"This restaurant serves food cafeteria style. They have a huge parking lot and it consists of 2 sides. The front side of the restaurant is where you will find the kitchen style dining room, with tons of seating. The other side is where you can get to-go food. This part has its own special designated parking spots. I went to the dining part. This is where you go through a cafeteria line and sort through pies, entrees, sides, bread and drinks. I got the meatloaf, with sides of creamed potatoes and stuffing. Of course I got a slice of their pecan pie, since I had heard so much about their desserts. The staff there is very friendly and helpful. They have staff working the floor, cleaning tables and bringing people refill drinks and to-go containers. I found me a table after going through the line and started to dig in. My meal was mediocre at best, even for cafeteria food. It looked SOOOO much better than it tasted. The meatloaf was pretty bad. It had an odd taste to it. The stuffing was even worse. I could not even finish it. The deviled eggs were decent. I have had better and I have had worse. Then there was the pie. It was exquisite, well worth the price of admission. That is the only highlight of what was a blahhh meal. The pie definitely lived up to the hype. I highly recommend their pies.I found the food not only bland, but also a bit on the pricey end. I dropped $30 there. Oh well, at least I had the pie. I would probably check out another eatery, if I was considering this place. On the flip side though, I would run, not walk here, to get my hands on one of those pies (they are pricey too, though)."
"BBQ is pretty good.. but honestly, almost prefer their takeout over eating in the restaurant. We ended up coming for a late fathers day dinner and I was really hoping for an ice cold beer. Unfortunately, their liquor license didn't get renew, so no beer for dad and I. I ended up with a brisket sandwich and mac n cheese. Both were good, with great flavor. Wife had the pork nachos, full size. Good amount of food overall, we enjoyed them for lunch the next day too. Kids had a hot dog, drink and chips. They were fine, $8 for the kids meal possibly? Overall, a fine experience.. but this food travels well enough, take it home and enjoy your back patio, additional sides and own booze."
"We recently visited Jamaican Breeze for the first time for sit-down dinner, with our vegan friends who raved about their almost weekly take-out veggie stew order. We visited early on a Thursday night and were one of the few dine-in customers, but we noticed a steady flow of take-out pickups and Door Dash drivers. Menu-wise, we wanted to try the oxtail, jerk chicken, and jerk ribs, and found the combo offerings a great option to try more dishes out. Both of our dishes came with the rice and peas mix, steamed cabbage, and plantains. Our vegan friends ordered their same tried-and-true vegan vegetable mix. Our favorite item was the dark meat jerk chicken and hot sauce; we poured that sauce over everything and will order more next time. We also enjoyed the oxtail, but probably missed out on some of the meat still left on the bones...mostly because we felt awkward in sucking meat off the bone in front of a vegan audience. I enjoyed the butter beans that came with the oxtail, as well as the steamed cabbage carrot mix. We noticed the menu was very vegetarian and vegan friendly, for those interested in exploring those offerings. The restaurant was very clean, with a friendly, casual environment that was colorfully decorated. The owners did a really good job in refreshing the space, from its prior lives as different restaurants. Our service was also very welcoming and understanding of our need to chat with our friends, commiserate, and catch up. We live super close to Jamaican Breeze and feel silly for not visiting sooner; we'll definitely be back for more jerk chicken and to try out more options!"
