"Course appears to be pretty well taken care of! The greens were a little slow, seems like they hadn't been cut in a little bit, but we also have not had much rain. It's a fun course to play and the service was great. They had a starter organizing tee times as it was pretty busy on a Saturday morning. For two people with a cart, it was $88, which is relatively affordable for the area and for the condition of the course. The course is mid-range on difficulty. It isn't super wide open, but a few tee shots that make you think. Really enjoyed the course and will definitely be back to play again."
"DON'T PLAY HERE.......Unless your a scratch player or like to be punished! OMG! Not the course for a beginner or high handicaps. Nice grounds but a little pricey compared to other comparable priced courses. I personally will not be back until I'm much better but had a good time. I do not believe they have a single fairway that is straight, not hilly or curved and I believe all are surrounded by a bunker. The bunkers are very deep. You've been warned. Enjoy :-)"
"So this is my first time foot golfing. We had a great time . It is a non for profit. The cool thing is that we got caught in the rain and the lady that works there came and got us . I will definitely be back for sure ."
"Not sure what happened to this golf course but it has gone down hill in just 1 year. The fairways and tee boxes are almost all crabgrass and in some places just as high as the rough. On many holes you can't tell the difference between rough and fairway. The greens are still looking good and roll true, but it's not a $40 course. Will not be back unless I hear things have improved."
"The reason for my three stars is because of a time I played here in 2021. The manager on duty was very rude to me and my friends during a round that got rained out. We had to talk him into giving us a rain credit while only being on the 11th hole. However we are back today and while I'm hating the pin placement (on the edge of greens with hills) I was thrilled that they served breakfast sandwiches!! More courses need to serve breakfast items!"
"Had a Wabash Valley golf card and they took it with no problem. Very friendly staff. Met a bunch of friendly people on the course. Really nice setting. Only drawback, and this is a stretch, is that it does not have a range."
"Serviceable municipal style affair about 15 minutes south of Pendleton. Plays short even from the tips and bombers off the tee may find a chip is all that is left into the green on several holes. Slope rating of 114 from the blues gives a pretty good indication that it isn't a significantly difficult track.Very quiet out here in the sticks and it made for a nice round. Overall appears like a very mature course with large trees lining the fairways. Greens have a decent amount of contour and played slow today...sped up some once the morning dew burned off. Greens were freshly mowed and well kept but the fairways appeared like they hadn't been touched since Thursday or Friday (probably due to amount of rain past few days). Little to no roll out on tee shots and felt like anything in the fairway was hitting from the first cut on any other course. Tee boxes were in good shape. Some interesting holes here too...it isn't just a back and forth affair.Seriously 5 cars in the lot when I rolled up at 730 on a Sunday (!) and pretty sure one was an employee. All carts still had serious amounts of dew on them. I am fairly sure there wasn't anyone else working. Very much a local operation. Attire on the course was anything from traditional to jorts. My playing partner assured me the skill sets vary wildly also.Playing time for us was just over 3 hours with no one ahead of us. Hard to lose a ball here since it is pretty open on most fairways.Pro shop and snack bar were below average and the woman running it was...surly. Breakfast burrito was $3.45 straight from the freezer into the microwave. Overpriced. For a $34 weekend rate I was not expecting a ton. It is what it is and was OK for me. I will likely be back if for nothing else the low rates and proximity to my current location."
"Does the trick for cheap 9 holes walking for me and the pals. $15 to walk 9 on a Saturday morning. Greens are always smooth. T boxes need quit a bit of work. Fairways are decent."
"Might be the best value golf course in Central Indiana! The course has great greens and challenging holes. It is a good balance of open and narrow, so that you are not penalized harshly by being slightly left or right, but sharp hooks and slices will put you in a tough spot. I would definitely recommend and my friend and I have played two weeks in a row!"
"Easily walkable course that is in good condition. The staff is friendly and the fellow golfers are not too serious."
"Many many serious golfers in Indiana will tell you this is their favorite golf course in Indiana. It may be mine as well. Why? It is just beautiful. The course used to be an old country club course located in the valley created as the White River meanders through southern Indiana. As you go south from Indianapolis toward Bloomington and beyond, the typically flat terrain of the state becomes progressively hilly. Martinsville Golf Club has a hilly feel, but also benefits from the serene river valley setting. There is a lot of wildlife, many ancient trees, butterflies, birds, creeks with frogs, all in an area that seems set off and remote from the rest of the world. However, it also retains some of the faded grandeur of its country club past such as a classic clubhouse with a shady porch, vast trees, an uncrowded feel and some huge, holes that haven't been pretified by unecessary artifices. The holes on this course are so distinct, challenging, and memorable that if you play it, like me, at least one of your favorite golf holes on any golf course will be here. Best of all its open to the public and around $25 for 18 (walking)."
"I had a wonderful experience during my golf club fitting at The Academy with Matt Glenn. Matt did a great job and was very professional, I couldn't have asked for a better person to help me. If You are looking for a club fitting, look no further than Matt at The Academy located directly beside Prairie View Golf Club. Thanks Again Matt, I highly recommend You!!!"

