normally has.
