"Some places reach a level of perfection in their food and service unmatched by others. These places usually stay hidden, preserved for a special crowd to enjoy them in secret. Once in a while though, those places are smack in the middle of the city, not far from some of the major attractions, and all you have to do is enter their doors and sit down to enjoy some of the best food you'll ever have in a region. Such is the case with Agave & Rye in Covington. Our discovery of Agave & Rye was incredibly fortuitous. I had just landed from South Florida, here to celebrate my niece and nephew's birthday. Half of my family was set to arrive in a hour and a half and we needed something to eat. It was late at night, we looked for a highly recommended spot for food, and lo and behold, Yelp always comes in clutch! But when we arrived at the location suggested they had just closed their kitchen and were solely focused on drinks. Hungry and disappointed, we ventured the streets of Covington once more. And as we were passing by Agave & Rye we couldn't help but notice people still sitting outside enjoying their meals.Luckily for us, there was a waitress passing by at the moment who told us we'd just arrived in time. Her name was Taylor. When it comes to customer service, Taylor's is unmatched. Not only was she in charge of serving the customers in the outside sitting area, but also training a new employee. We asked her for recommendations, and she guided us brilliantly. And so, under her guidance, we proceeded to order. One of the orders was for an Epic Taco - The Bomb taco. I decided for the Grilled Birria Burrito. And Oh My God! What a great decision that was! The burrito was perfect. There was flavor and deliciousness in every bite. Next time I promise to try one of the Epic Tacos. And how can you not. Besides the aforementioned one, you also have on the menu, the Jedi Taco, the Alderman taco, the Bang Bang, the Rooster, the Green Goddess, and the Love Shack 2.In conclusion, we truly ran into a gem. I can't wait to go back and continue enjoying the wonderful food and the great service at Agave & Rye."
"So glad we went there today.. my family and I really enjoyed our lunch there today and on Taco Tuesday to boot!Food: delicious and creative fusion tacos. We had several items but the standouts for us were:Crispy Elote Deviled Eggs: so good, could've had two orders solo... we gobbled them up playing video games (yes, see below)The Dae-Bak Clucker: juicy and spicy Korean fried chicken pieces with fried rice and assorted veggies.King of Birria: messy, tasty dipping goodness. Grateful for the extra consumé... worked well with everything else. The Crown Jewel: essentially lobster Mac and cheese but more flavorful and loved the taco shell texture. Legit big pieces of lobster!Ambiance: hip and lively vibe overall. Gorgeous murals and decor. IMO, perfect music selection and volume (immersion and still able to hear one another easily). FREE standup video games - we played Donkey Kong, Tapper, Pac-man and Capcom & Marvel SF. There were about eight machines in total - great fun while waiting for food.Service: Taria was great. She got everything we needed with a smile and wonderful sense of humor. She even gave us a tour of the space (which was pretty sizable!) when we asked about it.TLDR: if you have a goto Taco/fun place list, add this one immediately. If you don't have a list, start one with Agave and Rye (they have other locations too)!"

