Katie S. "Had a lovely dinner here! Love the cozy moody ambiance, giving haunted mansion vibes. The cocktails are very good; ordered the old fashion twice (one of the best I've had)! For appetizers, we had the baked Brie and the lobster cocktail - both were very yummy (although I would suggest a softer bread). Ordered the center cut filet for dinner and was really good quality beef - perfectly cooked and seasoned. For sides, we had the broccolini and drunken mushrooms. The whole meal was a real treat! Would definitely come back! Wonderful for a romantic dinner with loved ones."

The Coterie

Sara W. "My review is a little overdue as I was here in April of 2022. I chose The Coterie online because they had a Beyond burger on the menu, and the person I dined with didn't want to eat at the other places I found with vegan options. This was a bit of a dive bar more than a restaurant, which was fine, but it wasn't quite what I was expecting for a birthday meal. It'd be a cool place to visit on a date or with friends on a weekend though. The Beyond burger was good. I just didn't realize it came with cheese, as I didn't see that on the menu, and asked for it without. I also left off the aioli and asked for mustard. A little strange to me that a Beyond burger would come with dairy. Server didn't understand my request exactly. It seemed a little overpriced at the time, but now in 2023, it costs the same as going to BK but tastes much better. (Dang inflation is killing me.) Food in baskets. Nothing fancy. Pretty good fries. I can't remember the name of it now, but I had a beer from NW Indiana which I chose just because it was from "Da Region." Decent selection of draft beers as I recall with several from different parts of the state. My dining companion had a Moscow Mule but didn't really care for how it was made. The ambience and decor were interesting. I especially liked the neon state of Indiana which changed colors. The bar glasses and plastic water cups had far out there and funny sayings on them. I remember the restroom being small and having a line. I believe they had a whiskey bar upstairs which I did not check out. In a pretty convenient location in downtown Kokomo. Easy walk to street parking and other establishments. I don't mind divey. It wasn't bad. It just didn't particularly stand out as a favorite. I might return at some point for the beer and the sandwich as well as the sign. I'd rather sit at the bar next time instead of the tall table we had. They had a long booth toward the front underneath the Indiana sign as well."

Sydnie C. "As I sit here enjoying my leftover Alfredo Turkey Leg (it's that big) and reading other reviews--I think to myself: do they enjoy frozen pre-made cuisine from chain restaurants or do they not know that real, southern style quality comfort food takes a little time! We stepped into this establishment for my husband's birthday, with a reservation for our party of 7 were seated promptly and kindly by Ray and treated like FAMILY. It was happy hour (until 8PM!!!) so all drinks & apps were half off and we ordered it all. Henny glazed wings () & shrimp, chicken street tacos, salmon bites, the huge shareable cocktails + frozen daiquiris, tequila shots, spiked vodka lemonade (). Highly satisfied 10/10 and we were just getting started. For our entrees we ordered: the steak with Mac & cheese and seasoned fries for my husband (), I had the Alfredo Turkey leg () and that Alfredo sauce had a perfect Parmesan + slighty seasoned fresh taste that was giving well trained chef/"what is a can?" energy. Our friends got the lamb chops with dirty rice (dirty rice is the only thing that could use more flavor) + a Caesar salad. And someone else got the Surf & Turk a seafood stuffed & smothered Turkey leg (). Even our friend that is notorious for complaining could not complain! It was all so good. Finally we enjoyed banana pudding that was out of this world and I don't even like banana pudding like that. And cheesecakes. All around this place is fire, I will recommend to anyone I meet and we can't wait to come back for brunch. I read the other reviews about food being slow, but if you can't spend the $$$ on the amazing drinks and apps while you wait for the best lamb chops in the Tri-state (bar The Capitol Grille) then just say that. If your date is not providing the stimulating conversation needed to sustain you until the meal comes out, don't blame Bugatti's my baby!"

Twenty

Twenty

Richard P. "Twenty is a restaurant located inside Wabash, Indiana's Charley Creek Inn, a 1920's historic landmark restored to all its wonder and glory and now existing as a hotel, restaurant, and with multiple other features in the downtown area of Wabash. Twenty is a mostly brunch/dinner establishment. It leans toward finer dining, however, definitely also maintains a smalltown vibe. The cuisine is definitely finer than you might expect in a smaller town - Wabash isn't really that small with a population of 10,000+. Twenty has the same historic aura as the Charley Creek Inn with period decor that leans into comfortably cultured. The menu consists of brunch, small plates, salads, soups, handhelds, finer entrees, an extensive wine menu, and much more. There's also a fairly strong dessert menu. The party I was with included respected local residents and Twenty seems ideal for both family gatherings and businesses lunches. There's a hint of pretentious in the air, though the smalltown vibe keeps it from becoming suffocating. I enjoyed this experience quite a bit. Our server, whose name I never got, was friendly and helpful throughout (and professional even when becoming a tad concerned about one party member who may have had just a wee bit too much wine). Discretion was on the menu and respect was offered throughout. I ordered fish and chips, not exactly fine dining but what I was in the mood for after a long day on nearby trails. While not the best I've had, it was quite good and I would easily order it again. Iced tea refills flowed freely and the atmosphere was both comfortable and dignified and allowed for conversation despite a steady buzz of noise. Pricing is consistent for a modestly finer dining experience, though one could easily transition into fine dining here if ordering steaks, salmon, and wine. I could easily see this being a fancy date night. For the most part, things are accessible here - I did not visit the restroom. Wabash experienced some significant funding from a grant and included extensive accessibility upgrades in its downtown improvements. It shows. Twenty does offer lunch specials and also a children's menu. I would advise checking its website for the full menu and hours. I was originally scheduled to stay at Charley Creek, however, this historic hotel didn't have an accessible room at the time (I appreciated their honesty) and I stayed at another nearby hotel option. I'm glad I at least got to have dinner here and would love to return in the future."

