"When a local bakery had to pull out of an event we had scheduled, I scoured the internet for a delicious and festive business to step in. I found A Smudge Sweeter on Instagram, and after admiring all of their beautiful, custom desserts, I sent a message. The owner responded quickly and was able to make 50 cake pops for our party with only a week's notice. Not only did she make cake pops, but they were intricate, incredibly-themed cake pops that brought a lot of fun to our event. The party was right before Thanksgiving, so the cake pops had fun toppers that looked like turkeys, footballs, autumn leaves, etc. They were also delicious, which is sometimes hard to do when they're that beautiful too. You can now order dessert tasting platters from this business, which is definitely the next thing I want to try! Perfect to try out all of their offerings before making a decision on an upcoming gift.... or a fun thing to bring over to a friend's house for a fun night!"

"Anytime we are looking for a special treat - we come to the Confectioneiress in Zionsville for tasty cupcakes. I believe they are under new ownership starting in 2024 - same great cupcakes and my family also love the shooters. We came by on Saturday to pick up some treats for my daughter's 15th birthday. Service was quick and easy. It's NBA Allstar game coming up, so they had basketball themed chocolate dipped Oreos and cake pops. They were so cool, I had to take a picture! I have never sat inside with a cop of coffee, so can't say much about that experience, but if you want to get some treats to go, it's a great place to swing by!"

She said the building and the staff were incredibly impressive and fun, so I looked at their website and it's the kind of place you want to go.I don't understand the name of the store, but I'm sure there is a story. "I made a point of stopping by this new bakery/Dessert Parlour in downtown Mooresville during their opening week. Free street parking made it easy to find a spot close to the shop.Being a renovated old building, there is a step up into the doorway and then a right turn to go up three more stairs to get on the showroom floor. The interior looks like they are still growing into the large space. They have a pretty "instagram" bench on the north wall, some beautiful wedding cakes by the front windows, and a long display/order counter along the back wall. Inside the cases are cupcakes, cookies including macarons, tarts, mini cakes, and several other options.After looking through the cases, I picked a chocolate raspberry tart (delicious blend of flavors), a pair of macarons (small and melt in your mouth cookies with a bit of chewy center) and a beautiful chocolate cupcake with coconut (think German Chocolate Cake icing) and pecan pieces. That was SO GOOD!The ladies working behind the counter were friendly and helpful and I was soon on my way. "WOW. Chocolate and peanut butter cupcake, absolutely the best cupcake I've ever had in my life. And just about the most decadent dessert I've ever had, period. Unbelievably rich, gooey, moist, mind-bending explosion of sugary flavor. It was so intense that I really don't know how I ate the whole thing, not to mention how I did it without a glass of milk nearby ... but I simply couldn't stop shoveling it in my face.Scout's has changed my mind on the whole cupcake fad. "I've had the pleasure of eating a several pieces of cake from Classic Cakes over the years at weddings, birthdays etc. This year for my husband's birthday I decided I would buy him a cake to celebrate (he looooves sweets!).Since his birthday occurred during social distancing I knew I couldn't just walk into the Classic Cakes store front and sample flavors or look to see what was in the cooler for take-away. I relied on Yelp reviews and the Classic Cakes website to determine flavor, filling and frosting options.I've had several flavors of cake from here before (chocolate, lemon, red velvet) and each was delicious, but the Yelp crowd overwhelmingly raved about the almond pound flavor. Yelpers, you did not let me down. It is my favorite flavor yet! I paired it with the raspberry filling and buttercream icing. So, so delightful! My husband really enjoyed it too.I ordered the cake through email and attached a picture of what I wanted the cake to look like. The response back with price was quick and the cake looked exactly how I wanted it to. Pick up was easy and contactless. I pulled up to the storefront, they took my name and handed the cake to me through my car window.I would order from here again. A+."

"Cake was the last thing I wanted to spend any effort on in planning our wedding. But I was very specific in wanting a rice krispy treat cake that was not completely covered. We searched all over the Indianapolis area and were turned down just by that request. Indy Cakes was happy to oblige once we provided a picture of what we wanted. They are located in a little dinky area but don't let that deter you! Our wedding cake, grooms cake, and the 150+ cake bites (a must have!) we ordered were phenomenal! I wasn't sure how things would turn out but they blew my expectations out of the water. And everything was so delicious, my guests are still raving about it. The only negatives throughout the whole process came in the communication. I think since they are fairly small it's hard to be in constant communication. But everything worked out for the best and we are so happy we chose them!"

