The prices are higher, but the portions are HUGE. You can get regular or family size for most dishes, but even the regular is about 3 meals for me (as a light eater). I found that the menu posted on Yelp is very accurate. They have a selection of Indian and Pakistani foods. You may choose spice levels. Many dishes are vegetarian or vegan. Parking is plentiful in this strip mall which is right off of I-65."

"This is my go to for those Indian food cravings I get!! First off, it comes off as just a simple fast food environment. There isn't very many decorations or Bollywood music playing (in fact, both TVs had ESPN on). However, it's the food that's the star of the show and that's what brings us back time and time again. On this trip we ordered Samosas, Chicken Korma and Butter chicken. Wow, the sauce for both dishes were incredible. We dined in and our food came out in "to go" containers. Not a big deal, if I'm a betting man they're probably going for the "less is more" approach. Again, the flavor is just incredible. If you're passing through Carmel and want some delicious and satisfying Indian food, they got you!!"

"Indian food is my absolute fave. Well, American style Indian food is my favorite. I'm a mild chicken tikka masala, rice and naan gal. Banghan Barta if I'm at Taj Mahal in encino (L.A.) but otherwise chicken tikka masala. If I was stuck on a desert island...with only one food to eat... forever...yadayadayada... Yeah. Indian. This is FABULOUS. Incredible sauce, great naan, shiny rice, heavenly. And the price is fantastic! $15.99 for my chicken, naan AND rice? Sign me up. They also have a buffet - I thought we lost those in the pandemic?! - but I didn't try that. This is the best food I have found in the Indianapolis area so that's a resounding 5 stars from my family! Go get em...,"

"Fantastic experience! Definitely recommend! My cousin was in town and specifically asked me to take her out for Indian food. India Bistro is the highest rated Indian restaurant in this area, so of course, I had to check it out. Heads up: Be sure to go to their actual website to check for hours and see if takeout might be your best option. They have limited staff right now, so their hours are limited and they're limiting dine-in service. I was kinda nervous about this so I almost didn't come, but I'm so glad I gave it a shot. From the moment we walked in, we were treated like family. The mother took our order and I think we were checked on by two of her daughters. I overheard her saying that her husband is the owner/chef/cook. We had the samosas, garlic naan, butter chicken, chicken saag, and a mango lassi. My cousin loved it all and so did I. We ordered everything medium, which was perfect for both of us. Those samosas were probably the best I've ever had. They were seasoned to perfection. Everything else was so delicious. I truly can't wait to return!"

Tried this place on a whelm, and didn't quite know what to order however, the person that I was with did we ordered a variety of different foods just so I could sample them all. the place was empty. However, the DoorDash people were coming in nonstop to pick up to go orders. Our server who is also one of the family members that own the restaurant was fantastic. She made recommendations to us things that she didn't like and the food came out so very quickly!my favorite dish was the butter chicken. It was absolutely amazing. I will definitely be going back ASAP! Oh, and the great thing is although it's in Broadripple parking is free."

"There are no words for how good this place is - but I'm going to try! I went for their lunch buffet on a Sunday afternoon and it was packed - but in a good way. The buffet was $22 per person (or close to that at least). You pay at the counter at the end. We were seated and given a bottle of water and then went up to the buffet. There were three main sections. One which seemed to be predominantly vegetarian, another for desserts, and the last one for meat options. My taste buds! I could cry happy tears with how good everything was. I was in India for a month and got to travel both the north and south and the food at this buffet had some southern Indiana options that you don't often find at Indian restaurants in Indy. I would've taken more picture but I was too busy crying happy tears with how good everything was. Don't think, just go. You won't be disappointed"

"The menu is HUGE and they have so many incredible items I've not seen before from an Indian restaurant. If this was in Cincy we would be eating here regularly. Although I will say it's pricey - $15 for 6 tandoori momos is outrageous, but also they were delicious. The coriander chicken curry was great was very tender chicken. My husband liked the tikka masala but I've had better sauce elsewhere. The mango lassi was amazing and I loved the little Rosewater jelly cubes on top. Garlic naan was tasty. Overall would highly recommend and we will be back again in the future."

"Amazing, hot delicious food! I found India Palace after attending a near by auto auction. I was looking for India Sizzling as I have went to the north side location and had really liked it. To my surprise, it was closed. Luckily India Palace was just a stones throw away!I stopped in the for the lunch buffet on a Thursday afternoon and even though I was the only customer - the food was fresh and pipping hot. Everything had such deep and delicious flavors. The chicken tikka masala was smooth and velvety with chunks of juicy white meat chicken. The pakora was crispy and flavorful. The gulab jamun was warm and sweet. I'm so glad I stopped to have lunch on this side of town. I will definitely stop here every time I'm on the west side!"

"The medium level spice is perfect here. The flavors really pop and I would definitely order from them again. 5 stars - Bhindi Masala. Wow. This was awesome. The okra was sliced and in a masala curry sauce. Typically this dish is a dry stir fry, but the curry sauce was a nice change. 4 stars - Chili garlic gobi. Sweet and spicy. More on the sweet side, but still good. I got this because it reminded me of Gobi Manchurian and it was cooked in a similar fashion. Fried cauliflower tossed in an indo-chinese saucy coating. 4 stars - Veg Mix Curry. Green beans, corn, and cauliflower. I would have liked some potato in this to round it out. Curry flavor wasn't as dominant and more of a mild flavor curry. 4 stars - Naan was more flat than fluffy. That's okay though cause the rice was awesome. Fluffy, fresh, and the grains were almost a shorter grain and was a good compliment to the curries."