Scott N. "We love Metropole! We stayed at 21C for a week last year for my birthday. We ate at Metropole once. We revisited this past Monday for dinner before a show. I love the ambiance of Metropole. It's comfortable and low-key, yet still quite fancy. I do love that the dress code is 'casual'. That said, there were some folks there dressed to the nines.Last year I remember the Crispy Deviled Eggs and Tuna Tartar. The deviled eggs are outstanding. I'm sorry we didn't get them again. We did, however, order the Tuna Tartar, which is a little flavor bomb! One of the best bites of the night. We did order oysters with raspberry cocktail sauce. It was a special and it certainly sounded delicious. They didn't hit the mark for us. The sauce was good, but the oysters were the slightest bit sandy and tasted more of the ocean than I'd prefer. I considered giving four stars just because of this dish, but everything else about Metropole is truly great.I started with a Hocus Pocus cocktail, which included a house made curry syrup. The last ingredient on the menu is "magic". This cocktail is truly magical. The flavors are difficult to explain. Suffice to say, it's unlike any cocktail any of us have ever tasted before. For dinner we ordered the Herb Brined Chicken and the Black Hawk Smash Burger. The chicken was fantastic. The chicken itself was moist and flavorful. The burnt carrot risotto was cooked to perfection. Everything else on the plate combined with the chicken was extraordinary. It was SO good! And... it was a LOT of food. Much as I tried, I still left a bit of the risotto behind.Mark thoroughly enjoyed his burger. He raved about everything, including the bun, which was apparently soft and actually had flavor that supported the burger itself. I can attest the fries were great because I stole a few from his plate. On to dessert. Last time we were here they had a corn ice cream that was unique and out of this world. On Monday I had a dip of chocolate and a dip of pumpkin. The ice cream melts exactly how a high end ice cream should. Mark ordered the Mocha Mousse, which as a nice size dessert that was simply delicious. I got a few bites. The mocha flavor was very present and the crunchy crust was fantastic with the more smooshy mousse. I absolutely recommend the Mocha Mousse dessert. Our waitress was kind and attentive with the perfect amount of attention for our dining needs. There are so many things we haven't tried, we will have to come back again and again."

I do like that the bar is kinda raised where you have to walk up a couple of steps to get to it. It was very crowded and kinda difficult to navigate around due to the small space. There wasn't really any where you could just sit. Your only option was to stand at the bar or stand in a crowd of people. The bathrooms were small, only two stalls and the main door to the bathroom was propped open one of the times I went so anyone could look in. One of the doors to the bathroom didn't have a lock so some refused to use it, which made the wait in line a lot longer. only one sink to wash your hands, so there was a line for the toilet and one for the sink. This wasn't a bad place to be but definitely wasn't one of my favorites."

Yes, the giant lumberjack statue outside might not signal culinary creativity... but maybe it should.Of course, if you want cheap beer, this is your go-to. It also has the classics-burgers, fries, nachos, steaks, and actually, a pretty solid Hoosier pork tenderloin. As I'm sure you've guessed, it isn't fancy, don't expect to eat off of china and linen... but their cook does do some interesting stuff. The aforementioned Greek egg rolls were actually pretty good, an egg roll with ground beef, feta cheese, and spinach. I could have done without the wasabi sauce to go on it though...It's not big on windows, so you could be in there for hours--all day--and have no idea how much time has passed. Is not too far from where I live and it's one of the few clubs on the Northeast side that friends in my age range decide to go. I mean, there's not really many lounges or clubs in the area. Anyway, unless you are attending a specific event at Epic, the crowd on the regular are upper twenties/lower 30s folks who want to "turn up" (party). Epic's crowd is not really you're grown and sexy group, but not completely "ratchet" (distasteful) either. It's sits somewhere in between the two. The club is very small. The space is not really well laid out and not designed to be a club...and if they did, the designers created the space poorly. Overall, I always feel claustrophobic when I come to Epic. There's two VIP areas: one that raises slightly above the dance floor and one on the dance floor. The room between the bar and the VIP on the floor is cramped.I will say on me thing I like about this place is if you are here for the regular weekend party scene, they do sell food with their alcohol. Thus, if you get hungry, you can get chicken wings, mozzarella sticks, or anything else that might be fried. And hey, when you start drinking, eventually you get hungry! Lastly, like a typical club, they do offer bottle service. The last time I went to Epic (Jan 2017), they had started to incorporate a presentation I'd seen in St. Louis where they use sparklers (yes, fireworks) to bring out bottles. I'm not really sure why the Epic staff think this is a great idea in their small venue. When I'd seen this in St. Louis, I was attending an event at a huge club where there was enough space when you saw bottle service coming, one could get out the way. Whereas at Epic, the space is so small that bottle service was struggling to get through the crowd. Yeah, sparkers are usually harmless, but it just seems like a concerning fire hazard."

They also serve burgers, salads, and other pub fare, but I'm always too psyched about eating the pizza to order anything else. DJ Eli is there on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, spinning fun mash-ups of today's hits with yesterday's classics.
