"Carmel does a really nice job of offering up venues and events to get people out of the house. The rink was busy today and a bit crowded. Despite the 20 degree weather and freezing drizzle. Everyone was having fun and I didn't see anyone fall while we were here. The Christmas market that surrounds the ice rink was already put away, but a few vendors were still set up selling hot drinks and light snacks. We decided to go inside for drinks to get out of the drizzle."
"This park has a very accessible location, lots of parking, and some amenities that aren't as common at the area parks: a full aquatic center and an ice rink. There are ball fields, tennis courts, basketball, shelter, playground and plenty of room to hike around. However, from recent news that persistent ice troubles forced the rink to close during the youth hockey league, the park must do lots of work to have the rink repaired by fall of 2018. As the last park ice rink in the city, this was very disruptive. So, I applaud that the park is trying to fix the problem...I just hope it has better luck than with Ellenberger Park.Review #687"
"I had a great time here! Me and some friends came for a $10 special (shoes, skating and unlimited pizza & drinks) and it was lit. I LOVE skating and this roller rink was perfect. The DJ was on point!!! There were LOTS of little kids and it was a little crowded for some of the songs but totally fun. I skated for an hour straight and had a blast. The pizza was good, nothing too amazing but it didn't take like cardboard. I loved our experience here - it was exactly what we expected. It was easy to park and there were arcade games. The wood was a little rough to skate on but I managed."
"Everything was awesome! Great, friendly staff and had a fun Friday night with some friends. The only problem was this lady (non staff) who was screaming because her daughter (teenager) got ran into. Smh."
"We came here because my daughters dance coach hosted a skating party for the girls.I'll be honest we were off to a rocky start because of the young lady checking people in. Even though one of my daughters was on the team she did not want to skate. The lady said it was $3 to enter so I was thinking my total would be about $8 at the most with tax. Well apparently if you are under the age of 18 whether you are skating or not you HAVE to pay a skating fee. Luckily for me (or them) not too sure yet (lol) we just used her paid for slot for her to get in.My youngest daughter had a GREAT time and loved when Malifiscent came out! It was such a surprise because we were not expecting it. Whomever played her stayed in character the entire time and even passed out goody bags. It was cute because she used her staff and glared at the kids while delivering them. Needless to say my 5 year old was in heaven.Whomever the skating referee (not sure their actual title name) was on duty that night was amazing!!! My 5 yr old was terrified to skate, but didn't want me out there. Everytime she came around to the space where there wasn't a wall; he always showed up, took her hand and would either take her to the middle or back to the other side so she could hold the wall. It was thoughtful and such a nice gesture im not even sure he knew the impact he was making."
"Pretty cool spot, kid friendly. Fairly good food options. I wish they were open more days of the week."
"We were visiting friends in this area and read they have disco skating g on Friday. It was the perfect thing to do for 6 busy kids! There were first timers skating with stacked buckets, ( never seen that before?!), and families. There's music playing, dark and lights sparkling. It was open from 3:30-5:30pm. It was a blast!"
"I have a friend who plays rec hockey and I wanted to come up and check it out, this is a nice location, it appears clean and maintained! I was able to grab a seat in the stands for a bit before her family showed up, and then I moved to the lobby area, I was also hungry so I decided to get a pretzel with cheese, it hit the spot! Would come back if I had the chance!"
"Nice rink. Two dollar Tuesdays are great. Good music. 4 quarter lockers are highway robbery. Overall a big win for big kids and regular kids too."

Okay so have you heard of the hunger games? Essentially that is this ice skating rink. You wish your group "may the odds be ever in your favor" and attempt to skate through the chaos. There is no ref, no rules and just crazy. Kids as little as 4 are let loose on the ice with no parents. They'll go the opposite direction of the skating flow, fall on purpose, or just create chaos. So first you dodge the unaccompanied minors. Then you have the group of kids, teens or random adults, that decide to make a chain holding arms that expand the entire width of rink so you either run into them or have to dodge. Once again no one to say "hey only link up two". Then you have the influencers that will block an entire area to have a girls boyfriend take a photo of her trying to magically skate. Of course you want to be nice and not run through their video but yeah that doesn't happen. So it's a cool place, but they allow too many people on the rink at once, they have no supervision or rules to be enforced and it's just scary ha. Oh and then I almost forgot there are some kids that appear to know how to skate and for some reason play like speed tag--dear god. Just trying to skate laps and you have these like 13 year olds darting through everyone chasing one another. It's awful that when you finish skating the first thing you say is "WE MADE IT!". So if you're looking for a magical experience skating amongst the Christmas market...you'll have it for about 40 seconds until you see the chaos be fold in front of you...May the odds be ever in your favor.