"We came to Liter's for both the Farmer's Market and Brunch. Unfortunately, I didn't confirm the Farmer's Market hours beforehand so I only had a few minutes to shop. Hopefully I can come back another day because there were some cool items here. One of today's brunch specials was based around the Broad Ripple's Farmer's Market which was a vegan special. There are several vegan and vegetarian options on Liter's menu.We arrived at Liter's before the rush and was seated quickly. Our server, Jordan, couldn't arrive quickly as she appeared to be tied up with a couple large tables. When she did arrive we found her to be friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The Bavarian inspired menu had many entrees and salads I'm looking forward to trying in the future. Today, we were here for their Saturday brunch. I ordered the Breakfast Brunch Basic with your choice of eggs, protein and toast. I tried the Smoked Pork Hash chopped and sauteed with onions, peppers and potatoes, topped with two scrambled eggs and Crystal hot sauce aioli and thick, hearty toast. The smoked pork was truly excellent and flavorful with large pieces of meat mixed in with the generous veggies. It is hard to find good hash and this certainly was one of the best I've had. I will order again. My husband ordered the Egg Sandwich with option of bacon or sausage on toast with scrambled eggs (his minus cheese) and served with a simple salad, fruit or diced potatoes (his choice). He noted the entire sandwich was bland and the sausage was mediocre. The potatoes were prepared well and he enjoyed a little more after seasoning. He wasn't terribly impressed with the sandwich and probably will not order again. The brunch menu has a nice variety with Ham & Grits, Salads, and several types of Waffles (Chicken & Waffle, Buttermilk Waffle and Meat, Waffle and Turchettis hot link and eggs or the every changing Jose's Waffle Special). I'm no expert on German food; I know what I like but want to try new things. They offer several sausages (bratwurst, bluwurst, currywurst), sauerkraut, schnitzels (pork, chicken or portabella) and several German specials. Of course you'll find all the drafts, ciders, seasonal and canned beers plus cocktails, spirits and wines. I enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere, my breakfast was fantastic and Jordan provided excellent service. I'm sure I'll be back for brunch and the Smoked Pork Hash."
"Giudbess, what a lovely treasure and addition to the near Eastside neighborhood (and conveniently less than ten minutes from home). I was so excited to hear of Gomez BBQ expanding beyond their City Market location and better yet, brightening up a spot on the near Eastside. The space boasts a charming black historic tin ceiling, floor to ceiling windows, cozy vibes and a mural along the side of the building. Rumor has it there are plans of adding a side patio for expanded outdoor seating. One of the things I love most about this location is that they offer a breakfast menu and variety of coffee drinks using Bee Coffee Roasters beans. I ended up ordering an oat milk based cinnamon beverage and it was delightful. I also ordered a pulled pork sandwich and smoked tofu for the road. The pork was amazing---and I'm all about the pickle combo to balance the flavors. I also appreciate that Mike supports other local businesses like Broad Ripple Chips and Four Birds Bakery. I was able to buy the tofu vacuum sealed to take home and prepare with other ingredients. Promise you won't regret a breakfast/lunch or dinner at Gomez BBQ. Cherry on top? Order a beer flight while you're there. Enjoy!"
"Breakfast Croissant 10/10!First time here and it didn't disappoint. I got some to go items and a hot meal as well. I'll definitely be back. This place is the perfect place to go if you want meals frozen for a gift."
"We came here to eat on a Saturday afternoon for a work event. We called ahead and made reservations. I think calling ahead of time helped out a lot because our server was only helping our tables. The service was TOP NOTCH! Again, I say that because I think it helped that we told them how many people would be coming so they were able to staff appropriately for the day. My husband and I split the Mississinewa which comes with 4 meats and 4 sides. We chose the brisket, wings, pulled pork, ribs, double the mac n' cheese, baked beans, and the jalapeno cornbread. My favorite out of the meal was definitely the baked beans and the wings! Wow they were so good! My only complaint with the meal was the mac n' cheese. It was VERY watery (almost like a soup). If I was in the area again, I would come back but would order something different next time. They had a great menu with lots of variety!"
"My husband was very leery that his wife was taking him to a tiny spot next to Meineke, but I told him to keep an open mind. I knew he was going to have his lunchtime mind blown once he bit into his smoked chicken wing. Spoiler alert: the wife was right because TURF has mastered the art of smoking poultry. These are officially my second favorite chicken wings in Indy! You know what food item on their menu board tops as my first favorite in town? The bread pudding. I imagine this sweet, gooey, and boozy would taste like a hug (if you could actually taste a hug). Even if you're feeling full, make room for this dessert! So what did my husband learn after our trip to TURF? Always trust in his wife's lunch choices."