Even the ones who ask for "extra spicy" have no idea what spicy is, so Indian/Thai restaurant owners think they are joking and treat their order accordingly.Unless you use the code words: "Indian spicy" or "Thai spicy". The Indian dude behind the counter gave a mischievous smile when I uttered the code words. The lentil dish was yummy with the garlic naan which was nice and fluffy. The butter chicken was good but it I've had better. I say this to mean that the sauce was sweet - I'm used to really deep savory flavor from the spices. From the time we entered to the time we left after a finger licking meal,,,, the experience was a reminder of food as it should be cooked - simple but so flavorful that you aren't going to look around before you lick that last bit off your fingers. The service was quick, the ambiance simple, clean and friendly. You can dine in or pick up to go. We had the goat masala with tandoor roti and a chicken shawarma pita. They also ask you for the spice level - mild, medium, hot. We had the hot, and it was lesser than a Thai level 5, but does make you feel it and we enjoyed that. Will be back for a lot more."

"Keeping it simple, I really enjoyed the flavors of the food I tried. I went with a Combo Special that came with a side of fries and a jumbo drink. I don't know enough about the cuisine here to tell you what kind of meat it had (some lamb blend, I would guess) or what the white sauce was (it was delicious!) All I know is that the kitchen is openly visible and I could see one of the staff shave the thin layers of meat for my meal right after my order. The veggie toppings I had him add were all fresh and tasty (even if the tomato was on the pinkish side). And the base of the gyro (Naan?) was light as a pancake, sturdy enough to be picked up and eaten that way, or tender enough to be easily cut through with the self serve plastic ware.There is a very strange vibe here mixing what could be a very nice dining experience with the inner workings of gas station. The seating is not near the order counter (not even in the line of sight) which makes it weird to sit while waiting for your order to come up. Even when I mentioned it was a "to go" order, I had to ask about napkins/plastics and forgot to get any salt packets for my crispy fries which were basically salt free.If they could work on customer service a bit and make the restaurant part fit together with the seating they could be a five star experience. I previously looked at the menu for this place a year or so ago and they had butter chicken but not my go to, chicken tikka masala, and the closest Indian restaurant is 25 minutes away. So the other day I was looking thru DoorDash I saw that Chicago's finally put chicken tikka masala on the menu and I was so excited! For my entree, I had the chana masala. It was super flavorful and not overly spicy. The rice and naan were delicious too. To feel better about myself, I added the cucumber salad to get some vegetables in. The green sauce on the side was fantastic too.Everything was really reasonably priced and the portion sizes were big. I had enough leftover for lunch the next day and then some."

"Today is July 12th, 2024 and it's the grand opening of Saffron Indian restaurant in Zionsville!! Let me tell you, it's about time!!! We love Indian cuisine and it's finally down the road from our home. So far they don't have alcohol but I'm sure that will change down the road. The food was great!!! We ordered Chicken Korma, Butter Chicken and garlic Nan. We also ordered a coke that was starting to freeze ( kinda nice actually). The Nan was huge and was great for wiping up the delicious curry. The korma was kinda sweet. You could taste hints of raisin in it. The Butter chicken was savory and both dishes soaked up the basmati rice to perfection. They also offer spice levels 1-10, we opted for a 7 but we'll go higher next. I'm definitely returning to Saffron and I wish them all the success for years to come."

"Either this place has changed a lot since all the negative reviews were posted, or those people are just wrong, because Bombay Bazaar was a fantastic experience not only food-wise but also service-wise. Perhaps they have added on the restaurant section or at least expanded it recently, because they have a full dining room and waitstaff that showed none of the negative traits I saw described in other reviews. All the employees we interacted with were very attentive and genuinely interested in making our meal there a good experience, asking multiple times how everything was, chatting, etc. The food was not only excellent but also different from the options available at most Indian restaurants in the area. I think that probably owes to the fact that this place seems more Pakistani than Indian. The wall decor was of Pakistan, the menu is all halal, and they serve beef. Seems pretty Pakistani to me, I'm not a huge expert but those are just some signs on top of the fact that the nihari we ordered is considered a Pakistani national dish according to Google. I was warned as I ordered that the beef nihari is very spicy, but figured I'd be able to handle it. It does pack quite a punch, but it's definitely manageable, nothing crazy. The flavor of this dish was very distinct, the taste of the beef spread throughout the dish and the broth made a great dipping sauce for our naan and rice. I ordered a piece of roti (the one pictured that's not the garlic naan) but it looked just like naan, not sure if theirs just looks different but it definitely had a taste that wasn't the same as naan so I think it's what I got. Not complaining because it was still tasty, just not what I expected.Since my favorite South Asian place, Dhaba Indy, closed down, I've been looking for a good replacement...Biryani Hut just isn't as good, Fresh Indian Grill in Carmel is too far away and too expensive...Bombay Bazaar might just fill the void."