Played after heavy rain but the course held up well. Nice open course. Small but well kept greens.

Course is in great shape. Practice facilities provide great warm up or a nice practice session. Pro shop is friendly and helpful. Course is not for the faint of heart but is a fun challenge. Lots of bunkers guard most greens and tall, thick fescue will penalize you if missing fairway. Rates are very reasonable for a course of this caliber and challenge.

First time going foot golfing. I brought my wife and three children and had a great time. I will definitely come back and am considering bringing the girl's soccer team I coach. Mark was very helpful and is the pastor of the church that owns the property. It's nice to see a church turn a previous golf course into something for the community to come enjoy. We need more places like this around Indianapolis. Inexpensive, Fun, & Great people!

Great little gem in Greenfield Indiana. Not long but challenging when your not stroking it your best. This was one our go to courses we are playing during the pandemic. Fees are fair and the beer is cold. Right off of US 40 close to town, restaurants and gas stations. Assigning 1 golfer to each cart, no touch flag sticks in play, sand rakes and divot fillers have been removed.

I guess reviewing a golf course (or anything else for that matter) depends where you are in life. In my case as an "every third weekend, middling handicapper", with an appreciation and eye for etiquette/dress/pace of play, this course fits the bill and is typically a good outing. Low handicappers or golfers who typically shell out $75 or more per round in the Indy area may be disappointed.I would probably be at 3.5 stars for the championship course and round up since there is a nice little par 3 and a good range facility.I would consider Stony Creek my home course and have probably played here 25 times or so over the years. The championship course plays right around 5800 from the whites and around 6300 to 6600 from blues and gold. There are also red and silver tees farther forward. As someone who can drive the ball OK (265-280), the white tees feel short and I usually play from the blues. The course is pretty well maintained; tee boxes, fairways, and greens are generally in good repair. Later into August things can dry up a bit and the tee boxes start to show wear. I find the greens to be slightly larger, roll slower, and are mostly vanilla in contouring. Some greens are very cool and I look forward to hitting into (1, 5, 12, 13, 18) but a lot are flat as a board (3, 4, 11, 14 thru 17). 15 thru 17 sit very low to the creek and if the course is wet it will be cart path only. Mosquitoes may carry you away on 16 thru 18 when in season - a can of bug spray is recommended during these times. The majority of holes are interesting...there are some good elevation changes and use of swails and hills. (My favorite on the course is 13 - a wooded uphill par 4 to a severely sloped back to front green). There are enough trees on the course to provide for a pretty good idea of where to hit if you've never played here. There are a few fairways which run in parallel and you may find people hitting out of yours (12, 13, and 14 specifically). There are some very short par 4s here as well (4, 5, 12, 14). 18 is a weird uphill par 5 finisher that requires a hybrid or long iron off the tee and you won't reach in 2.Sand never really comes into play (for me at least) at Stony Creek - most of the traps are far enough away from the green to not be in play unless your shot is errant. Water is present on the course, not plentiful...but you can easily find yourself in a creek (or the pond at 9).My son and I like playing the 9 hole par 3 together which goes around the range. It is not maintained with the same care as the 18 hole but is not neglected either. Some of the holes are very short (~80 yards) and most of the greens are pretty straightforward. It's a good place to work on the wedges and short irons and there are worse ways to spend an hour and a half with your kid.The range is nice with ample tee boxes, a self service outdoor ball machine (tokens inside), a smallish putting green and a decent chipping green with a bunker.Rates on the weekend are around $45 with a cart...maybe a bit much but there are twilight and weekday rates to bring that number down if that is too much. Have never really had an issue with pace of play. Overall this is a nice neighborhood facility and a good place to get a round in.