"Wonderful place! Five star baked goods and five star service all day long. My personal favorite: big scones, some crunch on the outside and cakey on the inside. Everything is great: breads, cinnamon rolls, fruit bars, sandwiches, cookies - it's all delicious. Not much else to say, this place is awesome! Follow them on Twitter for updates."
"This deli has been sitting in this little strip mall for quite some time even when nothing else was there. They have a daily special usually a sandwich or wrap with a soup of choice. Typically have 4-6 soups available everyday. I usually go with the special because they all have been pretty good. But you have plenty of sandwich, salad and soup options if that special of the day is not your jam."

Drove down to our old hunting grounds. It was a sad day and after the service we needed some comfort food. So what better to go for home cooked vittles than Grays!I had some barbecue ribs with a sweet but tangy sauce. My wife enjoyed the chicken parmigiana with garlic bread. The other offerings looked fantastic especially the pies and cakes! We hope to visit again when we are in the area.

OK, so this is a wild review but it's 8 AM in the morning and I am in stuck traffic outside the building and it smells like absolute heaven. I have no idea what they're cooking in there but I want nothing more than to come back and eat it for dinner.

I'd like to pretend that I had some sort of influence on the development of Liter House, the latest and greatest of the Sahm establishments that recently opened in the increasingly foodie-centric SoBro area of Indy. I've established myself within the Sahm's world as a trusted Yelp critic, often both criticism and praise with equal enthusiasm and fairness and, according to their leadership team, with the kinds of details necessary for effective follow-up.It's also well known that I'm a wheelchair user, a fact that I mention in nearly all my reviews or, at minimum, that influences my reviews as I inevitably mention accessibility. So, I couldn't help but smile when I pulled up to Liter House and immediately realized that they had, in fact, taken great care to ensure easy wheelchair access from multiple appropriate parking spots to the side to a delightful, ADA compliant concrete ramp to the left of their main entrance and a floor plan that offers multiple options for wheelchairs. While they didn't go to Next Door American Eatery extreme of adding in automatic doors, the truth is I would definitely consider this A-grade accessibility.I had intentionally held off on being an early Liter House customer because of what I saw as one red flag - the website wasn't done. I arrived about 3pm on a Friday, an odd time to arrive at any restaurant and perhaps a death knell for a new restaurant. I would describe the decor as a weaving together of retro Indy and German traditional with a warm kitschy feeling accentuated by the short, winding hall at the entry, the ever dominating presence of the brewery area, and the intimate, darkly wooded main dining area that made me think of 1950's Indy restaurants. There's a combo of booths/tables and hosting area that greets you, though this being an odd time for lunch/dinner the hostess was actually away from the area but did quickly identify me and immediately turned her attention to me. The menu looks intimidating. I promise you - it is not. The tagline on the website says it all - "Bavarian Inspired. Indiana made." If you're a German delicacy purist, you'll likely say "Nice try." If you're used to the usual Sahm's menu, you'll probably get a little lost at first. Liter House was lucky enough to snag Chef John Adams, formerly of Bluebeard, whose creations here for lunch, dinner and weekend brunch lean toward German-tinged and German contemporary with hints the Midwestern sensibility necessary to survive in this market. Liter House is definitely an experimental effort, but it's a rather grand one with a 110-seat family dining area and bar with private meeting spaces and a 200-seat banquet room also available. The still under construction complex is also adding a barbecue and beer pavilion and a rooftop wine and whiskey bar are in the works. I was a little thrown off to be told that I had arrived during "Happy Hour," a time with a somewhat limited menu that didn't exactly make me happy. Fortunately, the week's specials plus starters were still available and I had no problem finding something for what I considered lunch. At $12, the Alles Geht: Kubanisch includes house made Cuban bread, Serrano ham, smoked pork loin, emmentaler, pickles, and kraut mustard with choice of side. Appetizers/Starters range from $5-10, meals tend to be in the low-to-mid teens (some go higher). I would place Liter House comfortably in the mid-scale price range and fairly consistent with most brewery/pub type establishments. I will confess I was a little concerned about food given my tendency toward "plain" foods and my somewhat sensitive system. The meal came with a side (I'll confess I chose boring yet delightful house cut fries). The food was sublime. While I had never had anything like this, I believe essentially a Cuban with a German twist, it was absolutely spot-on. The fries, while maybe not in keeping with the restaurant, were a perfect complement. While a meal delivered at 3pm may be suspect, this was top notch. My server, Hannah, was a friendly and somewhat introverted delight. She was helpful, attentive without being overbearing and had a low-key sense of humor. She gave me time to linger, though it's my understanding Liter House can snag bigger crowds later on and the lingering time may be more difficult. The only slight glitch, very slight, was plopping down the check not two minutes after telling me I could linger. If nothing else, psychologically that sends a "time to go" message. The hostess also gets kudos for spying my empty iced tea glass and filling it while Hannah was off serving another customer. Again, little touches mean a lot.I did not try beer, though definitely will in the future. Check out their website for the list, though you shouldn't be surprised to see mostly German-themed brews. I could likely go 4 stars, but Liter House really is a bold culinary statement in Indy and what's already good should only keep getting better. So, 5 stars it is.