For the past few weeks, my son has been receiving ice skating lessons at Perry Park Ice Rink through Sycamore Ice Skating Club. The staff have all been very friendly and helpful with him. He is usually a very shy child but the staff has done such an awesome job of welcoming him that we have not experienced that during his lessons. The program runs smoothly and is well managed. The ice rink is clean and well taken care of. I love all of the positive signs that are posted reminding parents that sports should be fun and promoting a kind, encouraging atmosphere. I appreciate the heated seating outside of the ice that allows parents to be comfortable while watching their child skate. The concessions are very affordably priced. Is there anything better than $2.00 nachos? I think not! Concession and skate rental staff have always been very friendly and courteous.

Took my boys (7 and 12) here per my oldest's bday request. Had never been but we were so happy we came. Opened at noon, got there at 12:30 and it wasn't very crowded at all which was really nice for us. Had to wait like 10 mins for someone to help us at skate rentals but that was really the only hiccup. Got skate mates for my kids which they used and by the end did not need anymore. Music during the time we went was kid friendly and energetic. I brought my rollerblades bc I don't roller skate and my inner 90s preteen self was in heaven. It was sooooooo fun. The whole vibe was great and fun. Ordered garlic bread, souvenir cups (free refills day of purchase) and a slice of pizza. Not bad prices. Best part was when Bluey came out for about three songs. We took a pic. Birthday activity was a hit with both parent and kids

Hidden Gem ! This is a great place to bring your kids to have fun. We went on a Sunday around 2pm. Admission is $8-10 for for everyone 2 and over. You get 2 free slices of pizza with admission. Skate rental is $4 dollars. They even have a small arcade area. Now the prizes are a little ridiculous but it was still fun. It's cheaper to just play games that you can win a game. Very clean and everyone one was help and pleasant. This would be a great place for a kids birthday. Can't wait to go back.

A large sized ice skating rink. We came here to watch the Winter Club perform and then got to skate for a bit after. The staff were alright but not super friendly. I'm not a skater so I just watched and everyone seemed to respect each other's space.

Carmel Ice Skadium has two rinks which I've never seen before. But I understand why since there are many hockey players practicing here after public skating closes. And it is obviously home to many talented figure skaters and their coaches. The granddaughter had her 11th birthday this week and wanted to go ice skating.By coming on a Wednesday there was no crowd at all. The snack bar adequately fulfilled both kids' hunger pains. Their rental skates were in good condition and looked fairly new. Seating was marked out for distancing and signage was posted. Everyone was wearing their masks both on and off the ice.Rink #1 has bleachers running the full length of one side so there is always a place to sit and observe. There are rental lockers available as well. The ice was in good condition and well maintained. I did not check out the arcade.

