If you've never had Thai food before, think of the level of spice you think you can handle and take it down a level when ordering. If you have had Thai food before, they have varying levels of spice and can even do 1/2 levels."

"Asian cuisine is my comfort food. And Thai Recipes has the best Tom Yum Goon where every spoonful soothes the soul! Whenever I'm under the weather, I like a nice warm soup (like who doesn't, right?!) I found out about Thai coconut soup from another place at 56th street, but was so thrilled to find Thai Recipes Restaurant on the south side of the city. And their soup is amazing.I recently tried their chicken and beef pad Thai, and again amazing! They have a really good coconut chicken soup as well if you're not a seafood lover, that I would recommend.And everything is so reasonably priced. If you're going for the first time, maybe go during their lunch hours, for you to try some items at a smaller portion and a slightly smaller price. But you can get a feel for it before you order dinner, at a slightly higher price. Still reasonable just slightly higher. I've not had an opportunity to dine in- I usually order to-go. But it's a nice, clean and calm atmosphere when I do go inside. So if you love, delicious Thai food check it out and let me know what you think !"

Lunch is offered from 11:00 - 3:00 p.m. and dinner is from 4:00 - 9:00 p.m. Note they are closed between 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.When we arrived, a patron was leaving and informed us they were only offering takeout. Their furnace had broken so there wasn't heat. They did have a couple of large space heaters where guests could be warm while waiting for their takeout. It was very considerate of them.We ordered the Thai Dumplings with ground pork and veggies wrapped in a wonton skin and steamed. I love these dumplings and should place 2 orders as my lunch or dinner. They are that flavorful and so tasty.My husband ordered the Pad Wun Sen, #27, hot, with chicken, stir-fried silver noodles, and mixed veggies (no mushrooms) in a tasty brown sauce He loves his Thai food, prepared hot, and tonight did not disappoint. He was very happy with dinner.I ordered my usual Pad Kee Mao, #26, medium heat, flat noodles, chicken, stir-fried egg, and mixed veggies (minus broccoli and add cabbage) in a Thai Basil sauce. I love the flat noodles and could order just a plate of flat noodles without meat or veggies. They are never overcooked and delicious. The chicken was tender and bite- size, plus the veggies were crisp-tender. It's always my favorite Thai meal.The restaurant was chilly without heat, but as always, the server was polite and friendly, plus made a point to make sure the heater was close to me. Our order arrived quickly, and we were on our way within minutes.Even under unwanted conditions, they remained open, professional, and apologetic. We are always very happy dining at Thai Basil."

This one is a bit different in that the noodles aren't the big flat ones you'd expect, but still a flat rice noodle. Holy cow! The flavors are tantalizing. 26 -- pad see ewe -- a new adventure! I had chicken fried rice, it was very good. The rice is very fluffy and moist. While this doesn't seem like a big deal, it kind of is because I've had other fried rice that was very dry. Thai Iced Tea was also good. A little on the sweeter side, but good.Solid place to get reasonably priced Thai Food."

"Vibes: Seem to be primarily a DoorDash or delivery place but the service was very fast. It is good for dine in too. I got the pad see ew. It came out fast and hot. The noodles were great with mild spicy flavor. Thai Basil is used and that was one of the highlights because it really adds Thai flavor to the entire dish. Side of Tom yum soup. The veggies are very well stir fried. There is Carrot, bell pepper, crispy crunchy lettuce, and broccoli and they all have a slight stir fry char and aren't undercooked either. The same goes for the egg. Execution was very good because it is not swimming in weird sauce it's properly stir fried and seasoned. Portion size was just right and I had a little to take home for leftovers. $13 made this very very affordable."

"My partner and I have found a new favorite!The prices are definitely more mid range but you get what you pay for in terms of quality and quantity. Our favorites include the tofu surprise (vegan friendly!) which comes with either fried or steamed rice and veggies. They offer the sauce on the side to pour over the veggies and tofu which is perfect for me. The tofu had a nice breading. Tender and juicy. The sauce itself has a little heat to it, along with a little sweetness. It's not overwhelming and easy on the belly. The flavor profile is probably more subtle, but I think it pairs nicely.The crispy veggie spring rolls are by far the best thing on the menu. They can stand on their own (without the sauce) or pair nicely with it. They don't give a lot of sauce for the (5) rolls given, which is kind of a bummer, but outside of that, very flavorful and they have a nice C R U N C H to them. Packed with veggies and, though fried, also easy on the belly.We order for delivery and have never gotten cold food. They package their items to maintain their temperature. Workers are also very nice to chat with you if you have questions about their menu, too!Give them a try!"