I actually like the new location even so it's not in the best part of town. This is such a quaint little place you will feel at home immediately. The BBQ is as good as ever, maybe even better. I recommend checking out the daily specials. This way I lucked in to a grilled cheese with pulled pork on it with a side of tomato soup... OMG, so good. Espcially the grilled cheese. Cheesy buttery pulled pork on crisp bread. Heavenly. Of course the 'regular' menu is delicious as well. This is one of those great restaurants where you just cannot go wrong because it is all yummy. You can also get specialty softdrinks and a variety of beers here. And there are parking spots alongside the building as well as in the rear.

Dropped in for lunch and try new menu. Was not disappointed still great offerings. Street tacos were a home run. The smoke turkey is righteous and I have smoked my share of turkeys. Jefferson Street does it right.

It took me WAY TOO LONG to try this gem. And now i can't stop returning! This is now my favorite lunch spot. If you're tired of burgers, club sandwiches, wings... Come here to have your mind blown. They have reinvented the "normal lunch fare" with flavors for for the finest palates! So go ahead order the grilled cheese or club sandwich.... You will not be bored. It's a good sign when you walk in the door and smokey meat fragrance wafts toward you. Some tips:+ The place is small so if you plan on eating there expect to sit next to a stranger or at an outdoor picnic table + Hard to find... Just pretend like your going to Arby's drive thru or meineke then you'll find it!+ Come with an appetite or plan to take half home. These sandwiches are huge.+ When they run out they run out... So if you want what you saw on the Facebook post, come early+ If they're out of something... Don't go away... EVERYTHING IS AMAZING, try something new and you'll be happyTurf primarily does catering but they are so wonderful to have some lunch friendly versions of their culinary treats that they serve when they don't have a catering event, so check Facebook daily to see if they are open for lunch.

"Smelled amazing as soon as we walked through the door. We were a group of 5 and decided to get the Motherload so we could share a bit of everything. We overestimated how hungry we were because it was a TON of food, but made for great leftovers."
"I was sitting around one Christmas Eve Eve, right after a small snow storm and started to crave some barbecue. Mind you that I had a refrigerator full of food. Well anyway, I was perusing social media and saw a post from this restaurant saying they were open and ready for business. I took that as a sign or some divine intervention and loaded up my truck and trecked the icy roads to get my Barbecue fix. This place is more than a catering business. They have barbecue, pies, and cookies. They also have a decent sized dining area with a television. There are also a couple of tables outside in front of the restaurant, but it was way too cold for that. They have a decent sized parking lot that it shares with the other businesses in the strip mall that it is in.The restaurant offers catering, carry out and dining in. I got carry out. They have fried chicken, ribs, ham, pulled pork, pulled chicken, and steaks. They also have macaroni, green beans, collard greens, potato salad, backed beans, french fries, and baked potato. If that was not enough, they have a self-serve barbecue sauce station with a wide assortment of sauces to choose from. I ordered a brown sugar baked ham sandwich with a side of collard greens and baked beans. I also got a heat and serve chili and meatloaf for Christmas dinner. My ham sandwich was packed with meat. It was overflowing. It was delicious, very flavorful and tasty. The baked beans very also very tasty and had a bit of a kick to them, just like I like it. The collard greens were sweet as advertised, they had a slight vinegar taste, but not too strong. It has a distinct taste and I liked it a lot.The sweets and their barbecue sauces are all made in house and are mmmmm, mmmm delicious. My favorite sauce was their hot honey sauce. The staff there was very friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed them. This is not only a very nice spot to have your catering needs met, but to eat some nice Q. It may not look like much on the outside, but there is a lot of deliciousness on the inside. I highly recommend checking this place out."
