I have been to the Joyce Winner West Branch of CCPL a couple times. Joyce Winner was a local philanthropist and avid book reader. When she passed, her husband James Winner, seized the opportunity to support the newly constructed library in her honor. Joyce was well known in the community and within local book clubs. Today, her legacy is vivid throughout the beautiful library facility in West Clay. There is a photo of Joyce in the Children's Area of the library. The library is new, upscale with lot's of book-themed art and fixtures. The children's section has a great selection of colorful and award winning titles. There are study areas upstairs offering a quiet work space. And of course, there is free WiFi throughout out. The librarians are wonderfully helpful and engaging. This week, I took my granddaughter to the library. We read several books by the cozy fireplace in the sunroom area. I also read the daily newspapers. We picked up several of the monthly craft kits available to stimulate creativity of the patrons. My granddaughter also worked on the large mosaic puzzle that changes monthly in the library. Books that are not available at this branch can be ordered from other branches. There is street parking out front. This is a wonderful little library with a lot of interesting activities. Don't forget to pick up the Spice of the Month packet at the front desk (the April spice is rosemary).

I'm a big library gal and have enjoyed having two Carmel library locations! You can return or check out books to either location and there's even a mini book drop-off window. The staff here are amazing and always so happy you're there. They hide a little stuffed animal in the kid's area for kids to find and always have a little kids recipe and mix that you can pick up over there too. They also have an adult dinner recipe and spice mix each month that you can pick up and shares info about a book to learn more. Such a cool idea. There is a main book area, upstairs private rooms, and a side room that's full of windows and beautiful natural light. It's quiet and peaceful, a great respite in The Village of West Clay neighborhood. We're glad you're here!

This is the cutest little library! It just feels cozy, rather than claustrophobic. There are a lot of little personal touches that are so special. The book-inspired chandelier features pages from the Grapes of Wrath, there are book sconces on the wall, and even the restrooms are "papered" with literary-style print. Each month they give away a spice packet and recipe to try, which is quite a neat community resource. When I visited, the librarian on staff gave me two great book recommendations that I will have to try!

The Carmel Clay Library has a new branch, and it's on Carmel's westside! Now West Carmelites don't have to schlep all the way to midtown to visit the library. The Joyce Winner West Branch is much smaller than the main Carmel branch. But it makes use of all its space and is thoughtfully designed. The first floor is where you will find all the books and movies, as well as a meeting room that you can reserve. There is also a beautiful sunroom with lots of couches and chairs to lounge in, as well as a fireplace. The large wall of windows in this area was streaming with sun when we visited, and it looked like a nice place to sit and enjoy some reading. The children's wing is on the left when you enter, and it takes up about half of the downstairs area. There aren't any toys or places to play like the main branch, but there are lots of books and movies to choose from, as well as little chairs to sit in. Upstairs is where you will find the study nooks with outlets for plugging in devices. This library also has a water bottle refilling station by the restrooms. Nice touch! This library is located in the Village of West Clay, so it's a somewhat circuitous drive through neighborhoods. Street parking is limited, but there is a free public parking area just around the corner of the library.

What a lovely new branch of the Carmel Clay Public Library on the city's west side! This is a small location but there are sections for children, young adults and adults like a typical library. You can place holds for materials and pick-up here or the main branch. They have two large study spaces on the "upstairs" part and it looks like more seating to the right of the entrance. My favorite feature: a drive-thru book drop off in the back! Pull right up and don't even leave your car to return books.Visit now while it's still new, because most of the books are brand new and it's a book lover's dream.

This is a great place to do work and read. It's beautifully decorated and a very enjoyable environment. The only drawback is that there is not a ton of seating.