"Felt like I should update this since it's been four years. Asian Grill used to be one of my favorite restaurants, and it's definitely still good, but just not the same.They've completely redone the entire concept. No longer a sit-down, waiter-comes-to-the-table situation. Now you order at a counter, or even at a kiosk, and you go up to get it when your number is called. This has all sorts of ramifications...smaller menu (many of the best items slashed, like avocado soup, samosas, etc.), no ability to subsitute things or ask for things to be left out (they will tell you no). Theoretically this is supposed to make it all go faster, since one of the common complaints with the restaurant before was the slow wait time. My parents said they've been there a few times since the remodel and it was quick, but last night we went and it was not very fast, so makes me wonder whether the conceptual change accomplished what it was going for.Food is still good, I just don't feel strongly about it like I did back in the day. Partially because a lot of new, great restaurants have come into the area since the years when I frequented Asian Grill (~2013-2015ish)."

The service has always been great and each meal has been consistently good. Yes, it is located along Rockville Road, an incredibly busy 4 lane road, in a small strip center. Once your inside the stress of the outside world seems to disappears.Thai Lanna serves lunch and dinner. Dinner selections are the Thai standards of salads, noodles, fried rice dishes, stir-fried, and curry options. They serve lunch Monday through Friday (11-2). The lunch options ($8.95) come with soup and a wonton. We've had the Thai Veggie Egg Rolls and the steamed pork Dumplings. Both are very good. I do miss the egg rolls that came with the lunch selections and replaced with a wonton.After making your entree decision select your meat, vegetarian or tofu. Then determine your favorite spice level from no spice, medium, hot to Thai hot. Start with a lower spice level if your not a spicy person.Hubby has tried the Phad Sweet and Sour with stir-fried pork (choice of meat, tofu or vegetarian) with tomato, cucumber, onion, bell pepper, pineapple, carrot and celery. It's very flavorful with lots of veggies. His favorite entree is the Spicy Fried Rice with egg, onions, bell peppers, carrots, tomato, green onions, snow peas and basil. If you enjoy fried rice then try this. I am hooked on PahdKee Mao ( Drunken Noodle) with choice of stir-fried meat, flat noodles, mushrooms, onions, tomato, bell pepper and basil. I love the sauce, the large, tender noodles and all the veggies. When I do want a change I enjoy the Massaman Curry with choice of meat/tofu in coconut milk, Massaman curry paste, potatoes, onions, brocolli, carrots and ground peanuts. I love curry, the rich potatoes and the nutty, coconut flavors.Don't miss this wonderful Thai restaurant in Avon on Rockville Road next door to Ugly Crab."

The crab ragoons were huge the filling was not good at all and had no crab and were flavorless. I received my order with fried rice and it took two attempts to get the white rice. My meal was just okay. The entrée was bland. There was no Pao to my dish. I asked for spicy and definitely was not. Didn't taste authentic, more cooked from frozen. I had plenty of food leftover but left unfulfilled. Although I was the only one in the restaurant at the time, I didn't see her again during my meal. At the end she appeared and asked for a to go box. Once she gave it to me I started writing and finished this review and decided she wasn't coming back. I stood up and she was behind me watching something on her phone and eating! She was surprised to see me! Although lousy service I still tipped, less than normal!! Although I have a new place for mani/pedi, that's my first and last time at Rice Cooker!"

My orange shrimp was deliciously flavored. There are restaurants that minimize their flavors to appeal to an American palate.Thai Charm is authentic. Even mild was a bit spicy for my palate, however the food burst with flavors. Their food is served in generous portions. The restaurant accommodated the special dietary needs of one diner. The ambiance between the wait staff and our group, there were ten of us, was excellent. The owner came and chatted with us. One of our members had recently returned from touring Thailand and a great conversation ensued. We love supporting independent restaurants. With Thai Charm only being in business 16 months (as of July 2024); we all wished them the best of success."

The dining room is colorful with umbrellas hanging from the ceiling and other Thai decor that makes you forget that you are in a strip mall. There are only 10 tables, but they are spaced apart nicely. There is a bar in the room that serves wine, beer and saki. The room is dim with love tunes by Sinatra and Elvis playing in the background.Our server, Kyle, is all welcoming smiles as she brings us a bowl of Thai soup before we order. The soup is hot and good on this cold afternoon. They offer a dozen lunch specials. She asks it we have been in before and tell us that they have been open for two years. I order the Pad Kee Mao with Tofu, as I'm trying to eat a little healthier. Lunch comes out quickly. A small salad and egg roll are included with lunch. The egg roll is crispy and the salad fresh. There is a generous portion of Pad Kee Mao and vegetables are hot and medium spice level is perfect for me. My lunch is delicious.My husband has Pad Thai with Chicken. He said the noodles were cooked to perfection. He ate every last morsel. The hostess and Kyle kept our water glasses full and checked on us frequently. There's plenty of parking in the strip mall. The restaurant and rest rooms are handicapped accessible and clean. We will definitely be back."
