First time attending and we had a blast! Adorable homes w different musicians, food vendors, local breweries and wineries. We chose to just walk and enjoy, but you're allowed to bring chairs and sit on the street. We brought our dogs and enjoyed the community. I'm glad Market District had their food truck, The Table. We tried the chicken and waffles, mac n cheese, and the cauliflower salad- which basically tasted like a baked potato! Yum! Tried the Malbec from the wine truck, grabbed a lemon shakeup and some popcorn. We also noticed a kids lemonade stand and also supported them as well! They had all different kinds of musicians from pianists, rock bands, acoustics, etc. Finished up some Boba tea at Poke! We can't wait to come back again next year!

Live, local music on (adorable) neighborhood porches? And it's free to attend, and dog and family friendly! Yes, please!More than 40 acts, ranging from solo artists to groups of 4+ of all genres take the stages on the side streets of the Carmel Arts & Design District for four hours of free, live entertainment. I went today for the first time and was thrilled to see so many people in attendance - some strolling, some camped out in lawn chairs, others stumbling upon the action by way of the Monon Trail. There are a few (but not many) food trucks and beverage booths, so perhaps bring your own - at least a water bottle because this year it was HOT. Smart that the map and list of acts are printed on a handy lanyard. Tweet your fave with the official hashtag and help them win $!

Last year was our first to attend the Porchfest in Carmel. Looking forward to this Sunday for round 2! A perfect walking tour of quaint homes and a variety of musicians playing for audiences on the move. We took our rolling cooler and a blanket concerts in the lawn literally! This is a family friendly event and also great for adults only depending on what you carry in your cooler. Hope for another sunny porchfest in Carmel. Was a beautiful day for dancing in the streets, toe tapping and enjoying music.

Porchfest is my favorite event of the entire year! Just something about walking around and running into friends and neighbors all while enjoying great music! I do wish the event was longer so we could enjoy more of the music. I just love local music. One of my friend's bands was even in it this year! So a bunch of us met up to cheer them on and listen. It was super HOT this year so kind of was not fun dragging our chairs around and there wasn't much shade on the street we ended up on most of the day. I missed the cooler weather of previous year. Everyone brings chairs. Some bike there and they had bike parking. We also took a cooler with drinks and some snacks. Lots of people do the same. This was the first year that I saw they actually had food and drinks for sale! It was about time for sure. Market District was there with a huge setup. I loved they had some high top tables to stand at while eating. They also had some other seating. They had a ton of choices. We had eaten already. I hadn't realized there would be food. I late saw it in the ad, but we had gone to brunch before hand. There were a few other places like Greek's Pizza and Peace Water Winery was there too. The Current in Carmel had a map and a list of all the musical acts. I sometimes try to map out who we want to see. It's really tough to narrow it down, but really you can only see 4 or 5 of the acts if you stay for the entire show. I'd love to see more of the acts. Carmel really comes together for this event. It's a must do and I put in on the calendar so I make sure we don't miss it. I do wish it wasn't a Sunday. Or even a little later. My husband was sad to miss the Colt's game. He taped it, but I know a lot of the guys stayed home in our group to watch it instead.

30+ music acts playing on the porches and yards of houses in the Arts District. The music covers many genres - rock, blues, country, folk, etc. It's free and all the houses are within a couple of minutes walking distance of each other so you can move to different acts fairly quickly. This is a very innovative idea that works very, very well. The streets were fairly crowded and I expect the event to grow significantly in the coming years.