After shopping high and low for a perfect cake with an affordable price for my wedding, I was referred to Amy and her fabulous delectable cakes. There are LOTS of cake places in the Indy area that CLAIM to have the best tasting cakes, and having been in about 27 flippin' weddings myself, I have tasted a lot of these so called "best cakes". Well, none of them lived up to Amy's cake, which was moist, gorgeous and even wonderful a YEAR later on my 1st anniversary. Might I also mention that she charges UNDER $2.00 a slice. This might make her SOUND cheap and therefore, might make you think that there are BETTER cakes out there b/c they are more expensive, but I beg to differ. The likes of other cakeries don't have have anything on Amy and her slices of heaven.First off, I ask her to do a chocolate drizzle on my cake. She had never done this but promised she would make it work. For months leading up to my event she would call to let me know she was "practicing". She also had other brides and grooms taste test MY cake to make sure it was progressing.Not only was my cake GREAT tasting but it was BEAUTIFUL!! I cannot say ENOUGH about this wonderful concoction that was my wedding cake. It was three layers of double chocolate and two layers of almond vanilla with white chocolate icing and dark chocolate drizzle. My (crappy florist) tossed in some pretty pink roses and we WON and award from "Real People Magazine" for Indiana's BEST cake!!For a whopping $320 total for a cake that served nearly 200 people, I could NOT have been happier. She even came the day of, cut my cake for me and put it together. It looked fantastic, tasted fantastic, was affordable and I could not have been a happier bride. I have since used her for birthday cakes, shower cakes and desserts of every sort!! Brides, do not choose those OTHER cake shops that constantly CLAIM to have the best cakes. Take yourself to small town Indiana and have a slice of heaven instead! You'll thank me later!"

"Kelly's cakes is a very much needed bright spot on this part of Pendleton Pike. This is a Mexican style bakery and, on our visit, there were no English speaking staff. That was just fine, though, as you grab a tray and serve yourself from the variety of pastries. Not as sweet as American pastries, everything we got was a unique experience. Muffins. Croissants. Rolled Cake. A ton of other things I really can't identify. Do yourself a favor and stop by Kelly's cakes."

"Well, if you haven't tried Boone County Cake Company, you need to. I received the most delicious mango macaroons for my birthday. On my, they were light with a creamy mango filling that left me wanting more. They don't open until 10 am and the macaroons (and other goodies) sell out quickly, so you've got to get there early. They offer custom cakes and other baking needs. They are located just a block off the courthouse in an older house. I'm so happy to have this treasure so close to home."

Everyone wore masks, so no issues there.Get there early for the best selections, they are a busy place. Closed on Sunday and Monday. They open at 5 am and close at 3 pm.You can enter in the front or the alley.When our out-of-state kids come home they always have to get Linne's baked goods - it's a part of their childhood when they were growing up."

I saw lots of flavors of muffins, pecan rolls, cinnamon rolls, scones, banana bread, cookies, cupcakes and lots more. I got a banana nut muffin and a cinnamon roll. The cinnamon rolls was just OK, but the banana nut muffin was stellar. It had a somewhat sticky toffee top, and the whole shebang was tender and ultra banana-y. I also got a cup of black coffee, and it, too, was stellar. It almost had a fruity, wine-like flavor. Kind of bizarre and unusual but in the best way. This bakery / coffee shop is located in downtown Columbus. Parking is on the street and around the corner in the neighborhoods."

Our DAIRY FREE cake was lemon cake, berry filling, and vanilla icing. We also got lemon macaroons with raspberry filling. All of it had copper leaf decoration and looked stunning.You guys... I still dream about those desserts. People couldn't believe the cake was dairy free. It was so flavorful and moist. The macaroons melted in your mouth. My husband, who doesn't typically do desserts, was looking forward to cake leftovers when we got back from our honeymoon.
