This is one of my absolute favorite restaurants in the city. From dining on the patio with a pitcher of sangria to people watch in the summer to working lunches, the environment is perfect for all. The service is always great and the perfect amount of attentiveness. You HAVE to get the garlic feta added to your fries, other wise it's like you weren't even there

I frequently walk around Broad Ripple and have always passed Canal Bistro. I finally had time to stop by today and was immediately seated on their outdoor patio. My table decided to have a light snack before heading to the airport, so we split appetizers. We ordered the saganaki, mazza plate, and a chicken shawarma sandwich. The saganaki was flamed on the spot, so the cheese was extra hot and gooey. The mazza plate came with a choice of 4 popular Mediterranean staples, so we got the feta cheese, baba ganoush, spanakopita, and tabouli. My favorite from the plate was the feta - it wasn't your ordinary store-bought feta and tasted so fresh and soft in texture.I'd love to come back to Canal Bistro's patio during the spring/summer. Their outdoor space is such a great environment to host a group/party meal!

There is a clear reason this Broadripple staple has been around so long. The food and service is spot on. Standouts on the menu for me are the greek fries, hearty gyro platter, and the absolutely unbelievable baklava sundae.

This is my favorite summer spot. Located right on the canal in Broad Ripple, the scenery is always beautiful and the people watching isn't half bad either. Their greek food is authentic and so fresh - I'm always basic and get the gyro sandwich. My tip? Spend the $1.50 to add garlic feta to your fries - trust me, it's worth it. In the summer? Grab a mojito with fresh mint.

This is probably the 4th or 5th time that I have been to this wonderful place! Each time go, I remember just how awesome the staff is and just how amazing the food is!!! Canal Bistro is located in the heart of Broad Ripple right off the Canal and provides a great ambiance for both indoor and outdoor seating! Last time I went we ordered the Calamari for the table and I opted for the Chicken Shawarma sandwich and I of course upgrade my fries to the Garlic Feta Fries!!! The Calamari was crispy and tender which never disappoints. The sandwich was very good with each bite having a little bit of each flavor in it. And of course the Garlic Feta Fries were amazing and they never disappoint! Great place for any occasion! -- be sure to check it out!

What a gem it is to have authentic Mediterranean food in Broad Ripple Village! The outdoor seating is so perfect to walk to and enjoy during nice weather, but the vibe inside is right on point as a Mediterranean bistro. Don't miss out on their warm Moussaka this winter, or their fun brunch in the mornings. We've only had great service here and will continue to come back, can't wait to try the ice cream this spring!

Canal Bistro is a delicious staple in Broad Ripple that's a step up in quality than some of the casual lunch spots in the neighborhood if you're looking for a special spot to celebrate something. You'll notice prices are a little higher, but you get generous portions and complimentary pita bread with oil and herbs. This visit I opted to try the spicy tilapia as a sandwich/wrap and really enjoyed the combination of flavors with the perfect hint of spice. The garlic feta fries served on the side for a small up charge were completely worth it too! My husband's lamb shank was cooked beautifully and the house salad had a delicious, refreshing dressing.Canal Bistro happens to have some of the best outdoor seating in Indianapolis, right off the Broad Ripple canal with a large covered porch! Their dining room seating is nice for those seeking an indoor option, but I encourage you to visit on a nice day and dine al fresco. Pro tip - Canal Bistro owns a new ice cream shop on the side of their building called Canal Creamery if you're looking for a sweet treat after your meal. The baklava sundae is delicious and big enough to share!

Due to my soy allergy, I called ahead of time to ensure that items on the menu could be eaten by me. The owner assured me that the only soy used was a combination of soy and oil used for frying. "if you order anything that isn't fried you will not have a problem. "Made reservations. Arrived at restaurant only to find out no reservation. Could not eat outside, since they had no reservation. Explain our conversation. Did we get confirm code? Additional telephone number? Name? Ok without confirmation you will need to eat inside No problem we were given a very small table. A waiter served what looked like green olive oil with spice and warm bread. I ate some and commented that the olive oil tasted flat. Waiter came for order and had to check on what I could eat. Seems a change has been made and they do not have any plain olive oils. Everything is a mixture of soy and olive oil. The waiter says you can 't eat this pointing at the bread and there are two items you can order. You can't have a salad or soup. No side dishes. My husband asked about flaming cheese. We ordered that and a beer. (That was it)Our bill was $38.00+ and did not have dinner I have included a picture of a menu stating olive oil You may not have an allergy but you are getting ripped of if you think you are eating olive oil. You are not

Jessie our server was exceptional! Although she was fairly new, she provided all the answers we had regarding the Mediterranean influenced menu. Met some friends for Saturday brunch, had the Grilled Salmon & Eggs. Very yummy and big portion. Canal Bistro offers both indoor and outdoor seating. Good food, good experience, I will return!