"We've been here several times but I had always forgot to do a review. It's always busy but food usually comes out pretty quick. If you're in here at lunch time it's pretty loud so beware of that if you are sensitive to noisy areas. I have noticed some inconsistency with the quality. Sometimes the tacos have more filling than others. Today we ordered queso which usually has more guacamole and hot sauce on it. It's creamy and smooth and has a little kick to it. Chips were warm and thin with a little salt Refied beans are smooth and always a perfect consistency Tipsy chick taco has an amazing grilled chicken flavor and the bacon marmalade should be sold in bottles. I get this taco every time I go here Taco of the month is Vagabond the meat was chewy and stringy. The bacon and pico and cheese was good but the meat made the taco not edible would not order it again Trailer park trashy taco fried chicken tender that stays crispy which is a huge plus cause no one wants a soggy piece of chicken. Hubby orders this one every time. Overall great experience as usual just wish they were more consistent."
"Going by my fellow yelpers reviews we stopped in here for lunch. We walked in and were immediately seated. The waitress brought us a carafe of iced water to our table but no salsa and chips. You have to buy the salsa and chips separately. We ordered the mango salsa (spicy hot but, oh the flavor)The red roasted salsa (delicious, bold flavor) Also ordered the cheese dip, ohhhhhh myyyyyyy, get the cheese dip!!! It's the best cheese dip I think I've ever had, deliciously addicting.Ordered the chicken fajitas. Again...ohhhhh myyyy. The chicken was thick, tender, well seasoned pieces with onions and hint of lime. Delicious. I took a picture of it but for some reason it won't upload to this platform. Highly, highly recommend this establishment!! Everything is great!!Get the cheese dip. Did I say get the cheese dip........yes, yes I did."
"Came in for a late night Sunday dinner with my husband. We were greeted quickly and told to sit anywhere we'd like. We started the meal with chips and queso. I thought the chips tasted fresh and were warm. The queso has more flavor than your typical restaurant queso. For my meal, I had the arroz con pollo. This was very good and I thought all the chicken in it was quality pieces. The waiter was attentive and friendly. They also have a salsa bar that is complimentary. I didn't walk up there to visit it, but my husband said it includes limes, pickled onions, salsas, etc.Overall, I will return here. This is a solid spot to satisfy a craving!"
"We stopped in here on a weekend getaway. Decent casual decor with outdoor seating. The outdoor seating overlooked a parking lot. The music playing inside was a bit much (VERY loud guitar), so outdoor was quieter. The food was good/not anything special. We got handhelds. The confit fries didn't suit our palates...the texture combinations just didn't work for us. The homemade chips were perfection...but would have loved a fancy dip with them. All in all, we might come back. But may prefer something with a bit more ambience to our liking.Either the ambience needs to be amazing, or the food has to knock our socks off...this place fell a bit flat on both ends. In conclusion, we would probably choose a different experience next time. Service was friendly & the food arrived quickly."
"Order at the counter and find a seat- the place was hoping on Saturday at 6pm. Service was quick to the table and the condiments deserve a shout- out for being fresh, clean and tasty!Recommend the Al pastor tacos, the campechanos were a tad dry but brought back to life by the salsa and fixings.Give them a try!"
"Stopped here while in Franklin at the antique market. Split review - it was a large place and not very busy, but service took so long I had to get up to find the server. I really enjoyed my food, but my friend didn't like hers at all."
"I recently visited Social Cantina on a Saturday night. I was pleasantly surprised that there wasn't a long wait and our group of 6 was able to be seated right away at 6:30! Our server was great at getting quick refills and was super friendly. The decor is also wonderful. My food was delicious, but it came out a bit cold, which was a bummer. My son had the kids meal and I had a quesadilla, chips and queso for under $7. I thought it was a good deal for all the food he got. Other than the food temperature I was satisfied with my visit and would return!"
"Solid food and service. We dined in and I had a taco and their loaded fries special. If you're dining in, you can grab a menu from the front and sit for table service. If you're getting carryout, you order at the counter. The menu isn't completely up to date, so you may want to look at their electronic menu board, too. I was excited about the fries special, but it was dry. Unseasoned fries topped with your choice of meat (we chose chorizo) and a little bit of crema. There are also cut up hot dogs wrapped in tortillas and deep fried. It was tasty (after adding salt and lime juice), but really dry. And I assumed there would be cheese, but there wasn't. They provide four hot sauces when you order tacos, along with fresh cucumbers, radish slices, and limes. I can handle about a medium heat, and unfortunately ALL four hot sauces were way too hot for me to eat."
"I went with a friend a few days ago on a coworker's recommendation and I am so glad I took it. This restaurant is so cute, the bar was gorgeous and I loved the "Ivy wall" decorations. We were there right around dinner time and our food came out so fast. It felt like we had just ordered and bam the food was there. I had the Beef Chimichangas with rice and beans it was so good. My friend got a chicken burrito, the chicken was seasoned very well. I also got a margarita so tasty. I will definitely be back to try more of their food."
"Amazing food! Ok, just skip the corporate owned Mexican restaurants and give this place a try. You will have to come early to get some tamales, we missed out. We came for a later lunch on a Saturday and this place was still busy. The table service was prompt and attentive and she allowed us to have a rolling order to sample a variety of foods. The food is amazing! Everything tastes fresh and we sampled some unique menu items that I don't usually see on other menus. Try the Gorditas and, if you are here on Saturday, the Birra tacos...Amazing! The other tacos are also worth a try."