"My bff wanted to come here for her birthday, so I packed up and headed west. HR sits back off Main St (Hwy 136) in a small, nondescript building just behind the liquor store. Don't blink or you'll miss it! Entrance is on the west side of the building. I knew I was in the right place when a very friendly employee greeted me and asked me how many were in our party. It's a smallish dining space, but they do have a small bar and long wooden tables that look like they would hold at least 10 people each. Seems like a fun place to have a special event! Our waitress was quite attentive and friendly, helping us navigate the menu and make some choices. Note: the entrees are served family style! She and another friendly patron at the bar described their house wine drinks (of which you can choose a flight to try them all). We opted to start with drinks, fried pickles and the charcuterie board. For our main entrees we chose the fried chicken and gnocchi with a side of jalapeño mac and cheese. The charcuterie board was amazing with a variety of meats, cheeses, olives, hummus, veggies, Dijon mustard and toasted baguette slices. A little secret about the pickles: they're sweet (and delicious)! When the entrees arrived we were even more impressed, especially by the gnocchi. My friend's hubby said they reminded him of an herbed dumpling, and that's a true statement. They were so tender and melted in your mouth! I didn't try the chicken, and my pic doesn't do it justice, but everyone else devoured it, as well. The mac & cheese was also unique in that it had a great jalapeño flavor without a ton of heat. The cheese sauce, wow! Just like my gma used to make. They were even so nice as to let us eat our own bday cake at the end of our meal! We rolled out of there satisfied and truly happy to have tried this gem of a place. They also offer catering services. I, for one would be thrilled if someone told me they were bringing HR's food in for a meal!"
"I had a craving for Indian food and since I was eating solo for dinner, it was the perfect time to try Royal Indian which recently opened in the old Scotty's Brewhouse in Southport. I ordered through DoorDash but I got my food quickly. Everything was still hot and my order was correct.I started with the vegetable samosas. They were huge! They were filled with potatoes and peas. For my entree, I had the chana masala. It was super flavorful and not overly spicy. The rice and naan were delicious too. To feel better about myself, I added the cucumber salad to get some vegetables in. The green sauce on the side was fantastic too.Everything was really reasonably priced and the portion sizes were big. I had enough leftover for lunch the next day and then some."
"Okay, I got photos on this order for family lunch and to show you how good it was... because there were some empty pans and satisfied smiles. Ordering here always guarantees to have a happy crowd!"
"My family got to be a part of the soft opening. I had the "More Cowbell" and loved the experience of just ordering it. I tried multiple BBQ sauces with it. Also tried the Coleslaw, Corn pudding, and the Green Beans & Bacon. Everything tasted great and was smoked to perfection. Service was fast and the employees were great at answering our questions.Very fun atmosphere! Can't wait to go back and try some of the different menu options."
