Cafe Soleil is amazing! It's located inside Eskenazi Hospital (the east-south building) and is a sit-down restaurant with amazing food, low prices, and they pay people fairly so there's no tipping. Woo!The salad bar has everything you could want - spinach, arugula, many toppings, fresh fruit, sunflower and chia seeds, plenty of meat including shrimp, and much more...for only $7.99 or $4.99 in addition to an entree. They have a healthy special of the day low in calories for around $5.99 - I like the salmon with cucumber sauce and peas. They have a regular special of the day as well. Once it was stuffed shells with chicken in Alfredo for $8.99 and that was great! On Fridays the salad bar becomes a hot buffet in addition to salad - sometimes it's BBQ (pulled pork, chicken, etc) or tacos, etc. All this plus salad bar is only $11.99. Their chili is one of the best bowls of chili I've had! I honestly have loved everything. Service is amazing. And Eskenazi employees get 10% off! They have a to-go Cafe Soleil next door as well. It includes anything from the menu plus has awesome and inexpensive fro-yo, Scholars Inn bakes goods, and more local snacks!

I ordered the Better Than Your Mama's Meatloaf and it was actually pretty decent. Definitely not better than my mothers but it was better than a lot of restaurants.

Who knew this place existed? I didn't, until a counterpart told me about it! Basically Cafe Soleil is a sit down restaurant (I believe run by Eskenazi Health?) where tipping is not allowed/required and has many options (including a salad bar at lunch). I've been here twice and both dishes have been delicious and the price point right on target. Most recently I came here with my work partner and got their version of huevos rancheros...wow! So flavorful and served over rice instead of the traditional tortilla. In addition, our server was so friendly and accommodating. I'd come here every day if I could!

Seriously, for the quality & value at Cafe Soleil, it's easily THE best kept secret in Indy. Healthy food doesn't have to mean only salads (though they do have a great salad bar), and the food at Soleil aims for healthy but doesn't skimp on flavor or variety. They recently implemented themed lunch buffet on Fridays, and they also rotate through seasonal menu offerings so you never feel bored with the choices here. My current obsession is the tuna steak available from their summer menu. It comes with a tomato/cucumber salad for $9. Nowhere else in Indy is feeding you healthy delicious food like Soleil.

If you are near Eskenazi Health and craving tasty food, Cafe Soleil is your spot. Wait...good food IN a hospital? Say it ain't so! Dear friends, I would not lead you astray. Please read on. Located within the Fifth Third Office Building on the first floor just past the Starbucks, Cafe Soleil is hands down my place to go when needing tasty food. They also happen to house my salad bar of choice. So fresh. So tasty. Great variety. Proteins rotate every day -- so you can expect chicken, salmon, shrimp, turkey, ham, tofu, and others in some combination every day. Some of the fresh leafy ingredients are even grown on the top of the Eskenazi Outpatient Care Center (7th floor) on the Sky Farm! If you dine in, it is an all you can eat salad bonanza. If you opt to take it out, you can fill that plastic clamshell to the tippy top and jam pack it full of tasty topping goodness. Either way, it's less than 8 bucks. Yes, you read that correctly. 8 bucks. They usually even include some type of dessert on the bar. True story.Speaking to the rest of the menu, all items are very well priced and tasty. The *only* thing I have had that I did not care for was the honey crusted chicken breast (dry as all get out), but other than that -- amazing. They have baked onion rings that my co-worker craves on the daily. OH! Don't forget to ask about the $5 heart healthy meal of the day. Yes, $5 for a whole healthy meal. And a little known fact? You don't tip your server here. All servers are paid an hourly wage by Eskenazi and cannot accept tips. Just sit back and enjoy! :)

I spend my day between the IUPUI campus and VA medical center, and been lucky enough to run into this restaurant inside the third fifth building connected to Eskenazi Hospital. This restaurant is a sit down restaurant, there is no mandatory tipping (but you can leave cash at the table for your server), and there are plenty of food options. Food ranges from meatloaf platter to spicy tofu stir fry, essentially whatever your craving they probably have something for you. There is brunch served, a salad bar, and occasionally a hot buffet bar.The prices are unbeatable for the quality of food you get. I have had delicious, filling lunch for under $8 (which is great because student money needs to go a long way).If you find yourself near Eskenazi and need a place to eat, definitely try this place out.ALSO they have take out orders, so for those who need food to-go they got chu.

Whenever, you're at Eskenazi Health Hospital you should have lunch at Cafe Soleil, or if you're in the area. The lunch menu has definitely changed over the years. On, Fridays there are different themes for the buffet like last Friday May 10th it was seafood from fried butterfly shrimp, salmon patties, fish, pasta with shrimp. The menu including buffet does offer healthy food choices for everyone. One, of my favorite meals for lunch is the turkey burger, with only mayonnaise, side of skillet mac and cheese, and sweet tea to drink. Cafe Soleil is located in the Fifth Third Bank building. The food variety are turkey burger, ground beef burger, chicken pot pie, chilli, soup, salad, ribs. Etc, and now desserts.

Healthy and delicious for an amazing price, Eskenazi has a great thing going with it's Cafe Soleil ! This restaurant is probably the best value in the city. The menu is full of fresh and delicious choices, but the best value is probably their salad bar. So many options and unlimited visits, it's definitely a bang for your buck. The Seriously Amazing Club is excellent, and lives up to it's name, the Fruit and Nut Salad is a great choice as well. They also have a Sunday Buffet brunch that looks AMAZING!!! They deliver as well so if you can't visit the restaurant you can still get their great food at their amazing prices delivered to you.

I think if Café Soleil was located anywhere else, I would give it 3 stars. However, if you're located on the far northwest side of campus and unable to leave, you're pretty much stuck with hospital cafeteria food (or Duos, thankfully)....so, Café Soleil can seem like a partial miracle. You are seated, you are waited upon, and your food comes out on real plates with actual silverware and a cloth napkin. Best of all, the menu prices are incredibly cheap, especially when compared to the lower quality, but just as expensive, nearby cafeteria options. Since the café's employees agreed to forego tips in exchange for a living wage, you are not required to tip. And if you do tip, the tip is supposedly donated to a charity/foundation.The food is average-to-good, depending on what you order. I've been happy with the grilled chicken nachos, which are dressed with black beans, olives and pico de gallo. It avoids the nuclear-orange nacho sauce and is not too greasy. Many of my co-workers have gushed over the ribs special...yes, ribs...at a hospital café. I would recommend avoiding a visit exactly at noon, since it appears a lot of Eskenazi medical personnel and Riley defectors swarm the place and you sometimes have to wait for a table. Café Soleil is not part of the main Eskenazi Health building, but located next to the Starbucks on the 1st floor of the attached Fifth Third Bank building.

The reason that I give 4 is because of the price and food are coincided. The menu that I will recommend is the ribs and half & half, Po boy shrimps half wrap and cafe Cobb salad. It's the best sneak out of clinic choice!