Great tacos paired with a Little Red Corvette. I tried the "Just swipe right, the rooster and the filthy fajita" all were excellent tacos. My wife had the pick 3 chips and dip so the salsa, guacamole and queso were amazing. Portion sizes are very generous. Biggest downfall is the mixed drink prices, $14-15 each is a bit much. Only other strange part is the light fixtures, they don't really fit the vibe and are very dirty. All in all the wait staff was great and would definitely go back.

Great place for tacos! They serve some unusual creations. Everyone in my group loved what they selected. They are big, one was plenty! Loved the decor. I hope this place can survive- there were very few people there the night we went.

We checked out Torchy's this weekend, and the vibe was super cool and inviting. They had some great recommendations, including their churros, which we were excited to try. Unfortunately, they ran out while we were waiting for our order. We had to follow up a few times for an update, which was a bit frustrating, but the staff was kind when they finally got back to us.In the end, the Manager/Owner (not sure which) generously offered us two of their peanut butter cookies on the house--and honestly, I'm so glad they ran out of churros because those cookies were absolutely divine!Despite the minor hiccup, we really enjoyed the concept of this spot and will definitely be back to try more from the menu. Looking forward to our next visit!

I was in Bloomington this weekend and went here for a late lunch. The place was not full at all when we arrived at noon. It is big inside, open area with tons of seats. Our waiter was great and went through some of the items on the menu. We had the tacos, pork belly and ahi tuna. Both were decently portioned, filled me up, and tasted great. I would highly recommend trying this place out.

Salsa bar?? Margarita flights?? Freshly squeezed citrus for all the drinks?? Shut up and take my money! As first time patrons of Don Juan's Taqueria, we were pleasantly greeted by one of the family owners as we were seated. He proudly gave us a brief summary on the history of his family's successful business. We learned that this particular location was established in 2019 and has been thriving in the community since its grand opening. We can see why, too! The highly welcoming staff legitimately treats you like family (& not like the red-headed step-child. More like the long lost favorite abuelita. Lol!) We were given free reign of the salsa bar that absolutely has something for everyone. Geeen salsa, red salsa, spicy, mild... dealer's choice! The drinks were flavorful with a good kick of tequila. Nothing like other places that seem full of sugar and syrup. You can tell these are made with high quality ingredients. The entrées boast traditional flavors inclusive of my birria tacos that are made with actual goat meat and are served with a side of goat broth for dipping. SO FREAKING GOOD!!!! The moral of the story is that you should absolutely carve out some time to go treat yourself at Don Juan's Taqueria! The margarita flight is only $9.99 for 3 generous pours!!!! It's a sign! Go now! ¡Salud!

We've been here a handful of times and LOVE it. The food is always top notch, our servers have been incredibly attentive, and the restaurant itself is a great spot for date night, going out with friends, or sitting at the bar to catch a football game. This has become a favorite spot for date night for us. They have a seasonal menu for both drinks and food, and every time I try something new I find another dish to fall in love with. Well worth the price. Advice: try the garlic Parmesan boneless wings as an app, and ask for Christina to be your server if possible. She's one of the best!

Fresh, fresh, fresh ingredients brought together in amazing street tacos. I ordered the bbq pork and it was fantastic. There was a little container of pineapple that really took taste over the top. I chose black beans as my side and those black beans were wonderful. Tasty, perfectly prepared and fresh. My partner always goes fajita on me and of course the steak fajita was awesome. Get the queso it's perfect. The setting is spacious and clean w large booths and spacious tables. The decorations of are colorful and fun. We didn't have margaritas because it was Thursday midafternoon but the selection was like nothing we had ever experienced. Oh to be here on a Friday afternoon!!!