This is a nice little course for the money. It was $30 to ride on a Friday at noon. All the greens were in good shape. Long hitters won't love this course, but the average golfer will find it as a value.

Well manicured course. Fun to play, although a little short. Greens were VERY soft when I played yesterday. I was fixing ball marks every hole. Best hot dogs at the turn!!

"Today was our first time here and we loved it. Super laid back course for a great price. We paid $50 for 18 holes and a cart for 2 people. The patrons there were all so easy going. Greens were pretty slow but fairways were nice and big. We will definitely be back here soon."
"This is my go-to range in the area. The staff is always super friendly and the place is pretty cheap! $5 for a bucket of balls could last me 45-60 minutes. My only complaint is that the entire facility is pretty dated, everything's a bit weather-worn. Other than that, this is great spot to do some driving or just to shake some rust off!"
"Great experience. Brand new simulators. Great equipment. Plenty of room to move about. We had a large crew for a birthday party and it was an absolute blast. Thanks so much for facilitating our celebration Eagle Two!"
"Really nice course, especially at sunset. Carts are all in great condition. Good deal on summer evenings, tee time prices are slightly cheaper."
"Great facility. Great prices for driving range and they also have putting greens and chipping range. This place gets packed especially on the weekends however they do have many spots available at the range. They even have lawn chairs for the wives who might not want to stand while waiting for their husband to finish up practice :)"
"For full transparency this is my home club and my 5 star rating for golf courses is for Pine Valleys Pinehursts and other type courses I've played. That being said this course is such a great value. It's in great condition and the staff is the best. They are friendly and accommodating to the customers. It's not the longest course you will play but it tests your game to the fullest. Great greens, fairways, tees and rough. Sand bunkers are ok but well maintained. Reasonable foot and beverage choices at good prices. Like I said before - best golf value in Hamilton County. Enjoy the round."
"Wow. I wasn't expecting this to be as fun as it was. Definitely have to go with the right group and have a good DJ. My group checked all the boxes. We started early on a Saturday...around noon. We were celebrating birthdays, but it was also prom. I thought it was too early to start drinking, but we quickly adapted. Our driver, Marcus, was very cool and helped us get amped up to PEDAL! We took a mini tour of the city and made a couple stops including the circle. We opted for the first class package which includes 3 drinks, our own table back at the Hangar, and a discount on food. The only negative were the drink options included. They were great if you are a beer drinker. I chose from the mom waters and they were nasty. Luckily, I brought my own drink. The food at the Hangar was pretty good. I chose a chicken quesadilla, but they also had wings, pizza, and nachos. A golf simulator is also included will you chill, eat, and sip. The entire staff was friendly. Good times were had."
"Cascades golf course is a beautiful place to golf. The course has new fairways, a great staff, and a beautiful clubhouse. Cascades is the place to go for golf in Bloomington and I would highly recommend this place for all skill level golfers."
"West Chase Golf Club and Events has a great 18 hole golf course with Clubhouse, pro shop and Lounge. A Pavilion that seat 250 for Weddings, reception, fundraisers, conferences, etc. Call 317-892-7888 for tee times or to book your event."
"What a fun course in Shelbyville - we were first ones off tee - had a great time and course was in good shape considering all the rain!"
"Four stars for the value! Just $10 for seniors to walk 18 holes. You can't beat that deal! The course is in great shape too. Lots of hills, valleys, and trees on this short course. The par 3 third hole is one of the toughest around. The staff is friendly and The Curve restaurant attached has really good food."
"Can I tell you the first 9 holes of this course make it in my opinion the best golf course I have played in Indiana. Overall, the back 9 loses some sparkle, but makes up for it with an island green Par 3 a la TPC at Sawgrass, and a vast Par 5 18th that literally swallows you up with vastness and terrain. This course was designed by Tim Liddy, protege of Pete Dye, the famous golf course designer from Indiana (who designed TPC at Sawgrass). This course has everything: vast park type holes, classic meandering links holes, clever Par 3's, challenging holes that force the player over water, uphill, and over chasms, and just some nearly perfect par 5's that seem to swallow you up and hide you away from the world. Did I mention the green fees are very reasonable too? Despite the somewhat remote location, around 40 miles south of Indianapolis, this course is worth the trip. Try it for yourself."
"Thank goodness there is a place for beginner golfers! It's not a fancy golf course but very practical for the budget golfer. Wider fairways ... The Morses are instructors, and they usually run a very inexpensive small clinic class in the spring for beginners. They have a new clinic building. The course gets high traffic but maintained. Typical beginners miss their responsibilities in course maintenance etc... Members are overall nice."