"You get what you pay for. Old run down building that someone is trying to resurrect on a shoestring budget. It may be okay for new skaters, but when my kids got older and more experienced...they would rather NOT skate than go here. They have a small room for birthdays and sell some snacks. Its not dirty...just falling apart. The rink itself is small."
"This place has been around forever and it shows. But just like Mug n bun, Mrs Curls, Steer Inn it's all part of the charm. Wood paneling? Check. Disco ball? Check. All the things that scream 1970s are here and why not. Good clean cheap fun, little bit campy but everyone enjoyed themselves. Weekday prices a steal open skating available two thumbs up for FSC!"
"Stopped by Sunday around 6pm and it was pretty busy but not so busy we couldn't enjoy ourselves! Lecker (delicious) food and drinks everywhere and lots of shops to choose Christmas gifts from - we had a great time and can't wait to come back next year! Side note: if you're not familiar with the area in general, a lot of the items being sold (including food and beverage) can be pretty pricey so keep that in mind when planning to visit!"
"The best place to hit some baseballs in Indianapolis. I'm in town here since I was a young man. Now I'm bringing my son! The hours are a little bit kooky so you'll have to call or plan ahead so you know."
"Love the Indiana State Fair. The midway for rides, free stage for music, games, vendors, fun fun fun food! The Dairy Barn is our favorite for food and milkshakes. We also like looking at the 4-H projects. This year we went twice. It's a good savings if you buy your tickets early. But, if you don't, there are still savings nights along the way - we went on $3 rides, admission, and food night for our second night. Parking has been easier going to the north end of the fairgrounds. This year that was a 20+minute experience. Perhaps the 38th street south entrance is now the best???"
"The gentlemen working were super awesome. The last ice rink I went to (in Carmel) was not great at all so I have to give these employees props where they are due. They were super friendly and patient. One guy even anticipated my needs had had the next size up in skates ready for me when I came back to get ta bigger size of my kid. There was an instructor who was helping my son because it was his first time I've skating. Cosmic skate was pretty awesome. We'll definitely be back. *I do wish there was better food to purchase."
"The Avon Park Ice Rink in Washington Township Park was a blast last night. We went to the Bumper Cars and Brew - 21 Plus Event. The tickets included one draft beer, 2 hrs. of Bumper Cars and a cupcake as we left. You could buy additional beers if wanted. Hubby had two Sun King Octoberfest while I had Hot Chocolate and two chocolate chip cookies right from the oven.It was difficult at first to know where to check in but after walking around for a couple minutes it was clear. The lines were long for the Bumper Cars but it moved quickly. We had the opportunity to go several times throughout the night. The food truck, A Small Town Throw Down, folks were super friendly. They offered food and hot chocolate and more.I posted the hours but I didn't see what days they have ice skating vs. Bumper Cars. You'll need to call. The Ice Rink is in Washington Township Park. It's a gorgeous park with many recreational opportunties. The park is 160 acres plus a preserved wooded area and a great deal of open green space. This park has so many incredible amenities. There is a 24 foot Gazebo, two playgrounds, a sand volleyball court, horseshoe pits, a basketball court, a splash pad, 4 covered picnic facilities, and an outdoor fitness station. If that's not enough to get your interest then let's talk about these amenities. The Pavilion Center is where the office is. It is also an Event Center that can be used for indoor weddings/events, a Paw Park with 3 separate fenced in areas for all size of dogs. 5 plus miles of trails and of course the historic 1876 Whipple Iron Truss Bridge. Lots of activities for any ages. It can be a quite sanctuary or a space to be very active. Stop by this gorgeous park and find your favorite activity and don't forget the Bumper Cars."

Everything from slushies, to fries, to chicken, to pizza, to nachos!Overall, a great place to hang out for the afternoon/evening with your friends and family!"
"Small town local ice rink that serves as a venue for the Columbus Icemen youth hockey team...It's small with bleacher seating (think 4 steps of wooden benches), but still cozy as it can get for a FREE ADMISSION hockey game. The events hosted here are also ice shows and open skate for small pricing. Friendly staff, tasty popcorn, so bring your jacket and mittens and come on by!"
"Large floor, great prices for admittance, snacks, and skate rental if you need to rent skates. Came on $2 Tuesday and there was a good mixed crowd. Some kids on the skate mates stumbling around but not too many where you can't skate easily. Floor was easy to navigate even with all the kids. Had a great time, looking forward to checking out an 18+ skate session sometime!"
"This skating rink may not be well known to many like myself who moved to the area. It's a Gem! We have now been multiple times. We also now rent it out for the kids for their birthdays parties if they request to do so. The staff at this skating rink are awesome. They are pleasant to talk with and help for parties. This is a great location to free skate during the week or weekends with Inline skates or rent their roller skates if you don't own a pair. If you choose to host a party or get together of any sort they are a great and fun location for all ages. They have different options and pricing depending on what your looking for. I forgot to take pictures but they also have some arcade games also, and seating if your hungry and just need a break for a snack and drink. Decent size rink - I do however with they had a bigger parking area for the country folks with big SUVs and trucks when you come as groups :)...... But really no issues or complaints."
"This is a nice but small skating ring. We came on a Sunday and to get in and rent skates it was $11 which I found a bit expensive. But we did come here on a whim and there are deals online like the one on yelp I just saw. The place has a fairly clean feel but there is just trash from the clients cups, napkins, spills all over the place. I wish that instead of the employees talking behind the counter they did a quick clean up check every 30 min or so. They do have trash cans but the kids just toss their water cups on the floor. Locker rental is 50 cents and they have these little walker things for small kids to hold onto while skating. Again this is a fairly small rink but gets the job done. Has a nice little snack bar. Vending machine w waters and Gatorade and a vending area w ice cream. If you come here make sure to scout Yelp or Groupon for coupons. And do not let your kids skate w their phones because if they fall yes they will break. That is my public service announcement."