"I recently checked out this spot and had a seriously good time! I tried the Esquite Dog, which was really tasty, but it was the Fat Boy Birria Dog that stole the show. That dog was loaded with flavor, and the Birria tacos alongside were just as amazing--tender, juicy, and with that perfect hint of spice. I could sip on the consume all day! The only tiny hiccup was the horchata--it was a bit on the sweet side for my taste, but still enjoyable.Yes, it's a bit on the pricey side, but considering the quality and taste of the food, it's kind of worth every penny. Definitely recommend for a delicious treat!"
"We knew were in a good restaurant when our friendly server, Jamie, greeted us. I chose the restaurant because of its extensive and varied menu at Jamie was helpful in making suggestions and answering questions. The food was delicious."
"I can't believe I've never eaten here before!!! I am obsessed with Mexican food and I gotta say this is one of the best steak burritos I have ever had!! The hubs got steak nachos and they were amazing as well. The people that work there are so kind and it was very clean! Highly recommend if you want authentic Mexican!"
"I'm not joking when I say this is the best burger in the city. They are always SO juicy but not sloppy. They season them very well and the toppings/bun are premium and fresh. Cooked to medium every time. Highly recommend the All American and the Grippos burger! They have sweet potato waffle fries and "crunchy coating" type fries that are always fresh and very crispy. They also season these very well with salt. There is an extensive liquor and beer selection and their cocktail menu is pretty good! On top of it all, the service is fantastic and I like the atmosphere! A little bit of an interesting choice with the slight country theme mixed with upscale, but it oddly works. Overall give this restaurant a 9.5/10 and it's a must try if you're downtown for a show or game!"
"I eat these tacos every Friday. I get American style shrimp tacos on corn tortillas. I love them. It's delicious and very filling. They are speedy and offer delivery and pick up options."
"Love, love love this place!! Best soft mild tacos EVER!!! Best milkshakes! Best tenderloins! So much more to mention! Love that they are open year round now & that they have a drive thru! It's not the fastest but the wait is very worth it! If you are in the area make sure you stop by and get some great food!!!"
"Nice interior with music contributing to the ambiance. Salsa is smooth, tastes great. If you are a cheese lover order the Enchaladas El Morral. Good cheese in the Enchilada (flour shell instead of corn) as well as on top with the Verde sauce. Being a Verde sauce lover I would have preferred more Verde and less cheese but I'm sure I'm in the minority on that one! I took some from my companions carnitas, mmm, so it's all good! The carnitas were delicious!"
"I love this place! Probably the best street tacos! The staff was very friendly too.I ordered the tripa, suadero, and the lengua. If you order dorado style, they fry it and it ll be nice and crunchy. I only ordered one of those bc I didn't want everything to be too oily. I also ordered a small cup of consume to dunk my tacos in. I can't wait to come back honestly. So many things to try. The only bad thing about this place is the parking. Get here early!"
"Tucked inside a former Bob Evans, the northside of town finally gets a great, authentic taco place. These are the same folks that run Gil Tacos on Lynhurtst.Tacos are individually ordered and made-to-order. Tortas have a good amount of toppings on them. Very casual environment, ample parking but you have to pull into the side road near the BP to get to the restaurant. Follow the signs.Birria tacos are only served on weekends and are very flavorful. I didn't see consume on the menu, so not sure if they have it or not.Wife said these are among the best tacos she's had in a while. Come check out an Indianapolis staple at their new, second location!"
"I've driven by many times but never stopped in until today. The first issue I had was that the parking is behind the building, and then you have to walk back around to the front door. It's not a big deal but inconvenient if it's a rainy day or when it's dark, so something to keep in mind.It was empty when I walked in except for the staff/owners. I ordered a steak burrito, no beans for my daughter, and 3 tacos (chicken, steak, and carnitas) for myself. I asked for a second green sauce, and they also gave me a red sauce, and I also got a side of rice. The food overall was good, and the tacos were loaded with meat, onion, and cilantro. My daughter enjoyed her burrito, though she said the meat was very chewy. The carnitas taco was good, and I was surprised that they included the skin, which gave the taco some juiciness. The rice was good, though I felt it could have used some seasoning. I would eat here again, and it's close to where I live so very convenient."
"We sat outside on the patio, there was a nice breeze and fun eclectic music playing. Chip's and salsa were great and also had the Birria, which was excellent. Service was extremely pleasant! Food was authentic with a modern flare. Great place for Mexican! Will definitely be back very soon!"
"y'all weren't going to tell me about this place or what? i think it's new : never noticed it in my taco searches, never heard of it, & it looked/felt newish. the employee working was new lol. she was nice and made sure she had my order exact, i appreciated it because getting onions when you hate onions is a day ruiner.they've got all the authentic usuals tacos, burritos, horchato, canned guava nectar and also chicken fingers and fries? i didn't read enough to see if that's a regular item or special. it was clean inside! lots of tables to sit and eat at although this is more of a quick grab, lunch, to-go place, imo. there's a few other businesses in the plaza, plenty of parking right in front of the door. i ordered two carne asada with cilantro & cheese they were good!.. you can add cheese, tomato, lettuce, and sour cream for .50 each. my total was just under $8. food was quickly prepared & fresh."