"Nice little track, that is fun to play, I plan on going back soon. New owners,so I expect great things in the future."
"Fun golf outing with hubby. I am not a golfer by any means though I do have a cute purple and gray set of clubs he bought me. I am getting better lol and had some great shot but not consistent. Nice course though you better reserve your tee times bc it can get congested. Hubby says the back 9 are crisper than the front. He also says the cost is great. For the 2 of us to play 9 holes with a cart is only $28"
"GUYS- If you check in on the Yelp app here, you get a free large bucket of balls for the driving range! That's one of the best check-in offers I've found. So awesome.I loved how simple this place was. There's a huge parking lot right outside the door. We walked in, got our bucket of balls, and were out on the driving range in about two minutes. It wasn't too crowded, but there were a decent amount of people there. We went on a Monday evening and it was beautiful because the sun was setting while we hit the balls into the orange-y sky. The man working the counter was kind as well. The place also has a snack bar and the popcorn smelled yummy."
"I can't say anything other than WOW! Great course and the conditions are awesome. The greens are well manicured and roll true (a bit slower than expected though). You get to play 4 holes inside the Indy Motor Speedway. SWEET! There were cars racing around all day and the drone of their engines was intoxicating. We played twice in 4 days. Once in a scramble (they run a great event) and once on our own. Both experiences were great. If you come to Indy, love golf and don't play here you are missing out."
"This par 3 course is so much fun. If you didn't know about it, you'd never know it was there! Tiny little walking course to practice your short game. It also has a driving range to practice. Staff is so friendly and helpful. Prices are fantastic, $30 for 18 holes for two people including pull cart rental. We can't wait to go back!"
"Until now, I had no idea that Top Golf competitor had open in Indy- apparently they opened in 2022. How did I miss that? This is such good news to me, as I like Top Golf but Fishers is not the most convenient location for me. Now, Back 9 is a few minute drive from downtown and I just love it. I went here for a company holiday event, and had a lot of fun despiste my poor golf skills. It was cold outside, yet they had powerful heaters on the ceiling so I was okay without my jacket. The food unfortunately got cold very quickly. Our server was so attentive and quick.Overall great hang out spot in central location."
"I have attended two luncheons at Purgatory and it is a great venue that can accommodate large crowds for a sit down meal, though it can be a tight squeeze if it's a few hundred people. During both occasions, there was a buffet-style meal which did slow things down a bit but I was impressed with the efficiency and organization. Beyond that, Purgatory is a popular wedding venue with its lodge vibes and a wonderful golf course - so picturesque! Purgatory is just north of the heart of Noblesville off IN-37. Just a stone's throw away is Strawtown Koteewi Park with guided horseback riding, archery range, zip line course and tubing hill."
"Honestly, Deer Creek is one of my favorite golf course on the west side of Indy! The course offers a challenging 18 holes for a cheap price of $25 a round including a cart! The club house pro is knowledgeable and friendly. The course has a putting green, chipping green as well as a driving range with $4 buckets of balls. The course is very well kept nearly year round you'll find that each hole is different and presents a new hazard to avoid! Be aware that there are many holes that contain water so you may want to bring an extra sleeve of balls for this one! Between the dog legs left and right as well as the peninsula greens you'll find yourself itching to see what surprises the next hole has in store. If you've never played here it's worth the few hours it'll take to complete this course!"
"Narrow course but in really good condition! Lots of trees and some creeks that go across fairways-but it balances by being a shorter course. Good selection available at the club house for food and drink. Reasonably priced too!"
"My granddaughter and I decided to play miniature golf here today. The price of admission was only $12 for the two of us, to play as long as wanted. We only played 18 holes since we were headed to other places to have fun. Each hole was numbered (not all courses at other places do that) and there was a specific par for each hole listed on the scorecard. I liked that. I ended up only two over par. There are batting cages available. Although I was tempted to show my 11 yr old granddaughter "how its done," I also could picture myself throwing my arm out in showing off, lol. So I explained verbally as we stood inside one of the cages. There is also a driving range available that was seeing a lot of action and a regular par 3 golf course which must have had several people out on it judging by the number of cars in the parking lot.The miniature golf course was well maintained. Each hole had a stand to use to write down your score on the card. I liked that too. I found this place by doing a Yelp search for mini golf."