"The best food ever. best service ever! Chef T definitely pours her heart and soul into these dishes as well as her staff.... they are amazing and the food is so good ... our favorite happens to be NoLa Pasta... I can not describe how delicious it is... If you're in indianapolis... especially downtown... go to city market and check out Chef T at T street EatzIt's so yummy"
"I was recently in Carmel as a guest presenter for a wedding and events industry event where A Cut Above provided the food. Having a culinary background, I tend to be very fussy about food and rarely eat before speaking. The event had a Tea Party theme, and as it was the group's first in-person event in 18 months, they wanted to keep things low touch. A Cut Above created unique tea-time-themed bento boxes. Each box contained a small Mixed Green Salad, a Scone with Raspberry Jam, a Macaron, and two Tea Sandwiches. The Salad was fresh, and the dressing in a pipette was delicious. The Macaron was perfectly crisp and tender, and the Cucumber Tea Sandwich was light and flavorful. The two standouts were the Coronation Chicken Tea Sandwich and the Lavender Scone. I LOVE Coronation Chicken, and this was as good as any I've had. Lavender is a flavor that can easily go wrong, and this was perfect. It was subtle with just a hint of Lavender in a tender, well-made Scone. The Tea selections they offered were beautiful and well presented.Their staff was friendly and professional, the food was excellent, and everything was beautifully presented. I enjoyed everything so much I asked for an extra box to take back to my hotel room!"
"Awesome elevated comfort food menu.I was scrolling through my pictures from my trip to Indy and I saw a photo of a menu. Upon closer inspection, it hit me that I took the pic because I wanted to explicitly call out its awesomeness in this review. It is chalk full of dishes that sound like they came out of my dreams. Here are a couple noteworthy examples:5280 PB & J - ok, this one didn't come out of my dreams, because I don't eat pork, but literally, if I discovered this two years ago before I went semi-kosher, I would be all over it. Roast pork loin, pepper bacon, fig & plum jam on a pretzel bun?! Yes, I did just rewrite the menu for you, but it should be shared with the world.Mr. Potato Head and Cheese - I once wrote has there ever been a match made in heaven that beats truffle and French fries? The answer is now yes, truffles and tater tots. This dish also includes grated parmesan and chopped garlic.Every other dish sounds as good as these, but I'm going to have to let you read the menu yourself. We ended up getting 4 Real Kettle Chips. I was not hungry. I had a ginormous omelet for lunch and I was still having problems buttoning my pants. Yet, once I saw these gorgeous kettle chips, I had to try some. And by some I mean I ate way more than my fair share (I wasn't even the person who bought them). They are generously topped with parmesan and at $4 its an absolute steal.Everything else on the menu is between $7 and $10, which is such a great deal for the quality of this food. We ran into the food truck outside Bier Brewery. Since this was the first brewery we stopped at during our Indy Brew Bus tour, I'm confident in saying I was still sober enough to truly appreciate the food. The owner of the bus is super friendly. I could tell he cared about providing great dishes. This continues my theme of reviews where I'm basically commanding everyone to support local! If you run into this food truck, you won't regret ordering a meal."
"Not sure if this place is called southpaw because the owner is left-handed or not but his Gumbo was "right-on!"Upon entering I was greeted warmly by the cashier and asked what I'd like to order? I enquiredhow authentic the gumbo was and the owner quickly offered me a sample. One bite and I was convinced this was bayou The gumbo has seafood, sausage and chicken in a very smooth but not too thick roux. The seasoning had just enough kick but not overbearing. This was almost enough to feed two people. I'm definitely looking forward to returning to try their other entree's."
"Mary and Amy are great cooks!! If you need to pick up food for the family on your way home stop by and get it. Their facebook has their daily dinner take outs and get there early for some baked goods because they sell out!!"
"Best BBQ food in Bloomington hands down. Spoke to the owner and he was super nice and gave me recommendations. The bbq brisket tacos are the way to go. Melts in your mouth. Definitely coming back"
"We had Flavor By Faith cater for our organization recently and the food was the highlight of our entire event! The food was all delicious and beautifully presented, and Faith was very easy to work with. We will definitely be using her for our event next year. I'd recommend Flavor By Faith for any of your future catering needs!"
"I've had better. I tried the 3 piece chicken which was supposed to come with a side. I didn't get the side (asparagus) ..only the chicken. I figured I would get a wing leg and a breast or a thigh. I received 2 legs and a thigh. Ugh. Ate some of the skin off the thigh. A hour later I threw up. Idk."