"Still on my search for good chicken enchiladas, I passed this place after a meeting in the area. The ambiance began at the entrance and continued through this large restaurant. We were promptly greeted and seated, chips and salsa arrived within minutes of being seated. We had just missed the brunch window but once I saw the Quesabirria on the menu I forgot all about the enchiladas They were absolutely delicious! Perfectly cooked! The decor is very colorful and bright. There's a large dining area, a bar area with seating a stage and a cozy patio area. Great place for any festive occasion."
"A great place for Mexican food! A wonderful atmosphere with very friendly service. They made my dad and I feel right at home. The tamales were excellent and my dad said the chili rellanos were amazing too. Very clean and accommodating. Will be back for sure"
"I come here all the time when I'm in the area! The customer service is always amazing and the food is consistently good. Once you place your order you'll have your food in about 5mins :) Love this small business and will continue to support."
"Stopped by this taco truck late last night and was glad I did. The food was fresh, hot and delicious. The man at the window was helpful and friendly. I would suggest getting the carne asada tacos or the soft meat tacos, both were delicious. The food was prepared fast and in the time it took to get back to my house the food was still hot. I noticed that they stay open later than most restaurants, that is definitely a plus in my book! Will be back for sure!"
"I have had their fish (whiting), wings and fry combo. It absolutely hits the spot. There wings are fried all the way through, the seasoning is balanced. The fries are incredible! Quick, easy meal when you're short on time and still want to have a 'home cooked' vs fast food meal. The prices are great. Good value for the money. I'm trying their gyro for the first time! Can't wait!"
"Tried Carnitas El Tarasco for lunch on Sunday. I love their food! The meat has an amazing flavor and tenderness. I also appreciated how their menu had unique food items that I don't see at other Mexican restaurants in Indy. Their carne asada tacos, guac, and Torta Ahogada (I've only seen this at one other place in Indy) tasted amazing. Definitely coming back for more food! Highly recommend this place for authentic and delicious Mexican Food!"
"I love having an authentic taco truck on our way home from my teen's track practice. My daughter usually gets the chicken quesadilla, with lettuce and cheese and splits a couple of order of tacos with me. One order consists of two, the Chorizo and Asada are our go to, with cilantro, onions, and your sauce of choice on the side. Breaking from tradition, I ordered a Tlacoyos. It can best be described like a tostada, yet not as thin, and more light and fluffy. The perfect foundation topped refried beans, nopales, tomatoes, onions, crumbled cotija cheese & cilanto. I must say, I think I've found my new favorite dish. Its filling without sending you into a coma, and a great vegetarian option. A line formed behind us, and we waited patiently as our orders were made. Honestly, I prefer not having a basket of chips in front of me while waiting for my order. I feel more in control with a take out, without the pressure to order sugary cocktails. In the end, my waistline thanks me. Our order was delivered to our car steaming hot. With her athletic schedule releasing from 6 - 9 pm in season, any night I get to skip cooking and dishes is alright with me."
"Drinks are strong, food is good, but smokey.Lots of sports. 7 TV's and a projection.Cool place get the tacos."
"This is the ABSOLUTE best for Birria Tacos!!! I am craving them now but they are only open on Fridays and Saturdays! The steak is amazing and the consume' is out of this world! Customer service is amazing!"
"First of all don't pull in the front and think they are closed like we did. The entrance is on the left side of the building. As we walked in we were seated right away and we had a really good server who was very polite and checked on us frequently. We all ordered diet cokes which came out in cans and he did bring cup with ice. We ordered a couple appetizers one being chips and queso. The other being their sampler, both of which were very good. Don't compare this to a Mexican restaurant because it is much different and don't expect chips and salsa to be dropped off at the table because they don't appear to have salsa. We each ordered and our meals came out fairly quick. Two of us ordered the chicken, one a quesadilla, and I got the carne asada. All of our meals were very good and my wife and I tried each others and agreed how good they were. Price wise for four of us it was around $100 including the 15% they already added as a tip. We added an additional $10 because our service was really good. The restaurant itself was very clean and there was music playing but not overly loud where you couldn't hear each other talk. This was our first time here and we would go again. I never thought to take any photos or I would have posted them."
"This my first time coming here the food was OK I got the gyro burger and fries and steak tacos the state tacos were not all that good but I like the Gyro burger It is a little bit overpriced as well"
